Thank you for your advice, I will consider and study.

FT Shockwave was only $140.

Outside of their track record, $250 for BTS Nova Lord is too good a price. It just increases my skepticism of their work. FP (in my book at least) has a great track record with these things. Their figures are complex and detailed, and just do a great job.
On MMC Hexatron & FT Quakewave, I'm not seeing the logic in paying 2x as much for a figure that's only 1.5x the height (I know I'm cheating by not including the girth/weight)...
Truth be told, I have Hexatron and love it to death (one of my favorite 3rd Party figures ever).
Tsutsukakushi wrote:I just viewed a Few BTS toy listing from the BBTS site. Most of the BTS items seem low in price & high in quality.
BTS priced Nova Lord for $250 to compete with the low prices of Hexatron & Quakewave. Had Takara Sold Quakewave & Hexatron they would have labeled them MP toys & sold them for around $169.99 each. Hasbro & TRU in the states would have sold them for around $110 each.

Cant say I agree. If Hexatron isnt MP scale, what scale is it ? I try to sugarcoat it in my collection as being classics scale based on his comic book gigantic size. But if we go by traditional G1 cartoon scale (The Rebirth) Hexatron is MP scale.

Check out some video reviews for BTS items - that should give you a better sense. Most of the stylistic & quality points amount to "meh." It's hard to really tell quality by promotional product photos on websites that want you to go ahead and buy the darned things.
I'm not discounting the possibility that BTS has really upped their game; they well might have. I just need to see further proof before even considering a purchase (setting aside the size in relation to a Classics collection).
Hexatron isn't really MP scale, so it's harder to tell - I think Quakewave is a better analogy. BBTS is selling Quakewave for $160 - I imagine a Japanese import would cost the same. But you're right - a domestically released Shockwave would probably cost about $100. Maybe even less... since it's a "no-frills" character (Optimus had a trailer, Soundwave had minions), we might see a domestic release go for $60-75.
Tsutsukakushi wrote:BTS Nova Lord isnt oversized. The toy is suspose to be this big. Since the 1988 toy was huge. Overlord was the size of GodGinrai in the Cartoon. Nova Lord is not meant to be in scale with the Classics toys. Nova Lord is meant to be in scale with MP TF toys since it's labeled a MP toy.
Again, that price point was only for MPs with extras - Optimus with trailer, Soundwave with minions. Thundercracker was, and Acid Storm still is, in the $60-$75 range.Tsutsukakushi wrote:TRU has raised there exclusives TF prices. The 2012-2013 price for Hasbro TRU MP toys are around $100-$120

All I'll say on MPs is that it is not an MP unless it is slavishly G1-accurate, which Nova Lord is not. So this may scale with other MPs. It just might. But it is not an MP toy. Sorry, I'm somewhat (maybe not justifiably) anal about this.Again, that price point was only for MPs with extras - Optimus with trailer, Soundwave with minions. All I'm saying is that since Shockwave may not come with extras, he may fall into the $75 price point, as has been true with similar MPs in the past.

Says who? Is there a guide somewhere that lays this out? I'm sorry if this sounds snippy, but I get a little irritated when it appears that someone is telling me how I should view something. It's fine if this is how you view it, and make your decisions on what to buy. None of the rest of us have to do it this way.
Personally, I like Hexatron's scale in classics as it seems to fit well with the Japanese Headmasters. I think the dollar amount for FP's deluxe figures is fine. If I didn't, I may not buy them. It doesn't mean you have to. If you find them too expensive, I can understand that too.
On BTS, didn't they produce a G.I.Joe version of OP (and a green re-color) that was utterly crap for quality? I don't recall for sure if it was them. If it was, then, in my opinion, they need to show vast improvement before I would consider Overlord at the prices they are charging.
For now, I cannot wait until Brainstorm is mine. I look forward to anyone who gets these soon and can post some pics. I swear I heard something about an optional faceplate, and I'd love confirmation one way or the other from someone who has this in hand.

I maintain that there is no such thing as a 3rd Party Masterpiece toy. You are never going to convince me otherwise. Toys like Quakewave may fit into a MP collection, but it is not an MP toy, in my humble opinion.Tsutsukakushi wrote:What defines a 3rd party Masterpiece Transformer toy is higher Sculpt,More articulation & looking somewhat like the original version. Hexatron,Quakewave,Nova Lord & almost all the 3rd party combiners have all of this.
I would like to see pictures of this.Tsutsukakushi wrote:MP Thundercracker,MP Acid storm & MP Soundwave are a size smaller than Hexatron & Quakewave. Smaller size dictates less price. TRU MP Soundwave with the cassettes bumps up to Hexatron's & Quakewaves size price.
You really have no way of knowing this. Please back this up with proof.Tsutsukakushi wrote:Had Hasbro sold MP 10 Optimus,Minus the Trailer. TRU's 2012 price would have been around $85-$90. since it's a size bigger than the MP seekers & Soundwave. The toy cost $119 due to the Trailer.
If you count Hexatron's kibble, yea, it might be taller than MP Soundwave. But if we're measuring the top of their heads, Hexatron is shorter, which is by no means show accurate - Sixshot is at least a head taller than Galvatron/Soundwave in most depictions of the character. The reason I said that Quakewave was a better analogy, above, is that he and Soundwave are about the same height - Quakewave is actually in MP scale, even if I don't consider the toy itself an MP.Tsutsukakushi wrote:Let not forget Hextron & Quakewave are almost Eleven inches tall & much bulkier than MP 09 & 10 who are around Nine inches tall. While the MP seekers & MP Soundwave clock in around Eight inches tall. Size always dictates more or less price. Also,Hextron has more parts due to his Six modes. While Quakewave has more electronics & light up features than any MP TF toy Takara has created. All these extras Plus taller height & more bulk raises the MP TF toy price if Hasbro were to sell these toys at TRU.
