Have to chime in again about Chromedome. He looks jaw-dropping amazing in person. Way better than I'd hoped... even seeing pics. Huge success for the club, IHMO. 2.0 is wrapping up for a strong finish.
And while I know a number of these 3.0 bots aren't for casual fans, the deep, obscure references and new characters are really exciting for me. Nacelle and CarZap are in my top picks for 2015. Mockup looks good for both.
I'm warming up quickly to Taratulas, too. New deco and claw hand notion are helping.
As for Krok and SerpentOR, they look like they were designed for those molds. Loving getting some transforming Action Masters.

Carzap looks as crazily-decoed as the final days of G2 were, as he should be!

I only want seekers and Carzap
Wish i could trade with someone i got a G1 Bombshell (a little paint is gone but its in good condition) G1 Eject and a RID Scourge (no sword and the pump tube that makes the trailer missiles fire is broken) which is also in good shape.
And i got Halo 4 dlc codes but i don't know who plays halo here.

Yea, OCD beckons.
I mean, I'm probably just going to live with them backwards - especially the arms. The legs seem more fixable, so we'll see.
My thinking is, if I can get them right safely, why not do it?

But yeah, if anyone has a good way to swap around Stylor's limbs ... please post. I'm afraid to go pulling on things given the price of these things.
There really isn't a good way to take apart and reassemble arms microns. That mold can especially be quite fragile.
Mine are "backwards" as well, but can someone fill me in on why it matters on this mold? He's symmetrical either way, all it does is swap which end a peg ends up on in weapon mode.

Between Hubcap (IDW 'Bee with Renderform head), Goldfire, and Nightbeat, I really, really like the mold. Carzap looks like another winner here.
Also, originally (IIRC), it seemed like the Carzap mold utilized Nightbeat's head - here it looks like an entirely new head. Is that new?
EDIT: in other news, I fixed Stylor's legs. You get a bit of stress mark once you pull the legs off (make sure you pull straight down), but a little heat (hair dryer) makes it fade fast, and it's covered up regardless by the lower leg pieces themselves.
Conclusion? Win.

And now you gotta fix the arms. Be very careful when yanking those off the shoulders.

I'm gonna leave the arms for now - they are much less noticeable than the legs, so I'm fairly content at the moment.

While I'm sure some folks got in on these just to resell at a premium, 1) I ain't mad and 2) You'd have to be an insanely quick handed and well prepared scalper to have gotten in on a "ton" of that stuff since they were limited to one per membership. I think of the dozen or so Megs/Wasp sets, you can go count up posts here and elsewhere and account for half of them. Same goes for much of the 08 stuff.
So yeah, if someone ends up with a big haul of multiple super valuable things, good for them, but it'd have taken a small miracle to pull that off and the timing window was just too small for me to buy into some theory of Grubby McNeckbeard Scalpsmith IV keeping anyone else from having a shot at stuff. These were high demand items and pretty much everyone got the club's email/tweet at the same time. You can buy stuff on phones these days pretty quick, it makes total sense that everything they had worth jumping on would be jumped on quickly.

Of the remaining items for sale in the Archive Sale, I decided to go with Razorclaw/Elita-1, Dion, and G2 Ramjet.

Carzap is one of those cases where I feel hypocritical. If they released this, the original G2 mold, just like this, I'd think it was an amazing release and it'd be one of the tops in the FSS for me. But as it is? Total yawn and I just don't care. Is that weird?

It's one thing to homage an official release, it's quite another to homage a non-release or cancelled product. They're similar, but the vibe is definitely different, so your ambivalence is understandable.

That's a good way to put it. I feel the same way about Nacelle. Use the encore G1 seeker mold and make it look like that catalog image, and that's a freakin' huge win. As it is, it feels like a weird addition to a Classics shelf when there was never any original version of it to begin with.

Alternatively, with the Club's products being so fiction-oriented, this is technically meant to be a Wings Universe toy rather than a Classics toy, as the Classicsverse and the Wingsverse are separate places, but I think the first point I made might be more compelling/appealing than this one.

The way the Club seems to be approaching this toy is as its own character separate from Windbreaker rather than as a new version of Windbreaker. So it can go on a Classics shelf as Block Town Carzap rather than as G2 Windbreaker.ScottyP wrote:megatronus wrote:It's one thing to homage an official release, it's quite another to homage a non-release or cancelled product.

I think there is way too much focus and debate around all the various timelines and their nexus numbers.
The club has to use their own proverbial sandbox. I get it.
*Focuses on the figures, their bios, their stories*

I'm just excited to have a very differently decoed version of a mold I've grown to like. That's all the reason I need.
