For our Japan fans, here is the extra info on where he got the figure:

Matt in Japan wrote:I found it at my local Toys R Us.
I paid ¥3,346 ($27.82) each.

Check out that super shiny deco, enjoy!

I think mine was sent via EMS. To be honest I didn't really know what I was doing and just went with default as it seemed a good price and I certainly wasn't expecting it to be sent this quick. I thought it might be next week or the week after going by past deliveries I've had from the US or Australia and such so figured Japan would take a while too. £22.40 is a bargain for that travel and especially since Deluxe figures in the UK cost about £15.99 from a store and this is a japanese exclusive with a bit more than regular Arcee had (the sais)

:D

Yes, you did pick EMS and it is the default. And while you are totally correct that for that kind of fast shipping, it's a bargain (it it the same price it would cost me to have somethign shipped domestically, which is pretty nuts), I just wanted to say that for next time, as you get more used to Amiami, you can try out other options. Believe it or not, EMS is the most expensive option when you have just one toy being shipped. They have other options which you can look at. SAL is the cheapest when its just one toy or a few but of course, it will take 2 weeks or more. So its up to you. If you like EMS, then by all means stick to it. I just waned to say that as cheap as this turned out to be, it could even be cheaper ;)

Enjoy your beautiful toy!

Heh. I didn't even realise there was a comic in the Nightbird box. Thought it was just instructions and as I already know how to transform her from owning Arcee I didn't even look. :P

Comic's far too cutesy for my tastes and I can't read japanese but hey it's a cool extra. :)

I think the package artists are.... shall we say, 'projecting' a little too much of how they'd LIKE these fem-bots to appear in how they're drawing them.... ;)

I did roll my eyes a bit when I saw that panel of Nightbird down with her butt up in the air...

Incomprehensible and slightly weird Japanese humor aside, it is funny having tiny BW Megs alongside G1 Megs.

I really don't like that Slipstream doesn't come with the sword. Nightbird comes with all four of the base mold's weapons and then the two new ones. Combiner Hunter Arcee doesn't even come with the four base weapons yet Nightbird does. So why doesn't Slipstream come with Windblade's sword? I'd like to at least have had the option in displaying her with the sword or not.

Her pose in that box art is very Liefeld-esque. But, I suppose a robot is more likely to be able to do that versus a human being.

Love how this mold has flight stand ports in both robot and vehicle modes. :)

Oh, so it looks like Slipstream got her new body upgrade from Swindle. And look, there's Sentinel Magnus just as he appeared in the Season 3.5 fiction. I wonder if Derrick J. Wyatt had any involvement in this comic.

It's just something Takara does. If they deem an accessory that came with a figure's original release is unecessary or inappropriate for the character that the mold is to be redecoed/remolded into, they take it out. Thankfully, they were willing to create brand new null rays for her that suit her character far more.

The same thing happened with Henkei! Henkei! Lambor and Alert. The engine piece that came with Sunstreaker (as well as every Hasbro release of the Universe Sunstreaker/Sideswipe mold) was left out of Lambor's and Alert's releases since it was a piece that, in the fiction, was more associated with Sunstreaker and not Sideswipe or Red Alert. Takara probably thought the same about Slipstream, thinking "She doesn't use a sword," and took it out, replacing it with the new null rays.

Isn't the sword necessary to form the tail fin?

No, it did nothing other than store under her alt mode. In fact it was just slightly taller than her landing gear, so she had a tendency to tip to one side a lot.

No, those are on her feet. however, the sword does help to fill out the gap in her body in alt mode.

Well, the hilt did form a cool rear rotor that made some sense in the VTOL context. Necessary? Not really. But a cool addition in cross function of weapon kibble, in my opinion. Image

Yeah, considering tf fans b!tched forever about not having weapon storage, now when we get it people b!tch about how dumb the weapons look when attached to the alt mode (cw especially)

I really loved the multiple ways you could store the sword on windblade.
