New Images of Possible Upcoming Classics Clear Rodimus

Posted by Blurrz Jun 23, 2010 at 7:58pm CDT 48,193 views
A rather peculiar Transformer has fallen into the hands of an ACToys.net member. We've had rumors of an upcoming three-pack, repaints of Classics Deluxe Rodimus, Universe Deluxe Galvatron and Universe Deluxe Cyclonus. Some have said that it will be a Target exclusive, while ACToys.net member 达闻西 claims that this figure is part of a 2010 San Diego Comic Con Exclusive. Only time will tell - so for now check out the images below, and our Transformers Toys section for other toy related news. One thing's for certain, this is likely not to be the Rodimus from the 'Sons of Cybertron' set!

Yikes, that's ugly.

On the other hand, this will make him more affordable for everyone else... hopefully.

It doesn't look all that clear, but rather, just brightly-colored.

While I'm all for a new Classics Rodimus I gotta say the Shattered glass version looks great.

Yeah, it is, but more money for FP. Protector Repaint! Its really ugly...I just don't see Hasbro doing an opaque-ish repaint. That's more of a Takara thing.

...Seriously? I mean, I've heard of the Sons of Cybertron Classics version, but I haven't even heard of this! When was this reported?! Anyway, please be a retail exclusive. I don't own the Rodimus mold yet, and I would like to see if Galvatron and Cyclonus are better than their normal releases. Both of mine are cruddy, one because Galvatron's leg is super loose and will pop off during transformation, and two, one of Nightstick's arms is a upside down version of the other one. In other words, Nightstick has two right hands instead of one right and one left. :-(

Looks mysteriously like a knockoff to me. The Painted windows, the thin, red, almost translucent plastic (but in a bad way), the gray for the hands and other bits.

They all scream knock off to me.

It's not a KO, just an odd sample. Reminds me of Targetmaster Hot Rod.

KO KO KO KO KO KO!!!!!

It isn't clear enough to be a clear fig. It is just cheap plastic. However, it is a very good looking KO. With a fresh lick of paint it could look like a pretty decent replacement for an official product. Of course, pictures can't tell you how it feels or how tight the joints are.

Ugh...

I hope Target gets Rodimus, and I hope he's not translucent like that...abomination.

Sure, I could paint it up, but I don't want to have to.

And SDCC exclusive? That really doesn't help us.

I hope this is allll wrong.

I have no idea if it's a KO or not, but it looks to be an Anime'(and I use that term loosely) accurate version of Roddy:

Image

For one thing, all the colors, as stated, are brighter. The paint is put on solid, with few if any other colors to help bring out details. Notice how flat(I guess) the front engine is compared to the other two. There are orange headlights, and the flame pattern is more in line with the Cartoon's look. The hands are grey, and there's a yellow detail above it(though this is present on the Takara version). His forehead "crest" is now red, and there's a more solid grey, I don't know, forhead diamond. The uh, crotch area also appears to have some kind of painted detail to be more in line with his Cartoon model, though the lighting makes it hard to see. Finally, his entire lower leg area is completely black(or at least as much as they could without mucking up the vehicle mode).

I kind of like it. Certainly not enough to buy it for the 3 pack though, however this could be an indication of what they may look like.

Oh, and what happened to the Screen Caps? I couldn't find any from the movie!

I really like how some of you are talking like KO experts, the only one who deserves to is actually Gema. Anyways, I'd love to give a retort on to why this isn't a KO but that will probably fall on deaf ears. I'll happily pick up my 3-pack whenever tht gets released..

I hope it's a KO or Sons of Cybertron Rodimus. It's pretty ugly due to the not-very-transparent plastic and painted windwos, and I'd rather not purchase an ugly toy in the Hasbro 3-pack. I suppose he's suitable for 'wearing the armor' though.

it's plausible that this one is more cartoon accurate but it doesn't solve the issue of no light piping on the head (common simplification of KO mold).

IF this is ori, it really is the 3 pack since it doesn't resembles anything from the Sons of Cybertron pic surfaced earlier

Well, I was basing my opinion on things like no light piping in the head, seemlingly thin plastic and painted windows in vehicle mode. Those are things that I have found when I have bought KO's in the past. It also looks like it is slightly bigger too. Like I said earlier, I believe it is a well made KO, similar to the KO Classic Optimus Prime and Seekers that were released not too long ago.

Hmmm, that size issue is definitely something to look out for. Anyways, we'll see what's going down in a month or so. In my opinion, Rodimus overload. XD

Ouch. That thing is poor. I would have loved an anime colours version, but this is totally wrong and its such a shame.

When will we have our pink-red and orange Hot Rod?

I'd wait with the whole "It's a KO" debate until we actually see the final figure. The way I see it, it's semi-final test-shot of the figure, as far as I know test shot never use translucent plastic. I do agree both sides are jumping the gun just a little bit.

I wonder if you leave Roddy under the light long enough if he would glow?
