Classics Jazz

Is your collection as void of this iconic Transformer as mine was?

Jazz has been dealt dis after dis lately so I thought I'd show him some love, I mean come on. . . he made it all the way to G2! He DESERVES a classics!!!

The Prowl mold seems ALMOST meant to be.

This was a lot of fun to make once you get past the frustrations of Hasbro's lack of this top ten of all time Autobot.

Nice! Great reuse of G1 Devy's gun, BTW. Any alt-mode pictures?

That looks awesome. The only way I'd see it being more G1 acurate would be if the doors could be modified so they could be folded down so you don't really see them. I don't know your skill at that sort of thing so don't sweat it. Again awesome job man.

Sorry, the head is the head from prowl. I sliced off the little red head fins, and cut his eyes into one opening using a blade and a file. To finish the top of his head I used two plastic pieces I cut and filed off of the unused portion of the G1 Jazz missile launcher I used. I just carefully super glued them and painted. I filled in his eye visor with a piece of a plastic clip used to tie bread bags shut, which is actually a funny story. After exhausting ideas to fill in his visor, I decided to stop for a bit and make toast. It's not even painted, that's the actual color of the clip. Finally I glued a very tiny plastic square to his chin because Jazz has a more prominent chin than the prowl figure.

I really started with no idea how I was going to do it. The G1 head is too small, and the Alternators head is way too big to swap out. I even went as far as to yank my movie Jazz head off for a bit.

wow im even more impressed by the head now. i think what you did is a little above my current skill level though, not that i have an extra prowl to mess around with. thanks for the answer.

I customized a TFA Jazz to look more G1 (if anyone wants to see it go to my page and check my previous posts, or it's under custom figures), but this one blows everything I've ever seen right out of the water! BEST TF EVER!!!!

Thanks everyone! For anyone interested, I believe the Robot Heroes Jazz has pretty sweet looking head that is about the right size to be hacked off and put onto a proportionate deluxe sized body.

I'm not entirely sure what other Robot Heroes figures are out there, but it seems like their awkwardly oversized heads could come in useful.
