Huh... I want to like this... but I'm not finding it easy to. Well, fine, I don't. Maybe I'll feel different when they show us what it looks like solid (rather then it being a giant ghost missile) but it isn't working for me.

I had Double Dealer as a kid, and to me the big freaking missile is an iconic part of his design... but it just looks kind of silly tacked on top of a tank. (And assuming it integrates with the jet mode, as well, I have a hard time picturing it being less silly looking.)

Meh...I guess I just wish Double Dealer'd gotten an original mold. Or, at least, had not been a straight recolour much like the Springer to Sandstorm deal. I know Hasbro needs to get as much use out of their molds as possible, and I suppose on the surface Double Dealer seems an obvious choice, but the execution falls flat to me. (Doesn't help that to me the jet feels wrong for a character who's flying mode was originally an animal form, although at least they tried to homage that with the deco.)

Again, maybe I'll feel different when better pics of this accessory are available, but I guess it is hard for me to like an add-on when the original figure doesn't do it for me. (Hell, even Ultra Magnus, who needs his armor to be complete, at least kind-of worked for me before City Commander came out.) This thing just feels like slapping lipstick on a pig, as the saying goes.

I'm hoping they do a bird mode head or wings with it. come on just the big Missile is not going to be enough! doing just the missle without the bird mode is just a cop out

Im good with this. Its all doubledealer really needs. It would be nice if they throw in some shoulder clips too. Bird mode ? I doubt it.

This isnt that bad.

1. at least its not a silhouette picture.

2. They have at least made the tank cannon look like a launch rail.

3. A missile plonked on top of a tank isn't that bad maybe just wait till a colour release before passing judgment.

I feel the same - it's the same problem I have with Perfect Effect's GDO Megatron/Botcon Overlord/ROTF Bludgeon upgrade. But I'm withholding judgement until we see the final pre-production sample. This could still turn out to be really cool.

It's a nice attempt, but not the whole package I'd ideally like it to be. That custom posted by Autobot Genocide is fantastic though. Something along those lines would be perfect.

I'm impressed by both efforts. The missile weapons are all it really needs but the wings and somehow managing the buzzard head? Holy cow, that would be cool. Doubledealer is one of my all time favorites from G1. He's Counterpunch if Counterpunch was a good toy. Hm, better watch what I say, I bet he's real nearby.

I'd probably get it as is, but I'd love to see the jet wings replaced (if possible) with bird wings and a clip-on chest that would slide over top of the cockpit.

Yep, took me a fair old while trying to remember where Id seen those clear testshots. I first thought they where the ones Fakebusker had created via Shapeways but they are a totally different design.

Looking forward to seeing some coloured tests.

Sinc3e it doesn't look like we'll be getting a better Doubledealer in the near future, and I refused to pay $400 for a custom one at Botcon, I put in a preorder for this. I'm so glad the shape of the missile was changed so it doesn't look as phallic anymore.

Not really intrigued by this upgrade set. Maybe I'll need some videos to change my mind, but maybe it's just because Doubledealer isn't that important to me so it's not necessary to get this.

Well, now that we have seen it solid... It does look a lot better! Almost enough to interest me. Still a bit turned off by the base figure not really working as Double Dealer for me. But I suppose if I ever saw him for a good price, it'd be worth picking up knowing I could augment him with this upgrade.
