Over at the Idle Hands blog, there are pictures of both package designs and each of the Battle Masters available. The Battle Masters can be operated with two game controllers that are interchangeable. There is also an app for iPad/iPhone to complete the battle. The starter pack includes two bots, “The Diesel Destroyer” Optimus Prime and “The Calamity of Humanity” Megatron. Other single pack bots that will be available include Starscream, Prowl, Bumblebee, and Barricade. Battle Masters are set to be available April 2014.

The Idle Hands Blog has come up with a copy of the Hasbro line-up for this years Toy Fair. But if you scroll down past the My Little Pony Flip And Whirl Rainbow Dash Pony, down below the Nerf N-Strike Mega Tunderbow… even below the Spidey Kapow Action Plush we get to what might be the big news item:
Angry Birds Transformers!!!
Racers – September
Battle Packs – September
Energon Multi-Pack – September
Bumblebee Blast – September
Telepods Optimus Raceway – September
If we are seeing Angry Birds Transformers in a toy line, its not a far leap to speculate there will be a video game offered up as well. Looks like September should be fun.
Here is the blog post they are referring to - Toy Fair 2014: A Hefty Sampling of Hasbro's Lineup

Well, at least he's got Armada Starsscream's shade of red.

Even warriors of this low caliber should be recycled with full honors. The amount of plastic they're wasting on these guys with oil prices where they are...ugh.

Aside from Optimus, nothing looks like their name. Heck where's Starscream's cockpit. That could have saved more cost by simply repaint the same mold with different color and call it Metroplex, or Arcee.

Either that or these werent originally going to be a transformer product but due to poor testing (or just speculation that these wouldnt sell) they slapped on the TF brand to try and make them sell. Besides optimus the others are pretty must just generic looking robots.
The names should be: "Red and blue bulkhead", "Evil purple bulkhead", "Yellow Bulkhead", "Orange bulkhead"...

I think you hit the nail on the head. Not the name mix-up, but your second suggestion.

Could be either or. I've seen Star Wars Angry Birds, so I kinda know what to expect here: Big Red as Optimus Prime and the King of Pigs as Megatron.

It is highly unlikely that any toy news before the New York Toy Fair (16-19 February) will be about the main lines of toys for 2014/15. Hasbro is like that, they keep all their stuff secret until big US events.
I know, it's a big tease, but that's how it is!

Yep, the International Toy Fair in New York next month is where they will roll out the big guns for 2014. Followed by more reveals at BotCon, SDCC 2014, and NYCC 2014. Just be patient it's just two weeks away!

And the biggest event for this stuff will be SDCC, BotCon gets to see a lot of stuff first, but SDCC is where the general public will get to see them, plus more on top.
So be patient, you'll have to wait till SDCC to get to see the really good stuff.

Actually, I wonder about that. The film will be coming out almost a month before the con - so most film releases might be shown in New York and at BotCon. Especially as the latter ends three days before the film is released in some countries, and four before it shows in the US.

Oh look, people complaining about people complaints.
"Geez, people complaining in comments are so boring. Look at me, I'm complaining about complains, i'm so cool".
"Toys must be simple because 12 years old can't tie their own shoes. Why kids today don't know how to spell properly? Geez why people like justin bieber?. Why my son is so stupid? Where I got it wrong? It must be junk food."
I <3 you GuyIncognito! Please complain about me complaining your complaints about complainers so I can complain about it too.
Plus: Plastic is derivated from petrol, wich I think is really precious, as USA "democratizes" every country that has it.

...my first thought is actually of one advantage TF has over Star Wars here: dozens of characters who actually turn into birds, and at least three pigs. In other words, this has the potential to sorta' make more sense if they stray beyond the big names.
PLEASE at least include Snarler; his main character trait is selfishness IIRC, so he actually would steal eggs if he saw a point to it. And if they just ignored factions and threw in Randy, he could crumble from GPS when you hit him!

What do dignity and respect have to do with it? These are children's toys, not war memorials.
