They would then have no problems whatsoever with copyright as it is a kitbash for fans. When i look at the New Fansproject figures the insecticons they are basically them but much better made. Hasbro will see this and be annoyed with them.
No way in hell do I want to paint my toys.
I build a lot of models, and am pretty decent at painting miniatures, but they aren't toys. When a buy a transformer, I want to be able to tear it open and play with it immediately. A resin kit on the other hand, needs to be washed, trimmed up, assembled, filled, primed, painted, and then sealed. I don't mind taking the time to plan out kits, and put the time into them, but for me: Transformers = Toys, not projects.
I also think that it would degrade their value in a collection. These will get a limited run, and by having them all identical, they each hold their value. Once they are painted differently (and to varying degrees of skill), they immediately lose a lot of their value to me.
Besides, those who want to paint them are free to muck theirs up as much as they want!
