Official Images of Generations Megatron, Soundwave, Darkmount and Red Alert

Posted by Blurrz Jun 16, 2010 at 9:54pm CDT 47,522 views
Official Product Images have surfaced for the 3rd Deluxe Wave of Transformers Generations. This wave is composed of four figures, two of them are from the upcoming video game, one is a repaint of a well-used mold, and the other is a brand new figure. Cybertronian Megatron and Cybertronian Soundwave are a spitting image of what you'll be seeing come June 22 when War For Cybertron is released. Red Alert is a repaint of the Universe Sideswipe mold, while Darkmount is a Classics rendition of Generation One Straxus. Check out the images below.

All of these will be mine. WFC Soundwave is just so awesome looking and I am loving the all the little G1 touches. Darkmount is impressive in bot mode but his alt mode looks a little goofy for a tank. Red Alert has been a long time coming. I need Megatron to fight my Optimus Prime.

Ok, Darkmount (Straxus) and Soundwave are going on my Classics shelf. If I ever get the MP3 Music Label Soundwave, I'm replacing WFC Soundwave, but that's another story. As for Red Alert and WFC Megatron, RA's going on my Classics shelf, and WFC Megs will go.... somewhere...

Slag, I was hoping for a red head on Red Alert. Well, I'll have to buy him anyway since he's my fav character from the cartoon.

I've yet to see anything in this new line that I won't buy at least one of, but as someone who still goes more by Marvel comic continuity because no cable meant I had no access to the toon from 1988 until G2, I cannot express how ecstatic I am that we're finally getting a toy of Straxus, the most impossible of all toyless G1ers to do any sort of kitbash of. But since his toy is a strange half-track instead of a flying cannon, let the kitbashing begin! I'll probably buy the first 3 or 4 of him I see. If he's popular enough to warrant knock-off of the mold, there might even be an oversized one I could attach Energon Shockblast's legs to...

Ah well, at least he's still big enough to loom over Action Master Blaster.

Now that someone transformed him correctly, Megatron looks pretty badass. All four of these will be mine.

WFC Soundwave is looking better. I don't know if the figure is growing on me or it was some photoshop lovin' that did the trick. Just don't care for his flat feet.
Darkmount looks amazing
Red Alert has been a long time coming for me. Can't wait to grab him.
WFC Megatron looks fantastic. Still am loving the blaster placement.
I cannot wait for this line. I have missed classics/universe..

will definately be getting these, and if memory serves, Darkmount can transform into a third mode that resembles Straxus' flying cannon.

Your memory does serve correctly on that one. Straxus is a triple changer. I will never call him Darkmount when he is so obviously Straxus.

Does Megatron have a third mode? In the picture it looks like he is a hover aircraft/tank but in the game he also turns into a ground based tank. The treads with the little plastic wheels look like they may support this.

Darkmount's ankles also kind of worry me.

Good gravy, what pure win on all counts. THat SOundwave is epic!

As for Darkmount/Straxus, it's nice to see another comic continuity TF getting love (besdies Drift)...I still have those comic issues...I know one was "Into The Smelting Pool" but can't remember the first part of the story.

EDIT: I noticed the article says June 25 for the WFC game. DOesn't it come out on the 22nd? Don't foncuse me...

Darkmount\Straxus is the clear winner here. It's a new character for the toyline, it oozes homage to MarvelG1, the alt-mode is cybertronian enough without being a brick with wheels and the bot mode is delicious.

I'm probably not getting anything from Generations other than this figure - it's been the most impressive I've seen thus far and my money right now can't stretch to whole lines of new figures.

Also, to reiterate - Soundwave still looks like a shit combo of Cybertron Soundwave and Brick-with-wheels. If this guy didn't have Soundwave's head and the crappy chest piece, we'd all be horrified by it.
