In the original Jurassic Park, all of the clone Dinosaurs were initially female. Although it should be noted that this is in fact NOT supposed to be the exact T-Rex from JP (because last time I checked it wasn't a robot), but a Transformer-inspired interpretation of it. So of course it gets weird here...
Vehicles on earth aren't alive, so if a Transformer scans a vehicle, they still retain whatever personality they are...
But if you scan a living animal, and take it on as an alternate form, does your gender automatically change to whatever gender the animal you scanned is/was? I mean Tigatron scanned a female tiger, but he IS Male. Megatron, and Dinobot scanned fossils (not even alive). Do we assume all the other living animals the Maximals and Predacons scanned were the same gender they were?..... yeah it gets real weird.
I mean I get the simplicity of wanting this Tyrannosaur Transformer (based on the original Tyrannosaur Animal from the JP movies) to be female, because the animal was female, but I guess we have to wait and see, until then, people are just going to interpret it however they wish.

Or is this another one of those situations where the character is referred to as one gender, but 'identifies themselves' as some other gender....? The head sculpt is nice - pity I have no interest in this figure, having already dismissed Barney Megatron and "T-Wrecks".

I did not expect the JP93 to be apart of this set, but it’s brought this set from a “maybe” to an IMMEDIATE preorder. Rex’s head sculpt is epic, but just cause I’m a sucker for face plates and visor eyes. Make anything look bad A with those two things. Even how amazingly they’re displayed in box is just a cherry on top.
Gotta agree with everyone else on this one though, the asking price for this is a new level of high. I expected $90, and I thought that was being generous. Breaking the $100 barrier is a little frightening for a leader/deluxe class combo. But I’m a sucker, and I can’t expect them to lower their prices when I buy out everything they’ve got like without hesitation lol.

Also, excellent looking figures, but they have the shittiest names off all time. Erector was funny at least. These names are just unimaginative as hell.

Tyrannosaurus Rex is the name of the species, which includes both sexes.

Has Hasbro reused any of these Collaborative molds? I'm still waiting for more Hearse Transformers from Ectotron.
I'm making up my own names for these two
They are, um, Tyrannissa and Parkour

Rex is clearly a title/word in Latin that refers specifically to a male person. So we're calling a female Tyrannosaurus "King"? It's like saying "Mr. and Mrs. John Smith" includes both sexes, even though the female in that duo is NOT John, she's Susan.
I realize this probably isn't coming out the way a I'd like, but I'm not really sure how to articulate it.
