Also of note while discussing price drops and Walmart, the Power Surge three step Bumblebee and Sideswipe toys currently scan at $14.92 which is a huge discount from their $50 price point. Here is an image of Transformers: Robots in Disguise Power Surge Bumblebee and Buzzstrike being scanned.

All I know is, if a Hasbro Predaking is even rumored, it's time for me to ditch Feral Rex. Anybody here got $550 they don't feel like holding onto?

But I meant that you have a lot to choose from already. For individual releases we have 3 CHUG deluxe starscream toys, along with a legion a legends, and a leader, those last 3 all G1 based (and thats beyond the ton of RID and Prime toys too). And none are too procey on the secondary market. So I was just wondering why we needed another starscream when there was already so much out there and thought it was because we never got the voyager scale.
Then just say scramble city next time and you wont run out of breath. Combiner Wars was just a line, not a concept, it even included molds from before ad after that line (windcharger, the 2 seeker classes and Buzzsaw).
And thanks Goatsy, I had not realized there was still that label on Liokaiser.

It's a Combiner Wars combiner. Even without the name, it's the same thing. It can scramble with CW gestalts can't it? Titan Master figures are Titans Return to me, and the current gestalts with the same size are CW. I don't even consider Devastator really CW because it is its own thing. As long as its a Predaking that has the same gimmick as the other combiners is Combiner Wars, I consider it Combiner Wars. Even without the CW label. *passes out because of lack of oxygen*

I'd rather it didn't. I'm not fond of Transformers wearing fur. It just looks like he's walking around in a dead wolf skin rather than being properly integrated. One reason I really don't find a lot of Beast Wars toys at all appealing.
Also on the subject of Arcee's 'boyfriends', I've never really thought of Transformers having relationships. More like companionships than anything else. Maybe that's just the way I like it (and probably years of exposure on the internet having seen pornographic drawings of Transformers really put me off ever even considering it a thing).

Did you keep the receipts? You could give them back and buy their cheaper versions to get a bit of extra money.

You cut me off at the knees. What I said was:
So I am giving them a chance. I'm also acknowledging that I wish they weren't forced into the gimmick.
No, I am not obliged to fix him. I am also not obliged to give Hasbro money for a figure I find flawed.
Anything is possible my friend.
No, not The Rebirth. Never The Rebirth. I could give you a list of the problems I have with The Rebirth that would make your head explode. I am so glad I did not see The Rebirth when I was a kid because it would have destroyed my faith in Transformers. That's how bad I think The Rebirth is.
Now The Headmasters on the other hand, that is a good show. I have a normal attachment to that as I deem it the definitive headmasters story. And Hardhead does not have mouth plate in The Headmasters.
Plus I don't like how squished the face looks on Hasbro's head.

I wasn't referring to those, they arent part of the anniversary line. The 30th anniversary of the movie is just the platinum sets like Cyconus' Armada and the Rodimus/Galvatron set.
I am quite pleased with the headmasters and I think you should give them a shot. On an individual basis, I find them to be better toys than the Combiner Wars figures. They can do more on their own and each has a little playability ecosystem.

I'm happy we're getting amazing representations of the characters, but I'm not happy Hasbro forced all of them into the Titans Return gimmick of the line. As much as I like my TR Galvatron, I really wish he'd just be 30th Anniversary Galvatron. Same with Scourge and Hot Rod and Blurr. I think it would have been neat if they could have found a way to keep the cockpits in the deluxe class figures to interact with the Titan Masters but not actually made them Titan Masters themselves. However, as the figures were adapted to be Target Masters back in the day I don't find myself too annoyed at the change to headmasters.
So I am giving them a chance. I'm also acknowledging that I wish they weren't forced into the gimmick.
william-james88 wrote:I don't have a Scourge but I don't pick up figures I have to fix.
Your not obliged to fix him, I havent fixed him and I dont feel the need to. He's a good toy and a really cool homage to the G1 toy. I love the tampographs imitating the stickers and there is some really nice painted detail on the alt mode.

Lets make a long story short:
I first preordered them online at TRU at full price.
But I had rainchecks that I would exchange at TRU once they came in (for 13.97 so 1 dollar more than this deal)
They apeared at Walmart first so I bought them at Walmart full price to play with them right away.
Eventually I got them from TRU in the mail.
So I went to TRU and got my refund for my raincheck, getting them for $13.97 a piece
Then I took the new mint in box ones to walmart with my reciept for exchange.
So yeah in the end I spent 3$ to play with them a month early. I really shouldnt be complaining.

And right you are: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... ada/36310/
Ok, I understand. But then why not just get the Takara one? It makes sens that Hasbro would not be homaging The Headmasers cartoon when they had nothing to do with it and would rather homage something that is theirs (ie the toy). It sounds like you would be into that Takara Brainstorm as well, he's an awesome take on the Headmasers look. Of course, I understand how availaility of funds can be an issue when importing toys. I myself seldom import these days due to the higher costs.

I feel like this one was really overlooked (by myself as well until now) and what it could possibly hint at. So once Abominus and Predaking have been released then every main combiner will have their rival apart from devastator but omega is definitely coming. Now in fiction landcross's rival was dinoking. Dinoking is a repaint of Monstructor. Monstructor confirmed!!!

But seriously if this is real then it could happen.

With regards to Predaking and Trypticon?
My feeling is that each of the Prime Wars chapters is deliberately designed around high play value. It's a reboot of G1 that is sequential and takes the best play features of each era.
So CW takes the '84/85 bots and Decepticons and the biggest play value feature of the era and gives us '84/85 characters where almost everyone is a combiner. Towards the tail end, they threw in a few movie characters.
TR takes '86-92 characters and combines them with the highest play value feature of the era: Headmasters. So everyone from that era is a Headmaster.
I think the final part of Prime Wars will pick another high play value concept that came post-Headmasters. We've been getting G2 and Japanese mixed in along the way so I don't see those being as much of a thing.
What I could easily see the final part being is beastmode Transformers (both G1 and Beast Wars mixed together), maybe with an added Targetmaster gimmick. The only real alternative I could see is an Armada homage line. I figure you launch that with G1 favorites blended with lesser BW characters and build the line out to end with Beast Wars favorites supplemented by G1 beast characters. Probably handled in a very G1 beast style rather than organic with the BW designs leaning towards Transmetal style.
In keeping with Titans Return being selected as a name over Titan Masters or Titan Wars, my guess is they're avoiding the word wars (since Prime Wars itself uses the word) and going for a verb style name. So I picture it being something like Prime Wars: Beasts Attack.
This probably also bought them time so as to avoid competing too directly with Beast Hunters.
You probably launch the line with some retools like Lioconvoy, Leobreaker, or Razorclaw. Trypticon as the big robot of the year. Maybe a few exceptions like an Energon redeco of TR Galvatron as Megatron, with some kind of line about how he's taken to the skies to avoid the plague. You just sort of spin it that a techno-organic hate plague has forced most of the Transformers out of control except for the beast robots, who now reign supreme since they're the only ones who know how to cope with their feral instincts. Maybe you fictionally play it out that Optimus is working to combat the hate plague by working with the beastformers. Some of them want to be restored. Some don't.

I wasn't suggesting that TR Alpha Trion would be retooled into a combiner torso - even if that were thinly possible, I doubt he was stress-tested for the weight. I was suggesting that Alpha Trion could be repainted as Razorclaw and just sold under the name "Predaking". It's a cheap move, but I remember when Rodimus Prime was repainted as Motormaster and sold as "Menasor".
For the same reason, I see it as very likely that "Abominus" will just be a Doublecross repaint (if Predaking isn't).

Man I'm loving all these more obscure characters, so many getting their first (real) CHUG figures. Titans Return has been amazing so far, so much fun.
I picked up a cheap 12.92 Blurr last night at Wal-Mart in Edmonton, an extra for my daughter. She's five and loving this line, she adores the little robots and having them drive around, or get kidnapped by a gorilla, etc etc. It's engaged her in a way none of my other TFs ever have. Tempted to see if I can get prices at TRU on the ones I already have, but they were already on sale. Doesn't feel worth the effort for the eight bucks back.
Much as I love CW, any new Combiners are going to need to be heavy retools or feature some new molds for me to buy even MORE. Seriously, I have a representation of every combiner available, and the Sub, and Wreckage on the way, and hoping to buy the BotCon toys still.
