After building a transformable Megatron, Starscream, Snow Plow, and Optimus Prime, I present to you...
JUNGLE STRIKE SHOCKWAVE!
I obviously mostly used the blocks from that second Megabloks Halo Mantis set I bought. I wanted to do a better Snow Plow but it was clear it would never work. So, I demolished the Plow and went to work. Most blocks were jungle colored anyway and I played the classic GI-Joe cartoon as background noise. So it had to be a military style Decepticon.
I followed Anon's challenge and made a custom hand and head. That's why I decided on Shockwave. It's an head that is easy to make.
I started with the main body, followed by the legs, then ended with the arms.
Only the arms are assymetrical. One is the main cannon, of course, the other is the hand which is tucked away in vehicle mode.
The vehicle would be some kind of tank, but the speedy sort. Like, a SUV tank.
Turret can turn a full 360° and the cannon can move a full 90°.
TRANSFORM!First, unfold the legs from underneath. They couldnt peg. They just rested there.
The waist piece unfold and rest under the front of the turret that must remain straight.
Separate the legs by unpegging them, rotate the feets forward, then fold the knees in a S.
Unfold the arms and place them into position.
Just fold the shoulderpads down and rotate the head forward. Finally, give the antenaes a little angle. DONE!
Also, the shoulderpads use some nice ratcheted flaps so they lock the head in place in vehicle mode.
It's kinda posable but it stand solidly just in some very few poses. Once again, I made something that is a wee bit too big. Still, I'm quite proud of the resulting robot mode.
If I make it to the roundup, please use this photo:That photo is the best! For a sense of scale:
Forgot to point out that he have a cockpit and a Halo guy can fit snuggly inside.
I just hope it will not come crashing down that top shelf!
So, what do y'all think?
