You can see how they scale with the placards and the Deluxe cards behind them. This is Hasbro putting a minimum of effort in to keep Prime going until next spring when the movie toys drop. I don't know why they can't just let Generations take over after Christmas and let what's left of Prime be picked off to clear the shelves, but I am not a marketer. (I probably should be, though, because whoever's bright idea this was needs to be sacked)

I suppose if there is a Deluxe Abominus team, at least we can all pick them up at discount stores when the new movie stuff is out and not wowing us.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.

WHAT??? That would blow tremendously! Bad enough that Hasbro doesn't market the Abominus figures as combiners AND they get released MONTHS apart... but now they're removing the combining feature entirely???

Are we really relying on Michael Bay to teach Hasbro the value of combiner teams (STUNTICONS!!! WOO!)?!? :BOOM:

No, it's going to be $14.00 for an under sized Deluxe class figure with all the articulation of a Legends figure. HUGE difference from the standpoint of Hasbro's marketing team. Remember, they're still trying to justify screwing us over by shrinking the figures for the DotM line and charging 4 dollars more per price point so you have to cut them a little slack while they try to come up with a fresh line of BS as to why they are pulling this new stunt on us. #-o

Ohhhh, you mean how he included the Constructicons before and completely left out the combination... I know I'm being a bit presumptuous, but I can't imagine Mr. Explosions absent-mindlessly leaving out Menasor.

What, I can't throw in the possibilities of there not being a Menasor?

We didn't know the Revenge of the Fallen Constructicons combined before Bay revealed it to us. Without that confirmation, they could have been a whole new kind of Constructicon: ones that didn't combine.

Last year, we got two toys of Air Raid, traditionally a member of the Aerialbots and a component of their combined form Superion, in the Dark of the Moon line. Japan got the cooler and better one, and we got the crappier new mold one. Neither toy combined with others, and any fiction that had them in there made no mention of combining.

In the Dark of the Moon game, there was Silverbolt and Air Raid (using the body of the Aerialbot seen in the Revenge of the Fallen game). They didn't combine.

There have been characters that have traditionally been combiners that didn't combine.

I'd also mention War for Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron Breakdown, Dead End, and Dragstrip, but only Breakdown made an appearance in WFC, but none of them made no appearance aside from multiplayer in FOC.

You're probably right about the NOT-Menasor, as I stated elsewhere (another thread), but I'm being optimistic, with the hope that one bad Bay-Menasor will inspire a good Generations Menasor!

Still, I like your idea of FORBIDDING ANTI-MENASOR STATEMENTS, and so, I take you up on that: you cannot throw in ANY possibility of no Menasor. :-x

Good point about Air Raid. But to be honest, I have little-to-no-knowledge of Bayverse TF's, as I put as little time as possible into exploring his movies. I seriously have no interest in anything he does with TF's, except for my morbid fascination with the level of glee and accomplishment he expresses with the brand. What would Jesus Bay do?

I may be alone in this, and don't get me wrong, I loves me some Swerve action ("MY FIRST BLASTER" ACCESSORY...SOMEONE GET ON IT NAO!), but we still don't have updated G1 versions of Huffer and Gears yet (and no, the ROTF and PCC figure DON'T count). I mean, Cosmos is already getting his SECOND figure (and it's a doozy...makes me regret spending eBay prices for the Classics figure)!

Beast Wars! Yes!

I was hoping and praying Hasbro would dig into the Beast Wars again, but feared that between the movieverse and their Aligned Continuity and it's 'bible' that they never would. I'm so happy to be wrong.

Waspinator and Rhinox are MINE (although probably Takara's since they'll be better as always I'm sure :P).

I sure hope these two sell well in order to encourage Hasbro to do more. Imagine if we got an official deluxe Terrorsaur or a Blackarachnia that actually looks like a female and like she did in the show? Ah the possibilities.

Dear Has/Tak,

Thank you and please do more BEAST WARS!!!

Yeeeeeeessssssss :D!

Rhinos? Waspinator?

Skidz isn't a redeco/retool of Trailbreaker?

My tired mind can hardly comprehend the awesomeness.

As for Doubledealer; I was shocked by the choice of character. He's not really relevent in any fiction right now. And while I have no use for that mold a second time, that deco is gorgeous.

I kinda was shocked as well: I expected Flywheels, or a completely new mold.

As for the relevance, remember, the central theme of the Thrilling 30 line is "IDW designs". While this figure doesn't particularly follow his design in IDW, he did play a pretty big role in Spotlights Hot Rod, Arcee, Hardhead, and even had his own Spotlight. ;)

OK...Couple thoughts.

The whole let's blow up the Cyberverse figs to Deluxe and Voyager sizes... I am sure it's a sound business decision on many levels :ic$: , but come on?!? At least the sorry ass dumbed down Iron Man and Spiderman toys have a lowered price point AND there are still upgraded figs you can get :BANG_HEAD:

That being said... I am REALLY digging Smokescreen for some reason :HEADHURTS: Maybe it's the two axes and the simple elegance of the mold.

Now something I will put my two cents in about...the Terrorcons... Why the heck is everyone debating whether they combine of not?!? They are just upscaled versions of the Cyberverse versions. WHY WOULDN'T they combine?!? They are the same damn molds people!! :HEADHURTS: The ONLY question you need ask is will the rest be released.

I am still have yet to track the Cyberverse down thanks to the bajillion Bumblebees and Airachnids clogging the dang pegs :BOOM:

I'm a bit puzzled by these "simplified" Deluxe and Voyager figures being showcased. Honestly, PRID Bumblebee is easy enough to transform, while still looking like a good representation of the show model. Same goes for the BH Optimus Prime and even Predaking. They're not difficult transformations to master. Smokescreen is a little trickier, mostly beacuse he's a bit fiddlely. Are kids really having that much of a problem with these toys? I know there's been a big push for simpler transformations beginning with DotM in response to the very intricate and difficult offerings from RotF, but this is getting a bit silly. Have the fun of Transformers is challenging yourself. Maybe they're aiming for a much younger group, just graduating from Rescue Bots?

They've got minor tooling changes, like pinned in hips and shoulders instead of just ball joints, and most tellingly, the connection pegs on the inside of Twinstrike and Windrazor's legs that allow them to connect to Hun-Gurrr's arms and form Abominus are gone.
Image

It's possible they might combine in some other way, if there are plans to release the other three Terrorpreds in large scale, but I doubt whether they plan to do that. These six Cyberverse upscales are a filler in early 2014 to allow Hasbro to milk the Prime line a little more at low cost until they can ship the movie toys that they're doubtless working on right now.

Rhinox and Wasp and the only reasons I'll forget about these and forgive Hasbro for it in a few... dozen years. Let's hope these may end up like the FE figs, alot of us will never actually have to lay eyes on these in stores. First time I'll be happy about the horrible distribution! :KREMZEEK:
And after looking for a couple more minutes, at least they somewhat optimised the voyagers. If I didn't know better, I might mistake them for actual voyagers, I might even like them better if Predaking was in his normal colors and Optimus didn't have that godawful green grill.

Yeah, the voygers scale better. They already have articulation as Commanders, so it's less obnoxious than a deluxe that has no elbows or knees.

that new mold for the voyager predaking has it's good and bad points. the wings are an improvement over the last, but the legs look more hollow than before. The dragon head just hangs off the back by the looks of it which isn't as good as the previous which tucked away.

May be the reason why Hasbro decided to remove the combination pegs on Twinstrike and Windrazor is simply because the other Terrorpreds aren't getting a 'Deluxe' release?

But seriously Hasbro :HEADHURTS:
