Seriously, we can't possibly imagen what alien life forms really look like or how they function.
If life exists on other planets, it's evolution will have made it to survive it's environment, they can only be aquatic if the planet they live on has water, or large bodies of water.

As for alien life like us, or similar to that of earth? Well I think I read somewhere once that we know of around 1000 planets that offer from similar living conditions to exactly the same living conditions as earth.

Also I believe Saturn's moon Titan has signs of primitive life, or was it just the conditions for developing life?

I've always been interested in the prospect of alien life. I'm absolutely convinced that's out there somewhere. I mean, space is just so absurdly big that saying that our planet is the only place with life seems almost like a naive standpoint.

But the question of what alien life forms could be like is a much touchier subject. I doubt there are many life forms similar to what we have here on Earth out there, but I do think there probably are some. There's a concept known as convergent evolution, where two more or less unrelated organisms develop similar characteristics to another because they live in the same environment. It might not be impossible for other planets with life that requires similar conditions to our own to have beings that resemble birds for instance, because there are only so many effective body plans out there. That's why we constantly see similar body plans repeated. For instance, being bipedal developed in both humans and dinosaurs, but we evolved that trait separately.

For those touching on the idea of mechanical life forms, considering this is a Transformers forum, I say, sure, why not? It probably wouldn't surprise me if we found some form of life based on, or at least heavily composed of, metal. There are some who speculate that a life form could be composed of silicon, which bonds with a lot of different metals, albeit the idea has been shot down by a number of scholars. I say we can't rule anything out, though. After all, we only know of one kind of life, and that's what's on Earth right now.

So I was talking to someone earlier and he said that it was impossible that aliens lived anywhere but on a planet where it's far enough to have water. I sorta agree with him.

I just saw the Men In Black 3 trailer and I have to say despite what we think about aliens, I deffinately know it's not possible for aliens to exist that are drawings on walls. We talked about if they could live on a planet that doesn't have to be at a certain distance from a star or what they could be comosed of. But this is just throwing things pretty far.

Given the age of the universe, the length of time required for evolution to produce an intelligent tool-using species, and the tendency of technological development to accelerate at ridiculous rates, any alien species in our galaxy will be either thousands/millions of years ahead of us or thousands/millions of years behind us, technologically speaking. Thus, a Star Trek-ish "major powers" sort of scenario is pretty unrealistic; it's going to be more like either Independence Day or Avatar. Or Contact, but that would be totally boring.
I do not blame Michael Bay for crapping all over a huge part of my childhood. He just directed the scripts that were given to him. I blame Orci, Kurtzman, and Krueger, who seem completely incapable of concocting a story that even halfway makes sense.
