Weapon: Negative Ion Shield
Hey guys,

I'am new here, so this is also my introduce ;) Sorry for my bad english but i'am from Europe ;) and i'am focused on all Beast Series/Comics of the Transformers Series. It all started when i was a kid and buyed a action figure..blabla...i think you know how this story ends, hehe!

As i was a child, i get a game called Beast Wars Transformers for Playstation 1. I lost that game, and today i get it over ebay, for one Euro ! Thats a bit less than one Dollar (for americans here). I know this game is bullshit, i played it very often, but never get better than level 3 because it is so hard. I want to play it again and finish it and wanted to ask if anybody here finished the game! Maybe he can get me some help if i do not know where to getnext in the game ;)

In honor of War for Cybertron, I decided to trudge through the game a few months ago. Like you, I never actually beat the game when I was younger, well, without cheating. However, this time I persevered, and it's not really that hard of a game. It's more bland than anything, and has some poor level design. I have a few tips, but please note, these are for the Maxmimal side, I never beat the Pred side. However, some of these tips may apply:

1. Magic jumps. If there's a spot or platform that looks like you can jump to, you probably can, but it feels awkward. So just get a running start, and hope for the best. I know there's a spot in the Polluted Zone I had problems with because there was a gap that was an unobvious jumping spot. The Volcanic Zone has some really, really bad platform jumping areas.

2. Speaking of the Volcaninc Zone, there are some firey barriers. A couple you have to find a switch to deactivate, but there are others you have to jump through. There's little distinction in the graphics between these barriers, and got me stuck.

3. Another Volcanic Zone tip, the first level boss can kill you with ONE HIT!! Oh, but it gets better, as he can kill you before you ever see the blasted guy. Very frustrating boss, all I can say is strafe, strafe, strafe.

That's all I can remember off hand. If you need anymore help, just post and I'll try to remember how to get through that area.

There are two "hidden" characters in the game: Rattrap for the Maximals, and Black Arachnia for the Predacons. If memory serves me correctly, both are acquired right after you complete Polluted Zone, Level 1.

However, you also may be referring to Airaizor and Terrorsaur. In order to play as them, you have to collect a "Rescue Icon". These icons look almost identical to the weapon power up icons, only they have a gold square in the middle and have wings. Being a 3D game, it would be extremely difficult for me to give exact locations(plus I stink at directions), but most aren't too hard to find, just off the beaten path. I'm not sure if every level has one.

Anyway, after you successuflly complete your current mission, and if you've collected the Rescue Icon, you get the oppertunity to play the Rescuse Mission. It's an on rails flying shooter level, and it's honestly really fun and argueably the best part of the game. If you've lost a character before doing a rescue mission, they'll be returned to you after said rescue mission is completed. However, you don't need to have a "dead" character in order to undertake a rescue mission.

That brings me to my next point I forgot to mention earlier: DON'T SAVE IF YOU'VE LOST A CHARACTER!! While yes they can be rescued, there are some finnicky platforming sections and boss encounters that can lead to some cheap deaths, and since you have to restart at the begining of the level anyway, there's no advantages to continuing. The load times are pretty agreeable for a PS1 game, so quitting and reloading your saved game would save a lot of headaches.
