It could be worse.

It makes sense, honestly. If his specialty is going to be psychological warfare like in the original, what better way to create panic than by controlling the information of the world? That also means that he will be difficult to kill for the Autobots, almost ensuring his survival to TF 3. It's a logical and smart move (for a change) if it's true...and he always was the one to hang in the background and manipulate others. He could actually manipulate BOTH SIDES in this mode by interrupting comminucations and altering them. ANd he provides an important service by allowing the 'Cons to communicate globally without relying on oft-failing human tech.

I have to say, despite the soon-to-come outcry from G1 purists, this is a well thought out alt-mode. Wow. I also can accept that. It also is a bit of an homage to TF: Energon...

If this is true, the liberties they've got in designing a bot from a satelite are pretty far reaching.

I think Soundwave being a satellite is an excellent idea. Definitely fits his communications background. I hope this turns out to be true. Very cool news, indeed.

Not necessarily true. I've heard it rumored that Soundwave will be a satellite in his Cybertronian mode, but will be a pickup truck when he comes to earth. The satellite I can deal with, but a pickup truck?

Umm yeah, except NO. That's a horrible mock up and stupid looking alt. mode. It only makes sense for Soundwave, being he's more a spy and communications, to be a spy plane or some type of communications device. So a giant SUV would make zero sense for someone with Soundwave's role. Hmm, a giant SUV with a radar dish, doesn't really scream "Robot in Disguise" does it?

That said, I'm ok with a satellite, makes sense.

Tim worked off his ass with that, even into making a toy of it. The alt is fine, ugly, but makes sense for a military vehicle to match with other cons. Not to mention it's a comm. vehicle, gee, I wonder?

Anyhow, I think a satellite is definitel;y a good idea, so long as we see him on earth. A truck is good too. Maybe get a Saleen F-150? (I hate that I don't know the Saleen model name...)

Well i could say i'm suprise but i'm not. I actually thought that Soundwave could be a satelite but probably robot mode could be to ugly, so i tought some sort of big military comunication veicule.
Not a bad decision but i can take some conclusions after i saw it.

interesting as long he has a robot mode well actually now that i think about i was going to say something bad about this pickup truck rumor but i remmeberd animated soundwave he was a car so if soundwave does be pickup truck this would be an upgrade to the new animated sopundwave in the series as long hes not big like ironhide ironhide is big in his truck mode i cant picture soundwave with tires like that something with a sporty look will do good with me.

i like the satilite idea very intersting how big is he going to be those space stilites are not very big at all so he could be same size as jazz if not smaller

I mean, where's the tanks and other military vehicles?
We've seen... what... Barricade? And that wasn't even on-set?

It seems like the Decepticons are going to be all CGI at this rate.

And, if this rumor is true, Soundwave and his satellite.

While it's a little too late for such speculations, I had sort of hoped that Soundwave would be something similar to his Animated version.
Perhaps not a Scion per se, but a rather boxy car with speakers and subwoofers out the yin-yang.
(Wait... do Transformers have a yin-yang? I think Bumblebee did in the first Bay movie.)

In any case, satellite could work.
That just leaves me wondering what Ravage's alt-mode is, though...
Is Ravage going to transform into solar panel wings?

The one thing that really discredits that second part of the rumor is that no "pick up truck" has been seen on set. All the other vehicles have though.

Which suggests to me tha the new Decepticons may not bother with Earth alt modes as they're only there to fight anyway.

But hey, im sure HASBRO will find "Earth modes" for them all to make new toys, or even worse, an Ironhide repaint. *Shutters* #-o

If Soundwave become a Satelite, this doesn't leave out the possibility of Unicron on TF3. Imagine absolute chaos forcing both Autobots and Decepticons having to fight a mutual enemy.

But back to Soundwave. Interesting Alt mode. I don't think we'll see him change one he reaches earth, I just think he'll stay in Bot mode. Plus with the massive size of a satelite, he could have many minions.

Except sources are kept anonymous to protect the person leaking the info. The source is not "anonymous" to members of the staff.

If we told you who was telling us this, then he/she would get in trouble and then we wouldn't get anything. It's either info from an anonymous source, or no info at all.

Soundwave's bot mode is going to be HUGE.

I don't like it, he's either going to stay in space the whole time which gives him no reason to transform. Or he'll come to earth and have to stay in robot mode because a satalite is neither mobile nor a disguise. I like the comm truck idea, it works to keep him hidden and sticks to his comunications role.

Not sure what to think of this....

A sattelite would suit soundwave's profile as communications/intelligence officer..... but it WOULD mean that on earth he would have to remain in robotmode without any disquize
And he wouldt have to be able to fly in robotmode to get around/get to and from earth, something we havent seen in bayformers yet....
