Saw this discussion being discussed in another thread today. Thought it was worthy of it's own thread. As we often discuss it.

Speaking for myself. My TF collection is smaller than average. So I care less, as I mix and match Aesthetics, scale and toy lines all the time.

I'm in it for buying the best updates possible. Just not prepared to let any set aesthetics or scale or toy lines. Dictate my buying purchases. Examples of me buying regardless are, X-T Cyclonus, X-T Scourge, DX9 Rodimus Prime. KFC Wreckgar, MMC Carnifex, UT Provider.

As a CHUG guy aesthetics matter little to me. There's just too much variance within the main lines which included Energon, Classics, Universe, RTS, CW, and tons of others at various points. There's such a mashup of styles it all kinda evens out. I guess an MP collection would be different.

Scale matters a bit more to me. I want everyone to look nice next to each other. Right now I use Label Soundwave and the Classics Seekers among my cons and they are SMALL, especially since Hegemon is my Megatron. But they're also the perfect representations of their characters to me. FoC Soundwave and the iGear Seekers are tempting, but only because of their size. I decided to hold out until I get an option I really like as opposed to settling (well ... I may get a new Soundwave; he's only one guy).

Some of the HasTak MP TF toys, don't care for the aesthetics, budget restraints or weird choices made. Don't think it's fair trying to match this and get inferior third party MP TF toys.

For me, The goal is getting the best made G1 updates third party TF toys possible. Regardless is they match anything HasTak has.

I care more about CHUG scale matching than CHUG aesthetics when it comes to my 3rd party purchases. But in the case of replacing a torso bot for a Hasbro combiner, the aesthetics SHOULD match Hasbros.

I barely recognize Aesthetics. Really the amount of variance I see in my own little collection not to mention the over all franchise doesn't bother me much. So styles/details don't bother me too much.

Unless you're speaking about 'design/continuity?' I really REALLY can't stand the movie designs. I don't care what size they are, they just don't fit in with my collection. I suppose that could be considered aesthetic...

For me it's generally about G1 and my preferred scale is Masterpiece. However I also mix my classic/Generations WITH my Masterpieces and I think they look decent together. Masterpiece prowl and Classics Prowl only had... what? 1/2 inch height increase? If MP Prowl scales with MP10... then I guess the others classics fall into the 'close enough' range. Add in the fact that I can't decide what is more important to me. G1 cartoon scale (which was ALL OVER the place...) or the G1 toy scale (Which I remember a bit better then the cartoon anyway)

I'm surprised seeing people debate over which 3pp Dinobot fits the Aesthetic better... because deep down, I REALLY don't see much difference. Large G1 Slag or Large G1 Slag... without anything nearby showing off scale, I can't tell which 3pp did which one...

I started collecting the Gcreation Shuraking versions of dinos less because of design/size (since again they all look about the same to me...) but for the design of the combiner. I like that better then the other Dino-combiner I saw out there...
