Quick update on Takara's AM-21 Arms Master Optimus Prime that was listed yesteday, site sponsor BigBadToyStore has posted a teaser silhouette that does appear to match up with Hasbro's Leader Class Weaponizer Optimus Prime. The product description has also been updated:

Grim Master is a cool name. Sounds like a Darth Vader type of dude. That's Dinopope, yes?

Also, more Microns are never a bad thing. Not interested in the Prime himself though, so will be missing out on these little dudes. Since it looks like he has a sword/halberd sort of thing, I'd say Ratchet's maybe Arcee's, likely his own, maybe Soundwave's, and Bee's?

Yeah, don't want the Optimus figure. Going to wait and see how awesome (or not) the Microns are.

I am definitely looking forward to this version. I hope it is similiar to the one at last year's Tokyo Toy Show. Prime needs some heavy equipment!

JapanWorld.IT has revealed the first image of Takara's Arms Micron AM-21 Arms Master Optimus Prime. Just as we reported a couple of weeks ago the figure is Takara's version of Weaponizer Optimus Prime with Arms Microns that can form a Matrix and gigantic sword. Images mirrored below.

Holy Shit, this is the First of the Japanese Prime Line Exclusives I'd really want. Kinda cool how the Matrix becomes the Hilt of the Sword like Prima's.

Under almost any situation I would just buy the American version of these figures but I like the minicon swords on this one so I think for the first time since the Car Robots series I will buy a Japanese version.

This is like a bassackwards Transformers Armada only this time around it's the cartoon that kicks ass and the toys that suck. I actually got a kick out of collecting a very large amount of the Armada Mini-cons and I have to admit that some of the bigger figures weren't too bad but I am not at all impressed with the TF: Prime line one bit and these "Arms Micron" gimmicks are underwhelming. That farce of an over-sized matrix is just hideous.
For those that are happy about the line, cool. I'm glad for you and you can enjoy my share. I will be sitting out on this toy line much as I did with DotM.

I'd like to note that the Matrix is no Mini-Con at all. Rather it's just an object the R.A. Micron can combine with into the Matrix Saber

And that's certainly a surprise. You know, I'm starting to wonder why Mini-Cons make things more appealing for me...

just realised that AM-21 is the one that's meant to come with 5 Microns. If the Matrix doesn't count, does that mean we might get the sword, the shield (3 parts) and the gun?

Different release. AM-21 Arms Master Optimus comes with the Matrix and R.A., while the Shield Microns and O.P. A comes with the TRU Japan Exclusive Battle Shield Optimus, a repaint of the regular Voyager.

And somehow I want both now. Nothing beats oversized swords.

Kapow toys still has a listing for AM-21 saying it comes with 5 Exclusive Arms Microns. I realise the one on show at Toyko Toy Show was the other one, but, if this one doesn't come with those, it means it should come with another 3 or 4 Microns, although I'd not be surprised if the Matrix counts as one of those.

As JelZe GoldRabbit said, the Matrix doesn't appear to be a Micron itself. Going by the amount of clear plastic on it I'm guessing it's meant to be some kind of light-up unit to create Matrix powered versions of the various Micron weapons. Now we've seen it, it bears a striking similarity to the turtle Micron from the volume 2 listings (the one with the Megatron blaster and Bulkhead fist).

The BBTS listing also still says AM-21 comes with five Microns, but it'd be a bit cheap if the Matrix counts as one.

Even if a miracle happens and Hasbro brings Arms Microns to the rest of the world I'm not sure where this Matrix would fit into things.
