I've had it up to here with all the talk of women are evil and they just want your money and blah blah blah.

I just have to ask, what is it with people these days? There's this guy on the radio out here in California, this Tom Leykis character, who usually runs a pretty tight ship. I think he's nationally syndicated, but here in the San Fransisco Bay Area he's on 106.9 Free FM.

He usually offers advice to guys stuck in a woman problem of some kind or another, usually revolving around the fact that the guy has no spine and that's how he got there. I almost always love his answers. Right to business, pick up your bootstraps and be a grown up about it type stuff, but there's always this undercurrent of hatred to it. Deception is allowed. Cheating is allowed. After all, they'll screw you over every chance they get, right? Please.

I don't know what to make of it, when this guy calls in and proceeds to lay out this big long laundry list of how he dug his own grave with this girl who has a kid, and along comes Tom's sound advice of looking for an apartment, telling the landlord, and going ahead with the move. Basically owning up to your life before another kid comes along that has a little more permenance to it.

Then in the commercial it's "Come such and such club for Cinco de Mayo and all you hotties out there who are a 9 or a 10, send in your picture and we'll let you in the back where you can hang out with me and my staff and oh no we would never dream of harrassing or taking advantage." Then he goes off on "fat and fugly" like there's only that and a 9 or 10 hottie.

The short answer is, he's a dick so stop listening.

But the larger issue is that I'm tired of hearing about how soulless and evil women are. Am I just young and naive? Do I have to have a million bad breakups before I realize the truth? Honestly I doubt it. The truth is that young people just starting out in the real world, who are still trying to understand it, may very well do things that hurt others for their own gain. It's reality and both sexes do it. So if your woman pins you into a bad situation, get out of it like an adult, but then don't turn around and blame a whole gender like a child. Maybe I'm on crack but it strikes me that it's the guy who's the problem if every woman he meets treats him like dirt.

I've just had it with everyone acting like that.

I don't think women are evil, just that people are stupid and generally don't think seriously about a relationship before commiting, nor realise that people do change so what you've commited to today isn't what you commit to tomorrow.

I figure that a lot of the time the sexes don't understand how the other one, more or less, tends to think.

So the guy/girl thinks [whatever] makes no sense what so ever but the girl/guy thinks [whatever] makes all the sense in the world.


There's also the whole "women are sly and ebil and manipulate us 'cause we're dumber but they give us boobies and we have beer so it's okay" thing. It's mostly meant as a serious joke but I find it so tiring.


But no, women are not "evil". To claim otherwise is preposterous.

I do find it terribly frustrating when a whole gender is labelled under one umbrella term. Women are not evil. There are probably evil women, just as there are evil men, but women as a whole are not evil.

The day men turn against women, we will take feminism back out of the closet, so bewarned.

Seriously enough, it all depends on how mature a person is in a relationship (either gender!), so an immature person usually doesn't act responsible (like backstabbing and stealing), leaving the relationship in dust, leaving a person (if immature) to blame the entire gender. That is just not good. Nor should men and women become enemies, EVER.

A person has to "grow up" before he or she can engage in a serious relationship - and especially marriage. A marriage that would last a lifetime and eventually produce children who would learn from their parents.

not every marriage has to produce children.

and i'm a great feminist, women being the superior sex, should do everything important like work and child raising, men being the inferior sex should be kept as far away from important things like work and children, and should pass their time doing inferior manly things like video games, drinking beer, acting uncivilised(read football) watching TV, and generally not doing anything thats too taxing. women being the superior sex should understand that men are emotionally crippled and lack the ability to sense many things that the superior female mind takes for granted.

Well, I don't consider women evil, but I don't consider them the superior sex, either. That is a vapid sophistry that men my age have had to listen to all of our lives.

I think that the problem is, like everyone stated already, maturity. The main thing that I've noticed about women in my generation, is that they want what I call "convenient feminism". They want "equality"(I put that in quote simply because men and women do define that word differently), but they also want, for example, the toilet seat to be put down for them. That is a contradiction. Either we're equal, or we're not. Not both.

Another example would be my last long-term relationship. She was 2 yrs older than me, still living at home with mom&dad, didn't work, and could barely keep a C average in school. Put mildly, she was an idiot. And yet for some reason, I was always the "screw up". I was working 60hr weeks, taking two courses a semester at University, keeping a 4.0, as well as maintaining my home and a small business on the side. With all that on my plate, I still "wasn't good enough", and heard it all of the time.

Obviously, I'm a man of self-esteem, so once my patience was expended, I dropped her like a bad habit. I'd be happy just to find a female who doesn't think that the universe revolves around her whims. I have no respect for people who let their emotions run them, women included. And despite all of this, I still maintain a sense of chivalry and repect for the other gender. I just don't BS myself when it comes to narcissistic women. And believe me, they are just as common as narcissistic men.

Another brief point to make, concerning American women, becasuse I don't know how it is in other countries, is that they do honestly love being treated like crap. I assume that's why the radio guy was talking the way that he was. I get far more tail acting like a complete prick, than I do when I'm myself. They love it. Don't ask me why, because frankly I don't know. I just use it to my advantage.

It's not just American women, but I very much doubt it's close to all American women either; it still seems like a rash(ish) generalisation.

Short answer: no, women aren't evil as a whole. But, as I was discussing with a friend a couple of weeks ago, there does seem to be trend of nice people getting involved with horrible people.
She pointed out that she could think of several nice guys who were with biatches, and equally many nice girls who were with gets. Ideally, you'd split them all up, put the nice guys with the nice girls, and let the others just do whatever the hell they want with each other.

But it does seem that opposites attract in that respect - I don't know what it is; maybe it's just something in the psychological makeup of the nice people that makes them think they deserve to be treated like sheet. And obviously the not-nice ones are more than willing to take advantage of the situation. And until the nice people get a grip on their self-esteem (either through boosting their own confidence, or a swift kick up the tailpipe from a good friend), it'll continue.

The question whether men or women are evil is, like most people here say, just silly.

So why is woman-hating OK? Why, in the supposedly liberal SF Bay Area, does no one call this radio guy on the difference between giving advice to men to respect themselves and showing disrespect to women? Yeah, you can find women making blanket statements about men, too, but if you look across the board at what's acceptable in mass media, I don't think it's quite the same.

Pity that feminism appears as something that can be threatened to be brought back out of the closet. "Feminism" is a lousy name for what most feminists I know stand for, namely advocacy for political, social, and economic equality across genders. Feminism suggests it's about women. Gender equality movement might be a more useful and accurate term, and the first post basically expresses sentiment in that direction.

Women are not evil, but let me tell you, many American women are. The world revolves around them...they don't have a reason for this, but they feel like little gods.

I gott say the most evil person i ever met was a girl.....although having said that if the genders were reversed or if i was gay and she was a he-then she would still be the most evil, manipulative and generally twisted person i have ever met!!!

I go to art college, it has a ratio of 4:1 in favour of females, so i know a lot of girls, and there are definatly distinct differences between the genders. Often women are more cunning, etc., which is pretty normal as women are far more socially minded than males.........which could at times be mistaken for EVIL. I dont believe that it is, although it does make women excellent in polotics, which as we all know is the root of all evil so maybe they are evil!

Like it or not women will rule the world in the next 100 years so lets hope they arent evil. It has already begun, in Irelands last presidential election ALL the canditates were female (and we have more canditates than an american election fyi).

I dont' think women are any more evil then men... but you didn't see streams of men marching in the 60s and the 70s for the right to kill.... ah... never mind that rant.

However, this does tend to be my problem, guys, a lot of the ones I konw in real life beleive women = time + money, frankly, I don't want to be one of those clingy chicks and I'm not interested in cash flow.

With that said, men aren't that innocent in relationships either. WHy, just this weekend my mum told me I'd be lucky to get a virgin husband because "Men are different to us".

If that was in response to the question in the title of this thread, I would say that you are incorrect. To claim that all who belong to a certain sex are "evil" (something which cannot easily be objectively defined) because they belong to this sex is absurd.
