Okay, i read Half-Life storyline at the internet to make sure i will understand everything that happens in HL2..then i Fired Up Half Life 2! i have a hobby of taking pictures and putting them on the internet when i play games, so beware..
Images incoming!!!

Half-Life 2

Image

The Way G-Man talks....uhhh...is really strange, i am not sure if they intentionally did that or who voices G-Man doesn't know how to talk. I got used to the game fast, i know the controls instantly, they were essentially like Portal 2, COD, Crysis, Team Fortress, Battlefield and all first person shooters, moving around and picking stuff was much like Portal 2, they both use the same engine and are developed by the same company, both of the heroes of P2 and HL2 are silent...odd.
I will be damned for saying that Half-Life 2 has bad graphics, probably it was even better then Batman: Akrham city...i really like this reflection on the floor (look below)

Image

i was a bit of ''scared'' when that combine guy told me to come with him, he brought me to that small room with a creepy Combine guy, but look who that guy turn's out to be.

Image

then i remembered when Barney reminded me about a beer he offered gordon in Half-Life, in the street near the room i found a couple of beer lying around, did Barney drink all those?? i started to play with those bottles, i discovered i can break them, so i started smashing every bottle of beer in my reach. Now let's skip all the way to the point where i get the HEV SUIT!

Image

later i got my first weapon, it's the Cowbar :KREMZEEK:
it's about time to cowbar everything! oh, and i was hit by a train

Image

later i got the pistol, was hoping for something better, an assault rifle? well that's for now.

That would be Azura. She's one of the popular ones, not sure why. I guess it's because she's one of the few Daedric Princes who isn't an asshole. (Despite the fact that she indirectly blew up Morrowind)

BeastProwl wrote:Also, I killed a dragon yesterday. Using nothing but my fists. Yeah, it was a weeker dragon, but still, punched to death

...okay, now I'm impressed.

It was intentional. He spoke the same way at the end of the first game. It's supposed to give him an otherwordly, almost alien feel to his voice.

Well they're not going to give you everything at once. You do get the SMG soon enough, though, and the AR2 later on.

It can be years between me and Ocarina of Time, and I can pick it up like I played the crap out of it just yesterday, same with Borderlands. OOT has been burned into my skull since I was like, 5 though. Still have the same copy! :D It only happens to me with certain games though. For example, Assassin's Creed takes me a bit to get used to again after not playing it for some time.

Yes, I bought the recent PC version. Yes, this is my third time buying this game.

A lot of people are talking about how it's just a straight port. These are the stupid people who haven't played it yet. The graphics have been fine-tuned, and the music has been updated. (Most noticeable in the Victory theme) Also there's achievements now, so that's cool.

I didn't play a whole lot last night. Just far enough to get the Queen of Unf, Tifa.

I had that ages ago, but I long since lost it. I think I lent it out. Anyway, it was the last true FF game I spent time on.

Xenoblade Chronicles
Put some serious time into this and made some significant story progress.
Short version: Tracked the missing kid and defeated a mechon using my new speed ability. however, a new Mechon (with a face and the ability talk) took him and ran.
Chased the Mechon into a very deep drilling operation and met one of the last remaining Colony 6 soldiers. I had a vision that he would die but didn't have the details to prevent it yet. Tracked down the talking Mechon but he could only barely be hurt. Our soldier friend sacrificed himself to push the mechon into an ether river (mimicking my vision), but luckily one of my partners came to the rescue and through teamwork we changed the future.
The Mechon survived but was heavily damaged to the point where we could hurt him again. Finished him off but his last words just left us with more questions. Finally, back at teh surface, we were ambushed by an entire army of the Mechons. Friends from earlier came to help but we were outmatched until a lightning firing bird came to our rescue (ZAPDOS!)before flying off. Phew...

I got to drive a remote controlled mechanical dinosaur. that is all I need say.

That scene had me in tears I was laughing so hard. Farewell, Waggleton P. Tallylicker. And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

Final Fantasy VII:
Got out of Midgar, caught a Chocobo (On my first try!) and recruited Yuffie. A lot of people don't like Yuffie but I always liked Yuffie.

A ton of people have a problem with this port. Not because of things they did wrong, but mostly because of unreasonable expectations. Like, totally new graphics, voice acting, even a few people wanting redone gameplay! A few people are complaining about the MIDI music. Some people are complaining about the achievements not being achievement-y enough, and while they are kind of weak (Very few of them require going too far out of your way) achievements should not be a requirement for the enjoyment of a classic.

tl;dr version, people are pissed because they heard "port" and thought it meant "remake." I'm guessing many of them aren't old enough to remember the PS1 era, or they're so entranced by the current era they can't accept a classic for what it is. Probably both.

...And yeah, obviously there's the people who never liked FF7, but I learned to shut them out years ago.

Didn't post for a while, this game so cool that i can't stop playing, hehe..all right, first i fought my first Barnacle(s), one Crowbar was enough to stop them from having lunch, later i also fought my first manhack, i quickly started to hate them, they come in large swarms. Gotta hate those flammable barrels

Image

later, some combine dude came to give me a gift, he came down descending from some rope, i killed him then i toke the gift, the SMG!

Image

later i found some small hole near the area, i entered, found a dead body, supplies and a box that likely has more supplies, i opened the crate and it turns out there is someone living there..

Image

ZOMBIE!!! my first zombie, not real zombie fight, but, it was my first zombie kill anyway...i continued my through this Chapter, at the end i fought my first Headhumper...*cough* i mean Headcrab, and my first real zombie fight, who doesn't have his legs cut, i was again surprised when that zombie came out of that swamp, i thought he should die there, but well, zombies are zombies

Image

here i reached the end of chapter 3, Route Kanal, and reached the beginning of chapter 4, Water Hazard...i got my hands on some air boat. Soon i spotted a man in a suit holding a brief-case, OH! IS That G-MAN?!

Image

he headed right into that barn, i stopped my boat and headed inside that barn, i wanted to catch that G-guy, but all my efforts in going up there went to vain, as i only found Zombies there, oh..and some med-packs, ammo and energy.

Image

i continued my way the airboat, sometimes forced to stop to open some path or something, i was continuously chased by that Chopper, never got a chance to revenge until i got my hands on some turrets, but the copper escaped before i destroyed it, i continued my way and i was chased by another one... >:oP ... oh and i got the 357 Mangum, or Magnum...something like that before i got my chance to get rid of the first chopper.

Image

later, some nice guy and a Vortigaunt gave my Air Boat an update, now it has a turret, the same one i used against the first chopper, it had ''unlimited ammo'' but it has to ''recharge'' sometimes....i used the turret to get rid of the second chopper, i didn't destroy it but it was on fire when it escaped, at last there is no chopper on my tail.

Later i found a wide-open place, oh wait, this means a boss fight!, i found myself one one one against a chopper, throwing on me mines and shooting me, while i had only my trustworthy turret

Image

sorry, the turret isn't exactly visible on the picture :-( . Anyway, i at last destroyed the chopper, and finished Water Hazard, and started Black Mesa east, i can't wait to learn how to use the Zero-Point Energy Point Gun, i mean Gravity Gun.

Image

Well, that was enough for today...

Were to begin...
Well, I visited this daedric shrine, were a godess of sorts sent me on a quest to destroy the undead in her temple and kill the mage within. Dawnbreaker was my prize. Neat sword.

Then I whent and solved the nightmare problem in Dawnstar. Me and that priest guy destroyed the skull staff. I remember hearing that most daedric princes are evil, in exception of a few. The one in this temple told me to stab the priest in the back and take the staff, because he would betray me. I figured she was bullshitting me, and if he DID attack me, ide be strong enough to kill him, and Ide take the staff anyway. It would be a win win. He didnt try any funny buisiness, and the staff was destroyed. Im happy with the overall outcome.

Speaking of daedric princes, they just cant leave me alone.
I finished up the "Night to Remember" quest. After killing my soon-to-be wife, I returned the ring to the merchant lady in whiterun, and she told me that Sam would be in (I forgot the name)

I whent there and fought through a hoard of enemies, and found a portal at the end. I whent through it, and found sam inside, who was really the Daedric Prince Sanguine in disguise. He gave me the staff and sent me on my way.

Among all of this, Ive crafted a full set of Daedric Armor, Dragonplate Armor, and Dragonscale Armor, all of legendary status 8)

I think im doing pretty good, considering there's still SO MUCH left in the game to do.

It's a lot more complicated than that. They aren't all entirely evil, and the "good" ones are just less likely to kill you. Even Azura, who is almost universally accepted to be benevolent and even outright kind and caring, still indirectly caused the destruction of Morrowind because the Tribunal didn't listen to her when she told them not to become demigods. (That, and Tribunal leader Vivec may have forced her into a...well, less than pleasant situation, but the jury is still out on whether it's canon or not)

All of them are capable of good and evil, (Except Molag Bal, I'd tell you how he made the first vampire, but this is a pg-13 site. Let's just say it forms one of his nicknames...) some more than others. Although the worst Sanguine might do is get you involved in an orgy.

I seemed to like the least loved characters the best. Yuffie and Cait Sith were my regular team.

I liked the game and did finish it, but I've been more in the camp of 'This game gets far more praise than it actually deserves'.

Climbed the throat of the world. The hard way. Just thought that was worth mentioning.
Ok, so I found a guy in an iceberge yesterday, trying to unlock some massive dwemer gizmo that he was led to be some daedric prince. I gave me some artifacts, and sent me on my way to a MASSIVE dwemer ruin. When I finally had gotten through it, I realized 2 things.
1. I can now slice through Dwemer Centerions like a hot knife through cheese,
2. Holy crap, there is alot of crap down here.
Blackreach is just mystical. There's so much to it. I solved the little puzzle inside, and recieved an Elder Scroll! Yay! Now what the f*ck do I do with the damn thing? I can try and read it, but it blinds me each time.

I returned it, and was told I need to collect the blood of several elves to get the thing open, and was confronted by a daedric prince on the way out. I know he's playing me, but I chose to serve him anyway, for now. This wont have catastrophic consequences will it?

Also, what is the significance of this "Wolf Armor?"
I like how it looks, but thats it. I suppose I could re-inforce the crap out of it with smithing enchantments and smithing potions, but Ide rather save that for the Nightengale's armor.

I got the Conditioning perk. Being able to move swiftly with heavy armor on is a big plus in my book. Daedric Armor, everywere I go, doesnt matter what im doing.

I have every intention of fully exploring the place sometime. It really is huge, something like a fifth the size or Skyrim itself.

BeastProwl wrote:I solved the little puzzle inside, and recieved an Elder Scroll! Yay! Now what the f*ck do I do with the damn thing? I can try and read it, but it blinds me each time.

There's a few things you can do with it. Part of the main quest, in fact. And Dawnguard, actually. The reason you can't read it is because, well, you can't. It's pure truth in paper form. Going blind for just a moment is a stroke of luck, lesser men would go insane, and more wizened men would go blind permanently.

Nah, Hermaeus Mora may not be the most pleasant-looking Daedric Prince (A gigantic mass of claws, pincers, and tentacles!) but he's one of the more trust-worthy ones. The reward for his quest is one of the better Daedric Artifacts in the game, it'll level up one third of your skills five or ten times (Depending on the skill) but only once.

It's more or less the official armor of the Companions. Other than that, it's not particularly special.

You know, it would be cool if the armor stretched and expanded, and if you wear it while you turn into a werewolf, you'd be an armored werewolf. And seeing as how its he official armor of the companions, and the Skyforge is a mystical smithing forge, I see no reason why it wouldnt be able to. Being an armored werewolf would be amazing IMO.

Says you. Part of the fun of being a werewolf is ripping someone in half while letting it all hang loose. 8)

BulletStorm
GAME.OVER!
Beat the game. Was tricked into arming a planet-buster, hopped onto a bad guy's ship, fought him and crippled him, but he dumped me and one of my partners back on the planet. We fought our way to his old ship, hopped in an escape pod, and used the explosion of the weapon to get back in orbit.

The game had its moments, but I wasn't all that enthused about it. In the end, I stuck with the sniper rifle and the drill-gun. The bouncing bomb weapon was completely useless and I stopped caring about skillshots about halfway through. The crude humor was fine and actually pretty good at points, but when the only way to turn your main character into a straight-man is to make the bad guy so over-the-top that he fell down and landed on the other side of the wall, that's a bit much.

New Super Mario Bros.
Remembered I had this. Cleared world 3 with all star coins.

Rage
Installed this game and immediately hit some of the PC technical issues. It required steam, which is -5 points out of the gate, it required some tweaking to get it to show on the proper monitor, and once in the game I found texture loading to be so bad that I just had to turn quickly to see textures loading. #-o
Luckily, once I evened out most of the above issues, the game is quite playable. Hit the first two towns and cleared out a bunch of bandit areas, unlocking my buggy.
This game gave me the best laugh I've had in a while though. Got on my ATV, backed out of the garage, hit a wall at 5mph, and somehow got thrown into the air comically. I now make it a point to never hit the brakes on my ATV so that my character can vault over enemies at will.

Remember when I said the game was Old vs. New? Think of Seranno as the idiot 12-year-old screeching at you over voice chat, constantly swearing as a means of making himself look more mature. (Which Grayson even mentions) Everything adds up in a weird way.

Gah! it sucks that you have to join the Thieve's Guild to get that snazzy armor. I have to swindle and piss off alot of people that Ive gotten to like in order to get to the quest were you become a Nightengale. It really sucks from a moral standpoint, and Im not one for debauchery (Unless its required)

Anyway, Ive harvested all the elf blood I need so far accept wood elf blood. Were can I find a wood elf who's pissed off enough to attack so I can kill him legally? God, in Skyrim I'm EVERYONE'S friend. Im too good a person, one day I need to change that.

FINALLY! After many a gruesome defeat I finally beat the Infection game! I swear those viruses are evil, they must have been cheating somehow! even lowering the difficulty with the Hint Book didn't help :BOOM: but now I've done it, I've done it on the first try of the day! Now nothing can stand in my way...

*maniacal laughter* 8-}

Except a magic door knocker. Terrific...

*EDIT* But not too terribly hard. Raced through solving the final puzzle in the Attic, the Tower Puzzle, following through the climax and to the end of the game. I finished a game my dad never could!

So I have solved all puzzles, without the help of the Hint book in the Libraray:

  • Dining Room (Cake Puzzle)
  • Library (Channels of Mars)
  • Foyer (Spider Puzzle)
  • Game Room (A Royal Problem)
  • Julia Heine's Room (Sink or Swim)
  • Martine Burden's Room (Letters on the Bed)
  • Edward & Elinor Knox' Room (Bishop Puzzle)
  • Kitchen (Cans in the Cabinet)
  • Basement (Grating Puzzle)
  • Labyrinth (no explanation needed)
  • Crypt (Coffin Puzzle)
  • Bathroom (Knight Puzzle)
  • Hamilton Temple's Room (Pick a Card)
  • Brian Dutton's Room (Coin Puzzle)
  • Chapel (Watch your Step)
  • Music Room (Piano Lesson)
  • Gallery (Stauf's Portrait)
  • Puppet Room (Flipped) (got lucky on that one)
  • Children's Room (Block Puzzle)
  • Laboratory (Infection)
  • Hallway (Door Knocker)
  • Attic (Lights on!)

All right, I've unlocked Open House mode, so I can replay every puzzle at my leisure. Maybe I should look into 11th Hour...
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Search for an area called 'Liar's retreat". It's a Falmer nest, but there's usually a wood elf in the crew. Otherwise just raid a few bandit outposts.
Next up on Pimp My Jeager.

So, I had a personal rule. "Do not buy Mass Effect 3 anyplace other than Steam." And then, exactly the right amount of money to buy it was dropped in my lap. And...well...

Mass Effect 3:
My saving grace is that I got the downloadable copy from Gamestop's not-entirely-horrible Steam knockoff, instead of Origin, so EA is getting about as much money off the sale.

I'm learning a lot, really. Like, did you know there's a game before the ending? Like, a whole game, with shooting, and a story, and hats. Suffice to say, I also took the time to download the Expanded Ending DLC, so the whole "Ending Sucks" thing is going to be really weird from my perspective.

I start off with a few problems, mostly that my two saves aren't exactly the ones I wanted, in particular, my FemShep is a horribly outdated save, from before I got the Kasumi DLC. I'm doing this as my ManShep, who is only slightly off the mark I wanted. (He romanced Tali, instead of Liara, but that's a bit of triviality, aside from one really, really awkward "I am not cheating on Tali to get back with you" conversation)

Did some stuff, a lot of stuff, in fact. Saved the Turians, saved the Krogans, saved 3/4 of the Council (That last 1/4 had it coming, but not the one you'd think!) and met a douchebag ninja. I'm going to try a bit of multiplayer next, I think.

I'm not planning on playing that 'till I get the last trophies in ME2. And I know who you're talking about when you say douche bag ninja. Kai Leng. He's a dbag in the books too.

couldn't agree more, everybody says the ending is bad as a excuse for hating the game, i bought the game despite what i have read about the ending, and it was damn fun.

Half-Life 2

didn't have enough time to post...the game sucked me in, i finished Ravenholm, toke me awhile to finish it, it was a true error experience, every step i walk in that zombie town i feel like some Headcrab or Zombie is about to creep on me, i met the fast zombie....****, then i met Toxic Zombies....**** again. Now i am always feeling that a zombie will creep on me, i got some buggy, and i am halfway through sandtraps

I don't know what it is, but Toxic headcrabs scare the ever-loving **** out of me. Regular headcrabs I can deal with, fast ones are fine. But Toxic? I have extreme difficulty getting through any area with a Toxic headcrab. It's part of the reason I haven't finished the game in years.

Oddly enough, that paragraph doesn't apply if there's another person in the room with me.

Mass Effect 3:
Okay, multiplayer is pretty sweet. From what I can tell, it's all PvE, so it's pretty much just the regular game, but your partners aren't AI controlled. Apparently it has an impact on the game proper. Ran a few very successful matches. (It's really easy once you get the hang of things) Now if only EA's servers would stop disconnecting me so randomly.

I know it's a double post, just barely two days apart. But I really, really have to tell someone this.

Mass Effect 3:
BEATEN! With the Extended Ending. AKA, the ending that, even 20 minutes after watching it, I'm still struggling to regain my composure. I picked Synthesis, I had high paragon and high Effective Military strength. There is no better ending. You remember the ending of Toy Story 3, how it was happy and sad at the same time, and grown men had difficulty fighting back the tears? Extended Cut ME3 is like, a million times that. It was beautiful. The perfect ending to the series.

Man, **** the haters.

Beat an Elder Dragon yesterday. Thing was tough as nails.
And he just appeared from out of no were, no warnings, just his shadow on the ground, silent, then the roar. It sends chills down my spine when they fly in like that. Especially if it plays the right dragon fight theme, which it did.

Luckely for me, I had Spellbreaker at my side. This shield is my new go-to shield, Its amazing! What is this, the 4th, 5th daedric prince ive had a run in with?

I have a question though, does this game focus on your race? I see "Argonian" sprinkled around in books and story points alot more than I feel I should.

Speaking of argonians in books. I found a book recently. Im now questioning Bethesda's sanity.

There's 17 Daedric Princes in total, although only 16 of them have quests in-game. Well, 15, since Nocturnal doesn't technically have her own quest, instead playing a role in the Thieves Guild quest.

BeastProwl wrote:I have a question though, does this game focus on your race? I see "Argonian" sprinkled around in books and story points alot more than I feel I should.

Yes, actually. The books are probably a coincidence, but NPCs will react to and comment on your race. If you play as a Nord, other Nords will react to you more warmly. If you play as a High Elf, assuming you find the robes, you can walk around the Thalmor Embassy unimpeded. If you play as an Orc, I assume you can get into the Orc settlements easier.

Lusty Argonian Maid. A classic if there ever was one. You meet the character who wrote it in Morrowind. He's the "Creepy uncle" sort of guy.
