Yeah, you're right. I do tend to get hung up on G1 when it comes to the constructicons, though. I just wish there were six of them, even if they didn't combine.

Back to Shockwave, I have to admit he's growing on me the more I look at the scans... and I love putting the Terrorcons Terrorpreds in there with the Predacons, because it fits to have Shockwave experiment on them further and make a combiner out of them. Perhaps this is the combiner the TF: Prime writers were alluding to in terms of future plans?
