It will be interesting to see who the fans blame if this version is bad as well. Who am I kiddin, even if the movie is bad the fans will praise it all the same.

Though my thought on this centered on how much it would make sense given that was designed to fit in with the original plot of Suicide Squad (Steppenwulf was the big bad of that film originally) and that was obviously changed.

I'm not very excited for this, looks too emo to me. I know Batman has always been dark, but this looks like it's taking it over the top. And Pattinson doesn't really have the physical presence to be Batman. Batboy? Sure. Batman? No. I think this will be the 1st Batman movie I'll watch at home instead of the theaters. I am a bit intrigued by the story and the supporting cast, but I'm not holding my breath. We'll see.

Supposedly it's set in year 2 so he's young and still establishing himself.

Well then I guess it comes down to his actual acting abilities. Hopefully he's developed in the last 10 years, I haven't seen him in anything since I saw the first Twilight movie, Primus help me.

Don't know how fair it is to judge him or anyone else by their performances in those films. Sometimes you can't rise above your material.

Love the beatdown and "I'm vengance"

Honestly I could care less about the Snyder cut. His take on the characters lost me back when he made Man of Steel. Just feels like he's one of those guys who thinks sex plus violence equals maturity. Not my thing. Still wish him and his family well.

I liked Man of Steel. I still think he could have saved Jonathan from the tornado and been fine, but otherwise I thought that movie didn't make big mistakes. Dawn of Justice, though? *shudder*

I think DC should have followed Marvel's roadmap and came out with the individual characters' stories before throwing that heaping pile they called Justice League at us. They got Superman right and Wonder Woman right, and then crammed the other 3 characters into 1 movie with them. I understand that they're supporting characters but I think both Flash and even Cyborg could have done well on their own first, or at the very least have them team up in their own movie to establish them before joining the others. Aquaman got his own shot, he should have just gotten it before JL. And Batman is just all over the place. I like Affleck playing him, but his parts in the stories are subpar. He should have gotten his own shot as well.

But all that is just my opinion.

Just finished the Snyder Cut. Did it over two nights to stop myself from falling asleep, something that happened to me when I watched the Whedon cut.

This movie is long ... very bloody long, but it's paced so damn well that you ALMOST don't feel it (I say almost because it's four bloody hours long and I had no snacks and it's been a long **** week).

I don't want to praise this movie, I feel dirty for doing it, but Snyder has done a bloody good job.

Possibly the most disappointing part is the Epilogue (it's broken up into five parts plus the epilogue) because it set up the future slate of DC movies, which will most likely never happen.

In particular, Ben Affleck's Batman. There's a story between the end of JL and the Epilogue that needs to be told. We get a sampling of Jarod Leto's Joker, not the blingy Suicide Squad version, but a very stripped back version.

This definitely made up for the crap that was the theatrical release. They may not have made money from it, but at least DC was able to make a decent movie for once.

Non spoiler notes from the Snyder cut:
-Cybord is clearly the big winner here. All of his scenes contribute to make a better character arc.Ray Fisher feeling towards the movie makes more sense now.
-Steppenwolf feels more complete and concise.
-Aquaman is good, but there are no major changes from the original version.
-I did not realizae how quippy Batman is on the original until this version came out.But he felt more solid as a character.
-This film does not drag at all.
-Its amazing the amount of scenes that were cut for the theatrical cut.Things that remain the same between the two version, are few and far between.
I recommend this movie! ;)^

Agreed. They Snyder cut is 100% superior then the movie that was released. It is worth the 4 hour sit down to watch it.

I have not read the story, but seen the animated adaptation of it.In my opinion,no.

The story goes out of it's way to punish to Superman, but other characters that also are in the wrong never get repercussions.
Batman and Wonder Woman appearances feel wasted.

I'm the opposite as I quite enjoyed Red Son, even its ending twist.

So, last week what I and I know many others consider the definitive adaptation of Batman turned 30. Batman TAS remains one of the greatest cartoons of all time. the gothic art deco aesthetic, the voice acting, the writing, truly brilliant stuff. And of course it went on to spawn the DCAU.

So yeah, showing it some love and appreciation.

I've only seen the series once. I remember it being pretty good. I think it's time to watch it again. Is the animated version of The Killing Joke included? As for definitive adaptation, I'll keep the Tim Burton films on that pedestal.

Killing Joke was done by members of the same production team, but is separate. Once they stopped the DCAU they started doing stand alone animated films, some original, others adaptations of comics like the Killing Joke or Under the Red Hood (I love that one). Then they did an animated movie universe.

Word of warning, the Killing Joke film added some material in the form of a prologue. It was shall we say, not well received.

I saw it when it was released in theaters. I cant remember if the prologue was added to that or just the DVD version, because there was some other pretty unforgettable stuff in it.

If we're refering to the Batman/Batgirl sex scene, yeah, that's the prologue.

Also, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited were just about perfect. Wally West FTW.
