New Galleries: Titans Return Deluxe Blurr with Hyperfire

Right after bringing you the Titans Return Hardhead gallery, Seibertron.com continues its Titans Return galleries with another bot from the first wave of deluxe figures: Blurr, with his Titan Master partner Hyperfire!

Unlike the other updates to the G1 Headmaster this is a different take on Blurr since this is the first time Blurr is a Headmaster. This doesn't stop the toy from also being the most faithful update to his original 1986 toy that we have gotten so far. It should also be remembered, that G1 Blurr did get a gimmick update one year later by being rereleased as a Targetmaster. His 1987 Targetmaster gun partner, Haywire, is partly homaged by his new Titan Master, Hyperfire.

The mold is a winner but sweet Primus, that paint job (or rather lack thereof) is inexcusable. Takara wins outright here.

That said, I'm still considering Animated Blurr. I love that design.

I am curious to know where those 2 lie on anyone's list of top 5 Blurr toys.

Well Legends Blurr probably wins due to being the definitive G1 Blurr (thus far)...but I'd say the Animated figure would be a close second. I assume, don't actually own it yet.

As for top 5 Blurrs, there haven't been that many, so I'd probably list it as:

5: The G1 toy, as for a vintage figure it's fairly animation accurate (and also pretty good looking in car mode).
4: Armada Blurr, which despite being a brick is a very stylish brick, with a sweet as hell car mode and a good looking, if inarticulate, robot mode.
3: Generations Blurr, which although not very Blurr-ish is still a good toy by virtue of being based on the superb Drift mold (which I must buy some day) and coming with some cool weapons.
2: Animated Blurr, which is awesomely poseable, nicely styled and extremely unique (plus is a nice homage to the cancelled TransTech Cheetor).
1: Takara Legends Blurr, for being the only even remotely G1-accurate official Blurr figure since the 80s, Headmaster aside. (And by the looks of things a good toy to boot provided they don't botch the plastic).

That's a lot of blue Blurrs. Y'know, honestly TR Blurr's paint scheme is kinda growing on me. It's really not all that terrible...though it isn't really amazing, either. The Legends definitely tops it across the board, which is why I'll be importing him.

Rounding out our first wave of deluxe Titans Return figures, we bring to you Seibertron.com's newest gallery: Deluxe Scourge with Fracas! Scourge is a new figure based on his original G1 self originating in the infamous 1986 Movie. This version of the figure also includes his original Targetmaster figure Fracas, now redone as a Titan Master. However, the look of this new Fracas is entirely based on G1 Nightstick, Cylconus' Targetmaster partner since Fracas' look in the show and comic was actually based on G1 Nightstick. Consider this an homage that goes full circle. This small Titan Master can pilot Scourge's spaceship mode as well as the double-barrelled gun.
Check out the gallery images below, and click on any image you want to follow the trail back to the full gallery, and remember to keep an eye out! These guys are hitting your store shelves now!

Galvatron is the one I'm most concerned with. I can't get over how cool the rest of him is but his head is a disaster. Form follows function failed miserably with Galvatron.

Who needs to troop build when you can just get every Scourge toy instead?

It's too bad Scourge makes no attempt to blend the HM's arms into his face, like all the other HMs have done. Dunno if space was an issue or if they were intentionally giving him antennae for whatever reason, but he looks rather bad compared to the others.

Awesome! Just grabbed Motormaster, Wheeljack, and Legends Groove today, which made up for the fact that Titans Return hasn't hit the shelves of stores in my area. (I've only been to Target today so I actually don't know about the rest)

Well the artwork looks like it has antennas. But that could be motion blur from the head attaching.

^ There's that, and the art does avoid being blindly literal (i.e. screws, those slots opposite ball joints, etc.). But it doesn't match Scourge's classic head design, so I kinda feel like I'm supposed to, well, pretend they don't exist.

Our next Transformers Titans Return gallery is also our first Leader class one for the line, as here at Seibertron.com we bring you a full look at Autobot communications expert Blaster, with Titan Master Twin Cast! The latter, of course, takes its name from the e-Hobby exclusive redeco of Blaster himself from his rebuild in the Headmasters animated series, as can be found here - and the name of our very own podcast - though now repurposed for the Headmaster/Titan Master instead.

Blaster, on the other hand, is the latest update for the Autobot from 1985, bringing robot, boombox and a passable base mode for Titan Master playability and cross-compatible with most figure classes in the Titans Retun line. Check out the full galleries by clicking on any of the images below!

Looks good! I don't know whether to get Soundwave or Blaster. Dead set on Galvatron though. I don't know what people are talking about when they say the head is messed up.. But I can just fix it by swapping it out for another. Maybe with the Voyager class Megatron that's rumored to be released. Wait, has that been confirmed to be a Headmaster?

I don't see any screws.. Are you and I looking at the same artwork? Or am I looking at a different one?

Fellow Seibertronians, hot on the heels of our Leader class Blaster galleries, and rounding out our galleries of the wave 1 leader class is Titans Return Leader Class Powermaster Optimus Prime with Apex. This latest version of Optimus Prime is an extremely heavy retool of the Combiner Wars Leader class Ultra Magnus meant to be an reimagined update to his G1 counterpart, except that he is no longer a Powermaster. Instead Optimus has his Titanmaster Apex, whose name is derived from the Apex Armor which was additional armor the G1 Powermaster Optimus Prime could equip. Apex's head mode is based off of the Orion Pax toy, which was a redeco of the G1 Kup toy, and is, of course, the pre-Prime identity of Optimus Prime. So check out the gallery, and let us know what you think in the comments below.
