custom figures

Some people don't just customize TF's. Some make custom Marvel figures or He-man figures or anything of that like. Show them off here!

Who's ever given a regularly painted transformer a lame paintjob that you thought was cool at the time but now want it removed?

I tried once painting 2007 movie legends barricade into a prowl repaint. the white color camout horrible in several places and after trying to scratch most of the paint off to no avail and making it worse, i threw him into a dumpster. :BOOM:

There's several ways to remove the paint application, both yours and factory paint, instead of dumping you piece in the trash. You can soak it in 91% Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol, stronger than the 70% kind), can scrub the piece with Oxy pads (they don't just make zits go away), or you can soak the piece in pine-sol (though I recommend wearing gloves while handling). If you do either of the soaking, be patient and let it soak for at least 24hrs. Good luck with your project! :)

The DOTM cyberverse Barricade would probably be easier to do that with. White over black is hard to pull off without some serious coats/primer coat. But this white version could be pulled off. I've thought about it too, but I'm not a fan of his head for it. Too bad his head isn't removable.
New pics added as I find time.

I found that just painting over the shitty job with glossy model paint like testors or something really does a good job of covering the bad idea and bringing out the original. My proof lies with the big bot himself Nightwatch Optimus Prime leader class.I tried paiting him like a Contract Freighters Incorporated truck and turned out crappy. I decided to give him another go while repainting some scratched areas on my premium Jazz. That shit is hard to be patient with, but it pays off at the end. Multiple layers/coats of paint may be required.

My first repaint? I was younger, dumb, and just dove right in. I painted my 2007 deluxe jazz blue and orange with (Wait for it....)
Watercolours......
WATERCOLOURS!!!!
It came out terrible and scratchy and just plain ugly. Threw him away in like five minutes.
That's why Iv'e been practicing all these years later, with pro paints and enamels, thinners and whatnot, on models (Not TFs yet)
Like I said, young and stupid.
Iv'e not attempted a TF Since that incident.
Just a funny story...
hence the happy dance!
