and?
Why does being "rock", negate the possibility of life for you?
Well, think of it this way. Have you seen an actual animal of Earth that had skin or an exoskeleton made of rock or seen a rock that had legs, a face and moved around on its own? But as this thread is about, anything could be possible so there could be a species that doesn't have skin that's completely rock, but a form of skin that's quit simular to rock. Like the Turians from Mass Effect. I've read the info on them and their skin isn't exactly rock, but pretty close to it.
In other cases on what aliens might look like, like in the Star Gate series, some other aliens look exactly like us. Star Trek is another example. There was a race where they were completely like humans, but was missing a joint in only their pinkie fingers. the rest of the hand was like ours, except for that one finger. Where it bends in two different spots on the finger, they only had one spot. There is one thing I didn't like Ben 10 for, is that all the aliens in that show had powers. Except Four-arms making an exception. Instead, I went with the scientific way and said instead of having super strength, his molecular structure was more dense giving him rock hard skin and muscles that had more mass.
