This comparison shot just made the new FE Prime look even worse. The chrome isn't really well applied.

This is just a huge piece of 'nope'. Seeing it side-by-side with the previous Leader highlights this even more. Bottom line; it just looks cheap.
Fingers crossed that this figure is simply the DOTM Voyager Sentinel of the AoE line and the rest of the figures are more 'Transformer-ish'.

That looks ugly. More like a knight than a robot. Why did the pre orders sell out ? Why is everybody so interested in paying top dollar for something that will warm the shelves of every walmart, target, and TRU in the continential US ? I remember getting ROTF Prime on clearance for 35 bucks. And that was the best leader Prime. From there the aesthetic kept going downhill.

Well, unfortunately from what I've heard this is one of the best figures from the AOE line. They are really embracing this whole simplified concept. This is one of the collector aimed "more complex" figures, which is why it's an Amazon exclusive.

I understand that this is in response to the previous overly-complicated movie figures (I'm looking at you, Leader Class Sentinel Prime), but this strikes me as an over-correction.

I personally don't mind the chrome; I think the main complaint has to do with it appearing like a simplified shell-former or the robot body not utilizing any of the cab parts in bot mode.

That's more like the CGI design issue. They shouldn't design that way so toy designers have no idea where to put them but the back.

The chrome is one of the few things (along with the alt mode) that I actually like about this figure. It's the rest that sucks. It's not even a shell-former. It's a robot wearing a truck.

I must have missed pictures of the back of the toy.
I don't care how much Collectors don't like the fact that Hasbro are "oversimplifying" these Movie toys. I hope they sell Millions of these toys so Hasbro can bring us awesome high quality generations toys like what the first Movie did for the Animated toys.

I'd be fine if it were a Voyager or a Deluxe... But a flipping Leader Size shellformer that looks like a brick that pooped the Terminator from Terminator 2? Unacceptable. It's just horrendous!

That New Optimus is Huge. I'm surprised by his size. Them other previous pics of him had him looking like a deluxe.
And the in-hand pics make him look much much better than before. Maybe there is something to look foward to this AOE transformers toy line.
