As today we welcome a new member - Toys R Us Exclusive Transformers Animated Rodimus Minor to our world famous Transformers gallery, Takara Tomy has also released the Japanese version of TA-33 Autobot Team Commander - Rodimus to the retail.

Our friend Alfes2010 has got his hand on this figure, and uploaded the toy images at his toy blog.

That looks good. It's hard to tell if there is a difference in the reds on both figures though. The images of the Takara one are darker than Seibertron's gallery. I do know I can always get this one if I can't find any more of the TRU one. :grin:

Takara's figure is has a coating of metallic red paint, which might be why the color is darker. Hasbro's Rodimus is just red plastic.

This figure looks great, but not enough for me to buy a 2nd of this mold. I am perfectly satisfied with the Hasbro version.

He actually looks better in car mode than the classics issue. The Hot rod car mode has always been meant to look a little cartoonish since G1 days. But in robot mode I hate his huge super-hero looking jaw...

Wow, good timing with the galleries! Seeing this, I'm glad I canceled my preorder as I'd rather have the Hasbro release. Takara's too shiny. :p

Great looking figure!

The only thing that will make it look even better is buying my Takara Blackout figure for a mere $45 and putting it in an action shot with Rodimus.

That would be the bee's knees.
