As you can see the TakaraTomy version will include the Voyager Optimus Prime mold, while the Hasbro version would have included the deluxe earth-mode mold.

I dunno about that. But this seems like a pretty good excuse to get the TT Prime.

Maybe you could use Magnus' hammer? Ultra Magnus is one of the few Animated toys I own and I know it's not a Voyager figure, but maybe you could use the actual hammer to replace this one?

That's very likely. I was looking at an image of Ultra Magnus and the hammers seem to be similar in size except for the length and size of the head of the hammer.

If my memory is holding up, theres a tab or a peg or something that holds the hammer in Magnus' hand right? I guess if that wouldn't prevent this here Prime from holding the hammer it ought to work out ok. At any rate, it was just an idea. Hopefully it works out for people who feel the same as you Megazarak.

Actually, I own both Voyager Prime and Ultra Magnus, and am pleased to say...
... the hammer handle is too thick for Prime to hold.

Well, alright then. I guess that solves that debate. Knowing is half the battle.
It seems the other half of the battle is going to be wedging that Ultra Magnus hammer in to Prime's hand.
