Slight change of topic, but I'm curious. For those RPing canon characters, what version do you personally view your characters' appearances as? G1, IDW, other, ect.

Well the Universe is mostly based on the IDW universe, but really there's no specific continuity you need to base it on, just as long as it's consistent with the character. You mentioned you wanted to apply for Swoop, right? The big thing with all the dinobots is the whole caveman talk ("Me Dinobot!"). I use Sludge and I use the caveman talk since he's the least intelligent, and Smokescreen uses the caveman talk for Snarl, but Sludge could easily go either way since he has slightly above average intelligence.

But whichever way you go just follow the rules and have fun!

Oh I just meant personal preference! I know this is its own universe, but I personally tend to view the Dinobots as either IDW or Aligned (Fall of Cybertron). Seriously, High Moon Studios has my heart. Maximum Dinobots is still just.... Nick Roche, man. Nick Roche.

So I went and read all the threads the Dinobots have been in while I was still deciding if I wanted to RP Swoop or not.

Love at first sight, man. Dinobots all the way. You RP Sludge perfectly. Adorable, clumsy, adorable, a bit dense, adorable, signature Dinobot recklessness, adorable, did I mention Sludge is adorable? As for Swoop's speech patterns, it seems that he's the only one that speaks normally. That was how Ember and Devastron RPed him anyway. Plus I tend to think of him as pretty smart, or above average anyway. Not military genius like Grimlock, but he's sharp. I believe in the G1 cartoon he was said to be the most intelligent Dinobot. But seriously-- I am totally PSYCHED to begin RPing with you guys.

I envision my canons in whatever form they've been presented the most visually spiffy--to me. That tends to be either Dreamwave for WFC/FOC related art. Particularly for guys like Shockwave and Cyclonus. I haven't seen the Fall of Cybertron Insecticons yet, but I'm sure they'll be neat. That doesn't always work when it comes to size, since there have been some pretty big discrepancies between companies, but in terms of general design, it's pretty much whatever makes your mind's eye happiest.

I love IDW's storytelling, but their art leaves me wanting just a little. Only a little though. It's still better than trying to reread the old Marvel issues.

Just thought I'd update you lot on my status as of now. As it stands there's no update on the status of my laptop...its still in bits getting looked at, and as it stands, and because of this...i'm relinquishing the battle chargers...

I must admit, Dreamwave does have some real nice character designs. Sunstorm shall always hold a place in my heart simply because I have a fondness for batslag insane seekers that have the ability to look awesome surrounded by angry glowy flamey effect thingys of religious fervor. It's like my recipe got awesome. Need more awesome? Add fire in there somewhere. Robot sharks on fire.

And last night we performed Time Warp. I got Riff Raff's parts. I was the only one people could hear, and I didn't even use a mic.



Edit: I am about to go off to our family reunion in Oklahoma. I have been looking forward to this, because my family is crazy. I mean, full out crazy. They are a mix of good crazy and literally crazy. I fit right in! I think they do have Wi-Fi, but I'm not sure. Wish me luck! (And hope I don't learn anything from my dead great- grandmother. She drove like Maude.)

I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be heading to the shore first thing tomorrow morning, and I won't return home until some time in the afternoon on Monday. Therefore, I will not be able to post at all this weekend. I will, however, have my cell phone handy so I can still read all of the postings you guys do over the next couple of days. I just can't write that much with it.

So, as the Terminator would say, "I'll be back!"

I wonder if Transformers have an equivalent to Memorial Day. A day to honor soldiers and veterans who fought and risked life and limb for their country. Maybe once they settle back on Cybertron after the war they would have something. They might have even picked it up from the humans and thought it was a good idea so they had their own. I don't even know.

I rather like road-trips, actually. So long as I'm not the one driving I suppose. Just hours of piece and relaxation with a favorite book, game, movie, or music. A small, familiar space with a constantly changing scenery. Long car rides are something I used to dread, but now that my family no longer does them I find myself sorely missing them. How typical.
