Takara some how took one of the perfect Transformers and made it cooler? Incredible.

Subtle differences but it looks great.

Is it just me or does the chest look too big for the rest of the body?

He seems to be lacking the proper proportions. I'm beginning to think that's how they got a better cab mode.

If the figure was cheaper I would buy it, but $250 for a figure that is smaller than the MP-04 which was priced at $180 originally just doesn't sit with me.

They basically want me to spend $70 more than what I spent on MP-04. How on earth is that cool?

Nice-looking Prime.

His proportions seem slightly off. Like, his legs seem a bit short and his arms a bit long. But I guess he's supposed to be based on the cartoon/movie model. (Wasn't the first??)

I'll stick with my good old MP 4; giant, heavy toy that he is. :D He's currently acting as ballast on a mobile dry dock.

These pictures do look better, I have to agree. From the chest windows and on up...he looks very much like the animation model. But, when you get a good look at the full view of the figure, things start to become noticeable. Negative things.

The legs, for one. They're just kinda goofy looking, I think.

He most certainly is not worth $250.00

No thank you.

To anyone who thinks this will come stateside, you're living a pipe dream. At the very least, we might receive the cab, but definitely not the trailer. And one of the main selling points of this version IS the trailer.

Sounds to me like you'll have to pay $250 or not at all.

I choose not at all.

Does anyone know if this mold still contains die cast metal and if so what parts? I'm wondering if it's really comparable to the previous mold for Prime or if they're switching to plastic for more or all of the figure.

I love this version. There was always something about the old MP mold that didn't sit well with me. He looked weird. Not like the Optimus I remember. This one looks much closer to me. But it's just such a damn shame that he's so expensive. I really do want him, and his trailer. I have it on preorder just in case. But I'm waiting to close on a house in a month or so and I'm thinking all my money is going to be suddenly diverted to the house and new stuff for it. So sadly I'm most likely going to not end up with this guy. He looks great. And I reeeeally want him to replace my IGear Faith Leader, whose size I find very acceptable compared to the Tak/Has mold.

He has a lot of personality I think that the old one didn't have. The face and overall head seems much more expressive to me. The body seems more dynamic, especially around the waist where it lacks the skirts of the original. And the energon axe looks much cooler this time around. Even like the flip out alt mode mirrors.

Well, this one has a roller and a trailer that blows the MP04 trailer out of the water. Also, he seems to be able to do quite a few more dynamic poses, the engineering is far more advanced.

Also, I kinda hope that this guy has no die-cast, the paint of my MP01 is starting to chip off, and I haven't touched him in a while.

Also, it kinda looks like his legs are too short for the rest of the body, I kinda hope that the lower legs extend a little bit and someone forgot to do so before taking the pictures.

I really wish this was smaller, more of a classics sized masterpiece. I really don't see how Hasbro would be able to sell this without the trailer.

It is interesting to see that the ankle is on a hinge system instead of a ball joint. I hope that doesn't hinder the figure's mobility.

QFT. On all of it. I really want a MasterPiece Optimus, but I'm struggling to decide which.

Looks like you don't have to fold his fists in to have him "hold" his axe. Does it have a glove-like function now? :???:

luckily for you all i speak chinese

translated: ''this new optimus prime is BS, just look at it. It couldn't keep an American fan happy for two seconds, but you should still buy it cause we want your money and you don't. And to further more convince you to give us money look at the cheaply made trailer and complete lack of detailing and piant apps.''

It's Japanese, smart ass. And you're judging a figure that you don't own and are pretty much looking at something that's probably not the finished product. Stay classy dude.
