Take a look at Generations Hoist's vehicle mode. Mentally remove the crane. There you go.
They call me “Tanker Chungus”!

In the listing you will see loads of in-hand images of a miss-transformed Trailcutter!

Naughty, but nice! ;)
Some people must be desperate to get this guy early. $56 (so far) for a deluxe class toy that will be showing up at mass retail, think I'll wait for the one I ordered from BBTS ;)
Trailcutter won't be released until the very end of June in Asia. I live in America. It would take BBTS the first week into July to receive Trailcutter, then it would be another week before I got him In hand along with his other wave mates that I was "forced" to buy. This way I can save a few bucks and get Trailcutter 3 weeks earlier than everyone else in the U.S.

Judging by the pics of him next to FOC Soundwave, it looks like he is going to be the same height as FOC Shockwave.....SMALL!

1) It's a Deluxe: what do you expect?

2) Shockwave is a smidge taller than the Classics Seeker mild, itself several (centi/mili)meters taller than Bumblebee.

Yeah, FoC Shockwave isn't lacking in height, it's just really, REALLY hollow and thin.

When I think deluxe, I'm thinking deluxe Kup or Cyclonus as a nice size.

The deluxe Lambo Bros will tower over him like they do most deluxes....

Kup is rather tall for a deluxe. Not by a huge amount, but noticeably so.

Gonna be honest, i don't get the hatred of small/hollow/light figures.

Small=more available shelf space, hollow+light=less likely to fall over (if it's things like the torso or arms, for example) and less likely to suffer damage if it falls. Seems like a no-brainer, no?

It's because they don't scale well with the characters who got updates a few years ago.

Suddenly drastically smaller + higher priced figures means less transformer for your money.

Hollow + light means cheaper and lower quality, which means shorter life expenctancy, and MORE likely to suffer damage because it's low quality.

They had the excuse of amalgamating several different toylines and manufacturers in the '80s, they don't have that now. That's like asking why articulation matters, since a lot of the G1 figures didn't have any. Hell, why are we even debating this on the fangled internet when we have pagers and fax machines.

Hollow + light means cheaper and lower quality, which means shorter life expenctancy, and MORE likely to suffer damage because it's low quality.

Problem: hollow build=/=low quality plastic.

If the plastic is decent quality it will suffer less damage from a fall.

EXPLANATION:

The heavier an object, the more force and momentum it falls with. Thus a heavier object will receive a greater impact and have more stress put upon it from a fall than a lighter one. For example, compare Robot Damashii Unit 01 and Soul of Chogokin Unit 01. Suppose both fell onto a laminate floor from a shelf. Both are high-quality, expensive figures made from expensive, decent materials. However, the Robot Damashii is very light and made entirely from plastic, whilst the Soul of Chogokin is very heavy and contains die-cast parts. Whilst the Robot Damashii will probably receive minor damage, the Soul of Chogokin figure, being heavy and containing a lot of metal parts, will be put under a lot more stress upon impact. It will most likely snap a limb joint, chip paint, or shatter.

Likewise, if the same scenario was carried out with a Figma and a heavy PVC statue, a plastic Tyranid Carnifex and an old metal Tyranid Hive Tyrant, or Fall of Cybertron Optimus Prime and G1 Optimus Prime, the heavier figure would invariably be worse for wear. I've dropped plastic Genestealers and they've not even been scratched, whereas just knocking over my Hive Tyrant can cause it to break apart.

Also, a heavy die-cast limb is more likely to wear out a joint than a light, hollow plastic one.

Light/hollow is the way forward. Like I say, there's a difference between a toy made with cheap crappy plastic, like a knockoff, and a toy made of decent quality plastic but a transformation scheme that leaves its torso largely empty/composed of folded up panels or whatever.

All these years I've been coveting mahogany when I should have gone for plywood! Seriously, I had a mixture of lead, resin and plastic citadel miniatures for decades and never dropped them, i think you're overstating the likelihood of an adult collector to be dropping his figures all over the place. It's a pretty tenuous argument pal.

You're talking to a 16-year-old with all the fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination of a drunken chimpanzee.

I can assure you that that alone, combined with my pathetically small and overcrowded shelves, gives me reason to consider these things.

I got Trailcutter in the mail today and he is depressing. The bot mode is okay, he's a little shorter than Ironhide. There are 2 notches on the hood where his shoulders are supposed to clip in, but they don't clip. Fortunately the shoulders are tight enough so that the arms are able to move around without dragging the shoulders out of place. The alt mode is scout size. Classics BB looks slightly bigger than him in vehicle form.

After seeing the video review (viewtopic.php?t=94773) I agree the vehicle mode is stupidly small, but he seems to scale well with other Autobots in robot mode. It will be more of a problem with Hoist IMO because I wanted to 'pose' him with Grapple, and the size difference will be pretty large. Still looking forward to getting this figure, and the shield configuration of the derpy gun looks pretty cool.

Really!
After spoiling us recently(ish) with large figures such as Jazz and Tracks, this will look very small if all accounts are correct, if he only scales around scout size?

Did we ever see any comparison pictures of scale? :-?

There are comparisons in the aforementioned video review. He severely condenses in vehicle mode but is a decentish height in robot mode.
