I... I had no idea... I'm so sorry for you.
Why, what'd you grow up on? I'm glad to have been introduced to the series by the one that holds the highest regard among the majority of the fandom (BW).

Oh and, FWIW, your opinion is not Word of God.

In effect, two VHS tapes, each with material that was copied from tapes that my mom rented from Blockbuster. One tape had most of Season 1, though the episodes were in the wrong order (since we had no idea what the correct order was and not every video store had every episode). The other tape had a censored version of the movie and "The Return of Optimus Prime".

I do not blame Michael Bay for crapping all over a huge part of my childhood. He just directed the scripts that were given to him. I blame Orci, Kurtzman, and Krueger, who seem completely incapable of concocting a story that even halfway makes sense.

Hardly. I got to see the good parts of G1 - "Fire in the Sky", "SOS Dinobots", "War of the Dinobots", "The Ultimate Doom", "Heavy Metal War", the movie, etc. - without suffering through stuff like "The Girl who Loved Powerglide" and "The Rebirth".

It's certainly a million times better than growing up on RID or the first season of BW.

...Not really.

Though, I grew up on the RiD toys more than the cartoon, since I was unable to see most of it until 2007. But I did see all of the two Beast Era cartoons, which were a blast from start to finish.

Once I did finally get to see all of RiD, however, it started off kinda slow, got more and more epic as it continued, with better characters like Scourge, Ultra Magnus, and Fortess Maximus coming into play, making the stakes higher and the scales grander.

BTW, Beast Wars season 1 was the first (and, until more than a decade later, the only) TF series to win an Emmy. Whne Prime won its two Emmys, they were just two of the exact same award Beast Wars won (only reason it won two was because of there being two people instead of one this time).

BW season 1 was crap... BW didn't get any good writers until S2, and then it really got awesome. Still not as good as TFTM, though ;)

Um, many of the same people who wrote for the first season wrote for the second and third.

And, like I said, season 1 won the Emmy, not season 2 or 3.

Yeah, but season 2 had 'the agenda'.

FWIW, I consider BW and BM a whole.

So? Len Wein, Patrick Barry, and Christy Marx weren't brought on board until season 2. Evan Sommers, Jules Dennis, Arthur Sellers, D.C. Fontana, Eric Torin, and oh yeah, SIMON FREAKING FURMAN weren't involved until season 3.

On a side note, Ian Weir, who wrote "Code of Hero", also gave us "Possession", which was by far the coolest season 1 episode. He should have written the whole series, if you ask me...

Sabrblade wrote:And, like I said, season 1 won the Emmy, not season 2 or 3.

And, like you said, it was for animation, not storytelling.

RhA wrote:Yeah, but season 2 had 'the agenda'.

More importantly, it had "Code of Hero" and "Transmutate".

RhA wrote:FWIW, I consider BW and BM a whole.

That's how I feel about Star Trek TOS and TAS.

Go watch the first two episodes again. They're even more painful to watch than the RID recap episode >.<

You gotta love how they try to take over and attempt to kill the humans and then boom dinobot turns on him! As for the "autobot bible", that was just merely a prophesy. I'm not sure I would consider it a religion even though they might have one. How can you not believe something your creator told you would happen anyway? lol I wouldn't really call it a religion that they believe in primus because primus really is their creator..so I guess yeah he is a god but I don't think they exactly worship him, just respect him. Then again..they never really talked about it so we don't really know. I do know that it wasn't a bible lol.

Exodus alone has a 21-page excerpt of it between chapters 15 and 16 written by Alpha Trion himself.

I Bought Exiles, not knowing it was a Sequel to Exodus, and then I stupidly "Mis-Placed" It, and cannot find it.
to sum it all up, I need both...
