i have both leader brawls and i'm willing to sell one. i've been checking out crave's site. would that the best option to sell? how much commission do they charge for the buyer anyway? and plus they're doing $5 back if you buy this month. any mods care to answer my questions about crave.com?

I am looking for the original colours, so the green one. The desert colours was pretty cool but the blue guns threw me off lol. Also is yours still in its original packaging and un-opened?

Dont know what crave's site is, you will have to give me a link.

Personally, I feel that in retrospect the 2007 movie line has little worth going back to now. A few of those examples were pretty cool (Stockade FTW), but Arcee was a terrible figure in my opinion. Albeit she was better than her ROTF counterpart, a worse figure doesn't make a bad figure any better.

Plus a lot of the figures just didn't feel durable, like Longarm for example had parts that felt like they'd give too much, and if we venture onto figures that didn't make the list you have the original Bumblebee, deluxe Brawl, voyager Ironhide... Maybe I'm just too old fashioned.

On the bright side I felt they did real good on the redecos. The red Dropkick repaint was good, so was Cliffjumper and even Jungle Bonecrusher was an improvement, in some respects. Plus if you count the Walmart exclusive deluxes like Fracture, and Crankcase I'd almost say the line did have some of the best repaints ever made. Heck, Crankcase didn't even need a new head and he was still better than the Kup Funpub made.

Hope that doesn't make me sound like a downer though, it's cool to go back and think about these lines a few years later. Nice write up!

I have all of these toys and I agree with most of the article but:

"The movie aesthetic was not to the liking of veteran fans"

as a blanket statement, this is absolute bunk. I've been with the franchise since day one, my "veteran fan" status is well and truly secure and I can say that the movie aesthetic was very much to my liking.

I'm not too familiar with crave, but you can contact them at support@crave.com with any questions regarding their services.

I'll do my best to respond to everyone's questions and comments when I wake up from my slumber.

Really appreciate it though. Good to see people gunning out for some of the beauties on this list, and also good to see new collectors taking a look back at a toy line from the past.

thanks Blurrz! my main concern from them is the commision cost when you buy something.

and for MINDVVIPE, i don't mind shipping to canada as long as the buyer's willing to pay for shipping cost. i just figured i'd help a fellow collector out and i thought it would give them a peace of mind for going through crave.

i read their faqs and they require a tracking # for the items. and the buyer will get his money back if he never recieved it/got lost in the mail.

i wanna do some trading in carbombya forum, but i don't wanna get jipped doing it directly #-o

I still need to finish up the Takara Allspark line. I have black Arcee, but need Black Incinerator, darker Landmine, and well, normal looking Stockade. All of them come with miniature Allspark cubes.

A little wear and tear on the packaging isn't a deal breaker for me, the most important thing is that the actual toy is in good condition. I took a quick look at crave.com and am happy to purchase through that. Ill send you a private message discussing the details.

Great call, sir! For RotF, I bought Leader Prime because he combined with Jetfire, and I contemplated getting rid of my Robo-Vision Prime, but I'm so glad I didn't. He's a much better figure. I dug him back out and have him battling Shockwave, now.

I love that Longarm made the list. I have the Screen Battles version(or whatever they were called). Great set. Never bought Evac, but I always liked the work they put into making him a different character.

I wish the Fast Action Battlers had made the list, though. Ratchet and Starscream, in particular, were awesome toys.

I like the list, and like others, I agree that Protoform Prime should be in there. I got him from Amazon last summer for about 15 bucks since he had that form in the movie, but I didn't start collecting the toys until he was gone from the shelves in 2007. I love him! I pose him on the corner of a shelf in a Cybertronian "I'll take you all on" standoff with HftD Fallen, '07 Voy Megatron, DotM Shockwave, RotF Soundwave, and RotF Ravage

Nice work on the article Blurrz. I am right there with you, especially on the Arcee's. HOWEVER, I can't help feel like you missed the mark on the Hoist repaint. IMO, it serves as the ideal use. Even the head sculpt shares the 4 slats and has a surprisingly Non-movieverse styled head. This guy fits in perfectly between Classics and Movie.

^Argh, that makes me want Hoist...

Nice article Blurrz. You even managed to sneak in an 'eh' joke.

I think Wreckage should have made the list instead of Incinerator, personally, since about the only thing the latter has going for it is an impressive alt mode. And a cool head sculpt I guess... but Wreckage is just all-around cool.

I also don't know why the Deluxe Brawl figure gets such a bad rap. It's one of my favorites. Maybe people just don't like how small he is.

Hoist was excluded since he came out in ROTF.

Deluxe Brawl has a major flaw that prevents the arms from locking correctly in robot mode. I think they fixed it very late in his run, so almost all of them are ruined. The ROTF Desert repaint has the fix.

I Thought of those as "Gems" Myself. even if wreakage's paintjob made him look like the decepticon Ice cream man. he was originally supposed to be in the movie too.
not so gawdy lookin, but in it none the less.

Jazz, Arcee, Cliffjumper, and Brawl are hardly 'obscure' characters.

The idea, rather, was to highlight figures with particularly strong molds or decos which may have sailed under many collectors' radars. Also, keep in mind that this article focuses only on toys from the first film line. Many of the more popular characters (Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Starscream) who returned in the sequels received better incarnations in the later lines. I expect there's a greater chance they'll be featured when Blurrz--or somebody else--gets around to compiling a list of the best toys from ROTF and HFTD.

Dropkick IMO deserves the spot for the best 2007 movie figure, namely because of his amazing alt mode.

Nightwatch Leader Prime and Leader Class Brawl are fantastic imo. I picked up Brawl with Bonecrusher and Concept Camaro BB. That was my introduction to the movieverse, so I ended up getting several of that line. I still think Leader Brawl holds his own with current movie figures and he looks amazingly screen accurate in both modes. Bonecrusher is just amazing except for the size. Nightwatch Prime was one that I got because I never once saw a standard Leader Prime-I found many later but never thought they looked any better than Nightwatch. Cliffjumper is great. He has been sitting on my desk at work for about 3 years.
