I've been meaning to check Heroman out, if only for the morbid curiosity of an anime based on an original Stan Lee idea. So the show is actually good?

An anime based on something from Stan Lee?

It already is best anime of all time just due to this fact. :x

If you like Gurren Lagann then I suggest having a try of New Getter Robo. It's a similar formula, very manly, the premise of piloting the mecha is that you have to be absolutely crazy.

Started watching heroman, too early to see if I like it but I'll give it time. I'm pretty hooked on a series called Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. It's pretty much been running since the 80's and is still very awesome. Used to run in shonen jump buts it’s moved. Current arc is set in the 1800's after the last arc had a bit of a time paradox.

I've been watching Bleach on Adult Swim. A while ago, during the Hueco Mundo Arc, about the end of Ichigo's final(?) final with Grimmjow, they suddenly cut all the way to the beginning of the Arrancar arc, a good year or so's worth of episodes. They caught up, by showing 3/4 episodes a week, and just as Ichigo finishes off(?) Grimmjow...

They just cut back to the beginning of the series! It took them months getting through the Arrancar and Hueco Mundo arcs by showing multiple episodes a week, how long is the entire series going to take to catch up?

This run will lead into the Amagi arc eps and HM2/WW pt 1 eps and quite possibly Zan rebellion. Oriignally the Amagi arc was suppsoed to start this month but I think Cn knows that since Amagi is only around 20 eps, followed by 15 or so eps for HM2/WW pt1, they'd be back in reruns. Most likely this decision was to give them time to get the dubbed Zan Rebellion filler arc to be included (which is said to be rather decent for a filler arc).

Fact is, the dubbed version was getting rather close (I'd say around 30 eps) to the Japanese version, which was in the middle of the Zan Rebellion arc.

Sow what's everyone's opinion on DBZ Kai? I haven't gotten the first set yet and want to know if FUNi's dub is good and if the new replacements are better than the originals. Also is it better than the original FUNi dub?

I actually just started watching DB Kai and like you said, it's awesome! I really want to get the dub DVD's, which from the clips I've seen of it looks pretty good. I'll post the links here if anyone wants to watch them.

I started watching Gurren Lagann. There's nothing I can say about it that hasn't already been said, so I'm not gonna bother with that part. if you haven't seen it yet, watch it. Now. No, stop reading this, go find a copy somewhere and watch it. Are you still reading? WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?!

I'm about to start episode 8, which I'm sure will be a by-the-book episode with no surprises whatsoever.

Gurren Lagann... Certainly deserving of much much praise, but there's one thing that really gets to me about the show, and that is the treatment of its characters. I was extremely embittered by its ending, specifically its treatment of Yoko, Kittan, and Nia.

When Kittan died, bringing a swift and abrupt end to his blossoming romance with Yoko, I actually cried. Kudos to show for actually making me care about their fate though. I really wanted them to make it through and do all the kinds of things one would normally do in that situation. Alas that really subtracted from my enjoyment of the remaining episodes, because it was all I could think about.

And then after having gone through all that, and having Simon and company go through so much crap JUST to save Nia, then to have her DIE in the ending drove me absolutely over the edge and I was completely livid! After all the **** that the show put me through emotionally I deserved a happy ending! God dammit!

WTF!?
What the heck happened to Monster on Syfy tonite? :-x
Dammit! Monster on Monday nights is something I look forward to each week, but tonight they're playing Street Fighter Alpha for the umpteenth time instead. Is SyFy pulling the rug out from under us on Monster, I wonder? Wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened...just look at what happened to Inuyasha on CN.
Ah well, my friend has the entire series with subtitles on her laptop if worst comes to worst, but it's not the same if Garra's voice isn't coming out of Dr. Tenma. :-(

Just recently started watching Petshop of Horrors, the story telling and visuals are impressive as hell, this should have lasted than more episodes. Also has anyone ever watched an anime by the name of Shigurui: Death Frenzy?

I just learned that the German anime industry is pretty much dying out with more and more distributors going bankrupt or cannot get new licenses from Japan. From what I hear Japan is pretty much refusing to sell any licences, this combined with the high price of most DVDs is bringing everything down even anime magazines are being effected, apparently it's a similar thing with manga.
I will never get the rest of Hellsing Ultimate now :BOOM:
But seriously the prices for DVDs are freaking high, they sometimes cost more than brand new Hollywood Blockbuster Blue Rays!

It would be sad for more companies to go the way of ADV...

I wasn't aware that Japan was holding back licenses, is that really true?

I suppose it would make sense though, when it's cheaper for the average Japanese citizen to import a US made boxset than it is to buy domestically, it would send all the vital local sales revenue overseas...

In unrelated news... I'm trying my hand at scanlating, just for fun. I'm really enjoying it so far, even if my translations aren't particularly good. It's a blast and feels really rewarding each time I finish a page.

The Ga-Rei Zero Blu-Ray boxset just came out...

No Tokusen 4 related materials at all... In fact, no interesting special features at all...

Another $200 wasted. >_>;

over 5 nights in the last few days, I have had to watch around 120 AMV's to judge contests for two conventions.

Of that number most were decent, in fact possibly one of the best crops of entries in the last few years. There were a few really good stand outs, and a couple of the worst I've ever seen. Not due to quality as they were fine in that regard but 2 in particular (sorry I can't say what they are as the contests are for conventions in August) just failed in their execution so poorly it hurt.

I cast Revive Thread!
So, Bleach...is it over? I haven't actually read the manga, but the synopsis I read of the latest chapter sure seemed like an ending to me. The Bleach Wiki mentions that after a 2 week hiatus, it's going to start the first of TWO new story arcs. Although with Ichigo being completely depowered, right down to his ability to see spirits you have to wonder what kind of role he's going to play.

EDIT: Ah, according to Kubo, there is more on the horizon. But still, Depowered Ichigo is going to complicate things. Although maybe they could give him an arc off so they can find a reasonable way to restore his powers. (And by reasonable I mean, not just coming back or through some McGuffin)

Tired of Bleach. The 'final' battle against Aizen and everything that occurred was nonsensical.. losing your reiatsu to become the most powerful.. Aizen turning into an octopus butterfly. There's plotholes among plotholes and I just can't stand it anymore. Pretty sure the next arc is going to be about the Royal Guard or whatever the higher society above Soul Society is.

Not quite. All three stories are the same to a point, but all three are different in a few ways. The first anime is more apparent, but Brotherhood also has it's own differences.

So, my wife and I are watching this series called "Shuffle!", a typical harem anime about a dude who has to pick from 4 girls (5 if pedo). Two of these girls are princesses of their respective demon/angelic worlds. Sounds fun, right? Panties, fan-service, lots o' tripping, and embarrassing situations. :x

Then episode 19...
In short, the harem doormat has a complete mental breakdown in a genuinely realistic/scary way. I mean, the next three episodes are down right uncomfortable to watch despite what would otherwise be the beginning of a happy series resolution. To top it off, the girl chosen by the main character appears to be dying in the last few episodes.

Brutal.

We just wanted to watch a fun light hearted show, but I'm impressed that not only was I surprised at all this, but that the show was willing to take it that direction.

Anyone watching Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (We Still Don't Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day), cut down to just Ano Hana airing this season?

Me and the GF are watching it, and really enjoying it. If you don't mind a little supernatural elements, give it a shot!

I did start watching Broken Blade, but I'm still waiting on the next movie. I'm enjoying it though.
