definitely get an Insecticon vibe from CA-04 (a praying mantis in particular, from the back kibble), and even from CA-03, what with his claws. Looking at 05's left ankle (on our right) it looks like a tail-rotor for a helicopter. Really, I have no idea who these guys could be, if in fact they're based on any existing characters.

unless...random wild guess here...BW Predacons homages? Warcry has a bit of Terrorsaur and Inferno in his coloration. 3 and 4 could be Scorponok and Waspinator. The other 2 have me kind of stumped there of course, but it makes as much sense to me as anything.

I'm gonna be the first to say that I don't care for these new recolors. I already got the two expencive scout class figures, I'm not really down for more even if they're in shiny new colors.

Maybe I'll change my mind when they reveal their blacked out figures. I have no idea what they might be. Insecticons would be nice, but wouldn't fit the theme.

The Insecticons are bugs. Or, at the very least, purple, black, and yellow.

The theme here is still vehicles. And, possibly, obscure TFs. Personally, I find this set a little *too* obscure for my tastes.

You guys are right. I don't know my Micromasters (bar a couple), but for the Swindle repaint, the colour scheme and name is clearly referencing Growl - even the new weapons match his.

And Fireshot is probably correct too. Definitely looks like (a great improvement to) his headsculpt. Strange that they gave a Decepticon blue eyes though, but it probably looks better than red eyes on a pink face from an aesthetic viewpoint.

If they were original characters I may have passed them up, but I'm more interested now that they have pre-existing characters.

What will the other three be though? I don't recall any insectoid Micromasters, so perhaps the Micromaster theme will not apply at all 5 figures?

I'm not convinced from the silhouettes, mainly that Bombshell-ish looking one. But I suppose it could just be two limbs (CA-03 & CA-05). Let me know if you have a better theory Mr Blurrz.

Been waiting for the eventual repaints for the 1st two figures, but I am definitely pleasantly surprised to see 3 more orginal molds. Yesss. Guess that they will not be a combiner set, which is fine with me cause I wasn't gonna have the repaints in Combined mode anyway. That's what Bruticus was for. Also, just going by the weapons we see on the two pics, the don't look to be combiner weapons of the Crossfire sets. Glad we are gettin new head molds for these guys as well. Eagerly awaiting further reveals!

And causality is a word. The Merovigian in the Matrix spoke of Cause and Effect and used the word "causality" often.

True, but here we have what appears to be an easily overlooked typo. The banner readys "causaILty", not "causaLIty"

While the Micromaster guess is probably correct, I'd just like to be the first to suggest that these two could also be Mach and Tackle from the Multiforce, which could also jive with a Micromaster Combiners theme.

I'm all for Growl and Fireshot though, since the Battle Squad and Military Patrol were among my favorite Micromasters in the dying days of G1, the latter because I never had the combaticons, and they essentially were the Micromaster Combaticons minus Blast Off and any way to combine.

Looking forward to the reveal. This has me optimistic that some 3rd party company will make Deathcobra and save me the trouble of kitbashing one out of those LioKaiser and Duocon KO box sets.

I'm loving a lot of these theories. However, I do think the Micromaster theory is definately the front-runner, especially given the similarity of the names.

Of course, it makes sense that FansProject would release repaints/remolds of figures they've already spent. What makes less sense is that they'd create three brand new figures to go with them. This is probably just wishful thinking on my part, but I can see the rest of the Combaticons in CA-03 to -05. 03 I think could be Brawl, 04 a new Onslaught, and 05 Vortex. I'm not saying that these will be them. Just that I can see the repaints in the future.

On another note, as anyone heard anymore about Collector? Has it been shelved with the reveal of Generations Wreck-Gar?

I find it curious that this is called a SIDEstory, considering that previous fansproject instruction manual stories are not at all cohesive with each other.

Then again, I don't know what story they gave out with the Crossfire releases, so maybe it makes more sense than I think.

In any case, I appreciate any attempt to start building a single storyverse for their new characters.

More specifically, that someone being Venksta (also of Seibertron.com and the guy behind Renderform) who has worked with the FansProject guys. So yeah, that makes it practically official that the figures in silhouette are not combiners.

I don't know anything of course. After I read that the, "not a combiner" info came from a reliable source, it's a little confusing to me. All the crossfire sets have dealt with combiners. Munitioner and Explorers' intsruction book showed a new crossfire combiner.... Why would this not be it? I know Fansproject is planning that complete made up set the Glacial bots, and maybe that's crossfire 03 who knows besides Fansproject????

Makes more since as stand alone figures; no extra combiner bits and weapons means smaller packaging and lower retail costs. Opens up an audience they might have missed as combiner add-ons.
