Do you collect other toys besides Transformers? Maybe you've got a Masters of the Universe collection you'd like to show off, or maybe you like Thundercats, Voltron, G.I.Joe, Power Rangers, Star Wars, Wrestling, or any of the various comic book toy lines. Please keep the discussions here to non-Transformers toy lines.

I saw micro key start cars in a Dollar General that were made in China. The Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS were made in China, and Transformers are currently being made in Vietnam. Why not have people over here make them for piece work instead and maybe save money and have them get distributed in stores every week? Oh, the five dollar Transformers at Dollar General were made in China; and I bought a Speed Shotz car from Dollar General that was for the price of their store name; and that's put out by a company called Ja-ru.
Transformers came out when we had a president who was right wing, so he was right. The democraps don't have a way to stop Transformers from being made in piece work places.
It's too late I already mentioned politics after fenlir or whatever said something, and Hot Wheels are made over countries too. A lot of my Treasure Hunt Hot Wheels were made in China, Malaysia, or Thailand; and I have a super Treasure Hunt that was made in Malaysia or Thailand.
The only reason it's being called trolling is because nobody knows why they're not being made for piece rate. Even for larger ones like Fortress Maximus who is the biggest, they could have some people at a piece rate shop making some of the parts and others making other parts, and doing the final assembly. I know that dart board parts have plastic that gets snapped together. I just haven't seen them doing the molds for the plastic on dart boards.

On your question.
1. Yes. All the great stuff are made in Asia
2. Why not in America? Blame the liberal policies pushed by the Democrats to increase the minimum wage ceiling.
3. Labor unions scare off capital investments
4. China and other non democratic countries have weak labor laws to abuse workers rights hence you get cheap (?) stuff like iPads, TF , etc.
5. Too much economic regulation on capital spending (already being addressed by PotUS
End!

Pretty much all of the above, but point 4, while that may be true, is best left not discussed here.

Speaking of not discussing, please keep political talk off the board. Those have a tendency to start huge flamewars faster than you can say... well, you wouldn't get the chance to say anything.

Please point out the rule that political talk is not welcome on the boards.

What about number 4? Just fill in the blanks and change China to Vietnam etc etc. Labor laws in those countries aren't that pro labor as in the EU or the USA. Hence cheap labor. Heck, just ask Apple.

Pretty sure the original post was trolling in the first place. Very few people are that naive.

Even if say one Transformer or Gobot figure was made in the USA and it was too expensive to afford, it could be an educational experience because if they had a toy manufacturing plant in the city where I live, I might be able to visit and see how certain ones are made. To me it's mind-boggling how the Gobot Bug Bite has parts that have had parts designed by engineers who are able to do that. I imagine if a person really wanted old modes bad enough without hunting for them online, they could get some machinery to do it themselves; but that would be expensive and require God given intelligence.

This is the part I find interesting/scary: These toys are made over seas and shipped here to be sold in local stores. Yet I can go on ebay at this very moment and find these same toys from sellers in China and the like. It seems half the search results turn up sellers from China. They may even be being sold by people working in the factory or with close ties to those who do(although there is no way to verify that). And they can sometimes be had cheaper, especially if it's an older toy(5-10 years old) than US sellers are selling them. And I'm not just talking TF's either.
What I've been told is these toys are fake or QC rejects. Yet, get one in hand and you might not be able to tell the difference. Packaging and the toy itself can be the same. Now I'm hoping the majority of these are QC rejects because honestly, if some of these figures end up being big money items in the future and they were fake, you might not be able to tell. Especially if you buy a figure from a US seller who originally purchased it from China or maybe they purchased it from someone else who did same. Or buy a loose figure.
It seems a bit paranoid but when you look at all the toys made over seas, and then you look them up on ebay and notice the majority of them can be had from China/Hong Kong/Taiwan/Malaysia right now, it makes you wonder what's going on. And it's being done with everything. Not just cash cows like the MP lines or G1 knockoffs. Seems like it will get overly complicated to purchase what you think you're purchasing in the future as these over seas sellers sell toys to people here and these toys become integrated into people's collections they eventually sell off.
I think people may say who cares, it's a toy. But there is/seems to be a mass undertaking going on with these toys and if they are being backdoored, at least the factory or Hasbro or whoever can clean that up. The other problem, if it exists, is not one that will be easily cleaned up.
