Previously revealed in a magazine scan, Cybergundam blog hooks us up with a teaser image of the upcoming Revoltech, Sci-Fi Series No.30 Transformers Movie Optimus Prime figure. As with all Revoltechs, this Optimus Prime will feature pleasant articulation, and a very detailed sculpt. The figure is set for release in early September. He looks pretty good. Once they remove the blur and we get to see all the extras it has (probably guns and swords), then I'll see if I'm interested in purchasing it. I've yet to get any TF Revoltech figures, but they look pretty good overall.

There is no blur, He's just that bad ass that the camera can't keep him all in focus at the same time.

Hm, now that I think about it you're probably right. Hopefully that won't be a problem when we have to look at him in person.

Aside from the arms and hands, is the rest of his lower body the figure or CGI render?

Either way looks nice, hopefully they'll do a megs. Unfortunatly I never saw revoltech's again after I saw one in Forbiddon Planet a few years back :( With this being the movie, they may be stocked more and in more places :)

Looks pretty cool, but I'm selling off all my Revoltechs, since I'm limiting my collection to transforming items only.

So if anyone wants Revoltech Rodimus, Megatron or Starscream, or some Valkyries you can use to build a reasonable approximation of Jetfire, shoot me a PM.

That speaks volumes on how good this figure looks.

Does anyone know the general price on these things? Will it be more expensive than the Dual Model kit?

Canceled, sadly. :-(

Revoltechs usually cost about 15-30 bucks (excluding a few ones) and I don't think this guy'll be any different. :D

It should be significantly less. Revoltechs are pretty small, about as tall as an average deluxe, maybe a bit shorter. They originally used to go for $30-$35, but I think they started adding more accessories and elaborate display stands and the price has gone up to about $50...or I could be wrong and the ones with extra accessories/stands are some sort of deluxe Revoltech line.

I hope this means they'll get back to doing more revoltech transformers. My other guys are getting lonely.

I WILL be getting this. I was so impressed with the last TF versions I purchasesd, including Megs, Optimus Prime, Rodimus or Hot Rod I believe and Starscream. All based off of DW art. They make great display figure.

that doesn't really speak volumes about how the figure looks.. it speaks volumes about his knowledge of how movie prime looks.

This guy is a DEFINITE buy ! I dont care even if he dont have that many accesories...I wanna buy him and pose him beside my lonely Voyager Megs cause his size will be a perfect match :D.

To those who are wandering how tall these Revoltechs are...They are taller than the DOTM deluxes but smaller than DOTM Voyagers. They are around WFC Megatron size and a tad bit taller than some Movie Deluxes. I use SS Deluxe and Revoltech Masamune Date for comparison :D.

As for the price...Atleast for Masamune Date...It cost around 35 dollars and Masamune is a 1 and a half year old figure...So maybe DOTM Optimus might cost around 40-45 dollars perhaps...

Nonetheless...I dont care what it takes but I must have this guy once it's released in my country !!!

$47.10? Was tempted.

Was.

That's very expensive. Anyone have any idea as to the size of this guy, cause most Revoltech TFs are really small, and if he's the same size I can't see how that price would be worth it. To be fair though, the details on this guy look amazing, so that and likely the bulk is what constitutes the price.

IMO, If it doesn't transform, its not a transformer.
This is basically an overly detailed robot replica under a bigger brand name with a better history and a longer running time. I'm not saying I don't like it, I'm saying that that model prime looks a whole lot better. Plus, I'm just a gundam fan!
Love building them!
The new model TFs are just what the doctor ordered. I just wish that they could make transformable figures with this much detail. I mean, they're so complex in the movies, people can't expect the toys to be simple blocks like in the past. They don't need all those gimmicks! I like moving parts and lights and sounds as much as the next guy, but if it takes away from the figure, then it's not worth it. If companies need to make movie accurate robot modes for what was once, and still is, something with more than just a robot mode, then that tells you something!
it tells you that you can't just replicate movie magic.
I swear though, If they tried hard enough, they could get ALL those moving parts there, and have them in all the right places!
It would be mindbogglingly complex yes, but it would also be satisfying, wouldn't it? sure, it would up the price like $20 a figure, but for that level of complexity, would it be so bad? I understand it would be expensive to make, and that people would complain. so my proposition is this.
Make the regular tfs for the kiddies, and pump out the overly freakin complex piles of screen accuracy for us collectors! I'm open to the challenge!
Each box would have a complexity level of 10-120!
Ide buy them all!

of course this won't happen.
back on topic.
he's pretty cool, For a nontransformable figure I guess, but I still won't buy.
