Our friend and fellow Japanese Transformers collector - Alfes 2010 has uploaded 2 new galleries for the Transformers Masterpiece Movie MPM-01 Starscream.

MPM-01 Starscream is Takara version of Leader Class Starscream. This figure is given a brand new paint application that match the Transformers Live-Action Movie 1 version of Starscream.

The toy is group under Masterpiece Movie Series by Takara Tomy, and comes with a comic as well as bio card.
Note the bio card & comic might not be available for export version.

You can view both the galleries by clicking here & here.

Pretty awesome robot mode and detailing, but man, that is one unrealistic F-22, with all that bulk underneath... too bad the Masterpiece isn't actually a whole new mold that ensures a nice compact under side of the jet mode.

:CON:

Great looking jet mode, garbage robot mode. Nothing new. I do like the paint scheme.

I am probably one of the few, but I like the regular version better. I came to the conclusion that I think the mold needs the tatoos. It looks bare without them, imo.

I'm another of the few.

I'll stick with Hasbro on this one.

Count me in. I have the Hasbro version and besides the packaging on this MP the Hasbro is better.

Its not bad, but I can honestly say its not for me.
I'm not a big fan of the overly top heavy Starscream with his highly disproportionate long arms and short thin legs. I would have picked this up but his alt mode is too thick and stubby. From the top back shot it looks great, but any other angle it is way too thick.

The mold and design is by far the best version of the best Starscream of any TF continuity but I prefer the Hasbro version. Still, making masterpieces of large Leader sized toys actually makes masterpiece figures I actually like. Grimlock is the only actual proper MP figure I would even consider buying (I did own Prime but I thought he was garbage, sorry, and mine had a leg that kept falling off) but then I'd want the comic version cos Grimlock was far better in the comic than the cartoon but the limited editionness adds to the price. Bleh. Anyways do still love this mold. Superb plane mode and an excellent robot too. I just prefer the RotF tattoo deco is all.

Not sure why so many are crying about too much extra weight on the bottom in plane mode. Its a transformer. It has to have arms and legs. You guys want miracles. I think the jet mode looks hella nice. They made so much improvements over the first 2 voyager molds like:

1. No more annoying arms as missle launchers like movie 1 figure.

2. No annoying hands sticking out ther afterburner like the movie 2 figure

3. No stupid tattoos. (Takara version)

4. A choice to remove the cannon arm and get a identical matching fist.

Is it possible to buy that stand seperately or a third party copy of it? I'd like one for when I finally afford the much nicer tattooed Leader Starscream. Just like seeing that plane mode displayed on that stand like that. Best jet mode on a TF I've ever seen.

Looks awesome, but not worth the extra cost to me. I'll get the Hasbro version when I can.

Thirded. I would have considered buying it if the mold had been reworked to give SS a more streamlined alt mode. But as it is, I'm sticking to my Hasbro version.

I do like this figure almost enough to buy it, especially the alt mode. But I still really wanted some remolded hands with articulated fingers. Buster Prime got a bit more than a straight repaint, why couldn't TT do the same here?

It seems like that could have been easily achieveable considering how many people came up so quickly with really good mods for the Hasbro figure. It definitely would have been a nice touch, and it would have added value to the figure.

I think this paint scheme takes away a lot of detail on the figure.

I got my MPM-01 Starscream this week.

Does anyone know how to place/glue the white stickers with the Decepticon and Air Force logos ?
I can't follow the instructions in Japanese ... :-)

OOOoooooH!! I like! this version seems much better then the Hasbro version.. with soooo many parts and such in these super detailed robots, having him in the tattoo paint scheme seems to lend too much confusion to the overall aesthetic of the figure.. I like this version..
