CrazyDevy is releasing their 2nd upgrade to Energon/ROTF combiner Bruticus Maximus, as a pair of grey cannons for Brawl. They also state that the gun muzzles are military-accurate.

Love Bruticus with X-Fire upgrades. These look decent. If I didn't have so much sunk into other third party stuff, I might put this in my POL and save a bit on shipping. Still, we'll see closer to the release date. If I don't have much due... *shrug*

While these cannons look cool, they fail to help Energon Brawl look more like a real tank. It could have been acomplished by simply making a cannon barrel that plugs into the energon star hole. I didnt think it would take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

$17 for dinky little guns to replace the dinky little guns the toy comes with already? No thanks. You have to do a hell of a lot more than just provide hollowed out barrels to get that much cash from me.

That really sums up my feelings bout them... They seem to have some decent things occasionally, but they release everything in such a piecemeal fashion, yet for prices that I would think would be better for whole sets.

The whole piecemeal thing could be appealing. There have definitely been other third party releases of which I have thought, "Man, I like that part of it... but don't want to be paying for this other useless part!" But not at the prices CrazyDevy charges. For that price, I'd almost rather be getting some useless additional part I don't want... at least I'd feel I was paying for something, rather then just massively overpaying for the part I did want.

If CrazyDevy either released more together at the same price points they now charge, or lowered their prices a bit (for example, maybe only charge $10 for these rather then $17?) then I might theoretically consider one of their releases someday. But the way they do things currently, I just don't see the appeal of their products.

I often disagree with a lot of what you say, Rated X. (And... well, occasionally think you're downright insane.) But I have to say, on this I agree with you completely. This add-on is pointless. It replaces Brawl's guns with... wait for it... two almost identical pieces that only make the most minor of cosmetic changes to his looks. What is the point, exactly? Where as your idea of a proper barrel that plugs into the existing Energon port is one of those ideas that, once expressed, seems so obvious that everyone should feel stupid for not having thought of it themselves, sooner.

Well, people have already spent 40 dollars on for a combiner head by them that looks the exact same as the one it's supposed to replace, so yes people will buy this and then make a video about it witht he line "for just a few dollars more you can make your Brawl look so much better!" :roll:

And here I was hoping CrazyDevy died while I was gone.

Tell you what guys, Im gonna take one for the team and buy them. I don't do video reviews, but Ill post a couple of pics and give my honest opinion. 20 bucks isn't going to make me or break me. It might be a while though, because Im not shipping my pile of loot until I get the final 2 pieces of Uranus.

Energon Brawl mold is really crappy. Even the slightest change is a plus. I wish I could have gotten those Soundwave 3X custom heads for Brawl, Vortex, and Onslaught but I missed out.
