Yeah I just bit the bullet and brought both on ebay for 65.99 including shipping because I really want these figures... To add I already missed out on rts rumble and frenzy scouts.

I don't know about 2 (especially since the subject of 2 is being vocal about his displeasure), but I'm totally with you on 1 and 3. We'll know for sure soon enough.

If they are indeed cancelled, my speculation, and ire, would be Hasbro's leading off with Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, and Starscream. For Pete's sake - we've seen, and will see, several deluxe and voyager renditions of these characters, so is it any wonder that kids and collectors alike leave these legends on pegs? At least Swerve & Cosmos are receiving this treatment for the first time in toy form. Leading off this new Legends treatment is a risk in and of itself; they might as well have tried out interesting and eye-catching new characters to go with it.

That said, it's also about how the retailers feel about their spring re-set. Given the lead up to Christmas, winter is a really hard time to push new product.

Just, sigh.

We did eventually get the Prime first editions. But, we never got Generations Frenzy/Rumble. I hope the First Edition scenario is more likely. Regardless, I am disappointed. I was hoping to see pre-orders at BBTS soon...

I hate to brag but, damn I called this almost word by word this morning....

I take no pride in it, because I am not happy about the scrap, but I knew it was coming as soon as the thought hit my mind that the new deluxe and voyagers basically fill the niche. I did not call the deluxe and voyager waves being scrapped, that was kind of a suprse, but not ultimately because of TF4.

To anyone getting itchy to buy Cosmos and Swerve at inflated prices you are wasting your money. If this cancellation is confirmed we know Hasbro has mass produced quite a few of these two. They will end up at Five Below, Marshalls, etc for about $5 each. I would pay $60 for a Tailgate or Bombshock ( can't remember exactly what insecticon), then yes. They probably never even bought the molds for those two. The teaser pics are just samples, no different than the ones we get at my work for chairs and stuff before we commit to buying the mold. The only difference is our chairs prototypes are minatures about the size of an action figure.

Yeah, but even if the 1st wave was released, with TF4 coming out in May and the toys will be on shelves week after next, there was no way the toher three would be released. And then you would be mad because you could not make Abominus. At least this way you will not miss it in the long run.


BTW people, if anyone here is thinking about getting the new voyager versions of Optimus and Predaking at a fair price might want to do so. They are on the list as online only. I think I am going to grab an Optimus at least for my sons. HTS has them for $20 and I need the Menasor and Computron kreo's anyhow.

Might think about those as well if you are interested.

Retailers are tired of carryng toys they take losses on. I would assume that by spring we will have TF 4 & Generations Deluxes and Voyagers only going forward. Until the summer when Generations will go on hiatus for the sake of the new cartoons toyline. We only have two more confirmed waves to go to hit retail and Hasbro is pumping out a wave every month this year so far. It is almost too much be cause people are finding it hard to find the Waspinator wave for the sake of the Skywarp wave. I just say it at Target tonight. Meijer is the only retailer that got it here, and they got one case at the first of January. TRU got this wave too, but for how long as the next comes, with the Arcee wave planned for March. Better get them fast, Feb is a short month.

But, at this rate, if they release the Rattrap wave in April as scheduled on BBTS and the hiaxus wave in May, that would give plenty of time to bring in the new line. IF hasbro is not planning an announcement to cancel the Jhiaxus, Nightbeat, and Windblade wave. I think the Arcee wave is probably safe, but I also feel the lack of pics nor a former announcement for such a missing figure in the line to be suspicious. Of course, it might be the big reveal this weekend in the Generations line thus the lack of pics. The Ratrap wave is obviously safe too as we have official pics. And the lack of voyagers is very telling as well, seeing as we only have Whirl to go. But, what a time to be buying Generations. Never had a wave a month ever in the years I have collected. And for me, what a way to go, as i am not buying anymore TF's after Generations expire due to the recent changes. Not that I am bitter though. After all, these are childrens toys at their heart and Hasbro has improved that relationship vastly with these new simplified figures.

Personally i think we should riot over this.

Gotta love the fact that we all bad mouth hasbro but as soon as we see that jetfire on the shelves we will be singing their praises to the heavens.

Does hasbro do this to us just to prove we are addicts and are dependent on them for our fix.

LOL, no. I think they do this because they really want to release product when they plan to, but when you have toys that, witht he exception of Cosmos and Swerve, are just other molds that have already got the return on them it is not much for them to cancel. They hae no further investment in a Commander Bludgeon, for example, because it is just a mold that will need some colorant to make another character. Cosmos and Swerve are different. their heavy Asian presence tells me the same thing it did with Windcharger. That we will most likely see them at discount retailers, probably by summer. Hasbro has warehouses full of finished goods like these two as opposed to Tailgate and the Insecticon who never saw anything more than a prototype pic. Same patttern. And I would say same result. Save your money people. Unless you live far from a Marshalls or Five Below. Even then I remember picking up a Windcharger for about $12 shipped on ebay after the hoopla cooled down. Don't be "that guy" again. You know. The one that kicked himself after paying inflated prices rather being patient? Been there before.

And I would not get your hopes up about Jetfire, outside of a TRU and online release. There is no way Big Boxes are carrying it. Especially with the movie stuff taking up space.

If i have to fight for a Jetfire like I did for Master Piece Soundwave, then life will not be good. Only reason I got Soundwave was that the guy at Toys R Us thought it was for my kid. Once I corrected him, I could see him want to take it back away from me.

Ace Vehicon, Ultra Magnus, Swerve, and Tailgate are the only real losses here.

Even if they are canceled, I would think Takara would still release them. A big fat IF I was going to pay $60+ for these, may as well just wait for the ones with pretty paint jobs and would probably be less than $60 shipped.

I think part of the problem is much like GI Joe, Transformers now have a core 4 characters that retailers always want to see on shelves at all times. Personally I don't think Prime, Bee, Megs, and Starscream are no better or worse than Cosmos and Swerve; I just think the Targetmasters are the best thus far. I think the figures MIGHT have moved better if, and this is a big if, we had a wave of Prime, Megs and then Bee, Starscream.
