Oh yeah, nabbed the game and the extras to boot.

Picked up a tri-pack of FO, FO2, and Fo:Tactics. Couldn't really get into Fo or Fo2 and never tried tactics. Guess I got too used to the FO3 game style.

I have that set, too, but I wasn't going to say no to GOG, dat compatibility, and dem extras.

Microsoft Flight [PC]:
Not bad for free. I'm glad to see they're still keeping their MS Flight Sim franchise around, even though this one is a much smaller scale than previous games. Call it Flight Slim Light.

Reached Level 2, got three Achievements (it features GFWL support, if that means anything). Playing with the Sidewinder joystick that was purchased for Flight Sim 2000.

Halo 2 [PC]:
Punched out that prophet and ran like a bitch. Currently at the Flooded level where the Arbiter's looking for stuff.

Xenoblade Chronicles [Wii]:
HHHGNGHGHNGHGGNHGGHHHH. You heard me.

About 7 hours in. Exploring, meeting NPCs, hunting for collectibles to fill out my Collectopedia and get reward items (only missing one insect for the Colony 9 page). Trying to clear up as many side quests as I can. Story-wise, the party is inside the cave near the Colony, looking for the sources of ether that is needed to fix up that military hardware.

I think Fiora's introduction could've been handled better. I know that she is the younger sister of Dunban, the heroic warrior who was injured in battle, but the game does not mention this until later. So if you're not aware they're siblings, you might wonder, "How the hell hyperpimp is Dunban to have semi-clothed jailbait bring him food in bed and follow his commands?"

Also, save before doing Heart-to-Hearts so that you can load and check out all of the dialogue.

Fallout 3:
Picked up Dogmeat and Charon, because I wanted more backup. Went to Vault 112, and went all Pleasantville on it. Finally reunited with Liam Neeson Dad, and helped get Project Purity back up.

Then the Enclave showed up, and to stop them from taking over Project Purity, Liam Neeson Dad went all Wrath of Khan. Escaped with the other scientists, and wound up at the Brotherhood of Steel's HQ. So now we're all going to band together and do something I've never really tried doing before: Kicking the US Government's ass.

All while having a red-white-and-blue giant super robot spouting anti-communist jingo and tossing nukes like football. War is hell, but also entertaining. 8)

I was never big on follower in these games, or even in skyrim. I focused on styealth and a follower tends to screw that up.

Optimus was a good Prime and all but he doesn't throw nukes around like footballs.

I was focused more on hurting things, and Followers either help with that, or at least soak up bullets so I don't have to. Especially in Skyrim, where the only thing that can really kill them is friendly fire.

Nuclear footballs are the right of all sentient beings.... well, sociopaths at least. but they have a right to live too.

Sin and Punishment: Star successor
Cleared stage 6. That was it.
That doesn't sound like much, but here's the synopsis
- shooting section
- fighting a giant lava submarine
- shooting section where I melee giant bulls into background enemies
- on train section being chased by a giant bull creature. Defeated by unlinking rail cars so they careen back into him.
- boss had a baby. Baby then took command of a crane, caught my partner, and went fly fishing in lava.
- boss fight against the baby which is basically a 30 foot Goron.
- Shooting section.
- found a boss. He just sat there while I played a game of "try to see the background" through the bullets and enemies on screen.
- Fought boss and his giant pet shadow dragon in a floating minefield.
- fought the same boss a 3rd time, only now it's a fighting game, I don't have a gun, and he has turned into Guile from Street fighter.

whew...

I've only completed Warrior Within of the two, still need to start on The Two Thrones. WW is decent, although the chase scenes get really annoying as there's hardly room for error. On the plus side, the fights are a lot more gruesome with actual blood and the occasional "show-off slowdown" after you either decapitate or slice an enemy in half, and certain areas get revisited making the game less linear.

Be warned though, the GameCube version seems to suffer from music cutting off in some places, and totally freezing after the credits are done, a common bug with the Nintendo versions.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1 (plus repro Victorion hands and feet?)

Warrior Within completely destroyed the atmosphere, turning it from a bright Arabian Nights with fun, likable characters into stupid generic grimdark. People say it had superior combat but I have to wonder if they're talking about WW at all; there was more variety of moves, sure, and you didn't have to perform the Dagger finisher, but that cinematic fluidity was just gone, and that was the best part of Sands of Time's combat. To say nothing of the massive shift in character in the Prince; he became an angst-ridden Kratos knockoff, losing everything that made him fun in the first game. (Include his Die Hard style sarcastic rants)

Sands of Time, by the way, is still one of my favorite games of all time.

Two Thrones fared a bit better, though. They fixed the characterization, at least, but the combat is the same as WW. I still recommend playing both of them, though.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim:
Did a few quests; finished up the Companions questline, as well as doing Daedric Quests for Malacath and Boethiah. Bought the house in Solitude, along with all the upgrades, so I guess Solitude is now my base of operations. Also kept getting Word Wall locations from Arngeir, leading to a bunch of new words, as well as a bunch of dead dragons guarding several of the walls, and one instance, leading me to a Dragon Priest, Vokun. Another Mask for my trophy case, it seems, that makes four.

I hear they bring back alot of that character in the later console releases of 2008 and so on. I know they arnt continuations of the story, but I hear alot of praise from the more recent titles. I liked his sarcasm though. I think my favorite was when he said he'd lake to see her fit under this gate, then she crawls through a hole. so on and so on. Still, If the games are really worth playing, I have all three downloaded.

I haven't played the 2008 game, I still want to, though. Forgotten Sands actually is supposed to take place between Sands of Time and Warrior Within. The weird thing is, it's a movie tie-in, and not a movie tie-in at the same time. The bad part about it is that they did that instead of doing a proper ending to the 2008 game. Instead, they released an extended DLC ending for the '08 game, turning the downer ending into...a bigger downer ending.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim:
Completed two more Daedric Quests, for Mephala and Clavicus Vile. While doing Vile's quest, I left Ebony Blade in my house, sitting against a bookshelf. I get back to place the Masque of Clavicus Vile on a Mannequin to find the Ebony Blade is just gone. So there is an evil sword loose somewhere in my house.

That's not supposed to happen!

Oh well, I'm sure it'll turn up somewhere. Hopefully not soaked in my wife's blood. That would be a bummer.

Next up, Hircine's quest.

Just started Hircine's quest. Got the cursed ring, THEN decided I should be a werewolf. I'm a werewolf now, BTW.

I despised the 2008 version. I was just so completely bored with it. It picked up towards the end when the story elements actually started coming forward, but the roaming star-collecting was mind-numbing.

So I just started The Warrior Within. 2 words: You BITCH!
I don't like the personality change at all, but the bosses and enemies, packed together with the re-vamped combat make for a fun experience, even if he went from the fun loving flirty Prince to a mopey emo.

Damn straight. Brofist.

If anyone signed up for the Guild Wars 2 beta, heads up. There was a stress test tonight and I'm guessing there'll be another one soon, so if you haven't got your invite, keep dem fingers crossed.

Halo 3: ODST [360]:
I got something in the mail today and it goes pew-pew. A new laser for my 360 Slim's optical drive. So far, it seems to working good-as-if-not-better-than new.

Found the first healing station since I'm not entirely blind and waltzed around the city for a bit. They seriously should've just kept this game's original "Recon" title.

Microsoft Flight [PC]:
Not having as much fun as I would have liked due to technical issues preventing my buddy and I from being able to play the multiplayer as it was intended. It keeps not letting us see each other on the map and HUD, even though we set it to do just that.

Burnout Paradise [PC]:
Finished about 30 of the 2-player Freeburn Challenges. In singleplayer, got the SI-7 and the Vegas.

Also, if any of you PC d00ds want to try out to unavailable-because-they-shut-the-store-down DLC cars, this might be for you. It works as advertised and is delicious. Just back up your save file first.

Beat the game as ISA. Last level was nothing but boss fights, and really intense ones.
I'd like to go back for a playthrough as Kachi, but I've got too many other games on the backburner. This is definitely one I'll come back to when time permits. This game kicks all sorts of you-know what.

Seriously, I got this in a bargain bin for $10. if you have a Wii, buy this game. :D

I'd like to go back for a playthrough as Kachi, but I've got too many other games on the backburner. This is definitely one I'll come back to when time permits. This game kicks all sorts of you-know what.

Seriously, I got this in a bargain bin for $10. if you have a Wii, buy this game. :D

THIS. Also, have you checked out the saved game data screen in the Wii's System menu? The S&P saved data has an animated icon (looks like a Kachi keychain swaying) and in the field where the developer/publisher information is usually displayed, it says "What makes us human?" I dug that.

Assassin's Creed Revelations:

I finally beat this game after a long period of not feeling like it. It ended abruptly after an awesome scene of the First Civilization's destruction. It answered no questions and the game basically had no point to it. I'm just glad it's over.

Mass Effect 3:

I also beat Mass Effect 3 for the 4th time today. This was the first time I beat it without my main save and I didn't give a damn who lived or died.Because everyone dies after the game is over anyway. More pointlessness.

Except for, you know, that being entirely false if you actually put effort into the game. Depending on the ending Joker and EDI, at least, are shown to be just fine, and they were placed in the same situation as the rest of the Normandy, so there's no reason to assume everyone else is dead. Except Shepard and, again, depending on the ending, that's only a maybe.

Star Wars: The Old Republic:
Just while I was thinking of getting back into this, Bioware gives me a free week to celebrate the Version 1.2 Patch. Which has been pretty pimp so far. (I can recolor equipment so I don't always look like a gaudy nightmare!)

Mostly playing as my Inquisitor (AKA, That Sadistic Bitch) on Alderaan. (Which, according to someone on my Steam friends list, was terraformed by the Empire and then destroyed by the Republic. Don't worry, I banned him from Star Wars discussion, especially after he claimed he doesn't care about the movies, and I mean he doesn't care about the original trilogy) Slaughtered my way though a group of assassins, got a Jedi's phone number, then killed him in cold blood for a key he had that I wanted.

Next up...a Jedi Enclave...hoo boy...

Edi only survives if you pick the "synthesis" ending and I refuse to chose that or "control". And they're all stranded on a random island planet where they will starve to death. Plus all the people and races you left stranded on earth after the relays explode. And in the Arrival DLC, when a relay explodes, it destroys an entire system. Bioware came out and said that this time, they didn't destroy the systems, but how where we supposed to know that? And in all my playthroughs Garrus and Tali are always the ones who walk out alive, but they're still stranded on a planet with no civilization. That and the "Starchild's" logic was flawed.

She appears in all three endings, even Destroy if you did things right.

SlyTF1 wrote:And they're all stranded on a random island planet where they will starve to death.

basic survival skills would ensure that no, they do not.

SlyTF1 wrote:Plus all the people and races you left stranded on earth after the relays explode.

What does that even mean? The Turians can't go back to Palaven, so they just drop dead? That's not actually how things work.

SlyTF1 wrote:And in the Arrival DLC, when a relay explodes, it destroys an entire system. Bioware came out and said that this time, they didn't destroy the systems, but how where we supposed to know that?

Considering there's an epilogue showing that the human race lived on, I'm going to say that yeah, the Crucible didn't destroy the Relays the same way smashing an asteroid into it did.

SlyTF1 wrote:And in all my playthroughs Garrus and Tali are always the ones who walk out alive, but they're still stranded on a planet with no civilization.

Earth was a planet with no civilization. Hell, there's tons of places on Earth with no civilization right now. They're still perfectly habitable.

SlyTF1 wrote:That and the "Starchild's" logic was flawed.

Is this about the Reapers? The idea is that eventually, a species would create synthetic life that would end up destroying all organic life. The Reapers were designed to prevent that by harvesting the most advanced species before they can do that, but allowing lesser lifeforms to develop and grow.

Burnout Paradise [360]:
Started a new game as the DeLorean. Got about 50 gates, 10 billboards and my D-Class license.

Crash Course [360]:
Finished the Europe levels and got all of the Achievements for dicking around on the ropes, trampolines, fans, hammers, and conveyor belts. I now have exactly (but not over) 9000 Meaningless Penis Points.
