Leader Prime

I am planning on taking off the flame paint on Leader Prime's back wheel cover/upper legs. What would be the best thing for this??

Probably paint over em, I'm tempted on buying another leader prime and paint him G1 colors like another fellow did here.

No need. Hasbro is going to release a G1 colored Leader Prime. just wait and buy that one. as for removing the flames, i agree, just paint over them with some acrylic paint. or something like that.

Painting over the flames will be far easier and cleaner than trying to strip the paint off without corroding the plastic itself.

G1 Coloured Prime? Isn't that for the Voyager mold and not the leader one?

I think the repaint for Leader Prime is nightwatch Prime.

First Strike (G1) Prime is for the Voyager mold I THINK.

No I am fairly certain that you are 100% correct.

There is a Nightwatch Prime coming out, then a G! based Prime some time after that. G1 based Prime is part of the Allspark repaint line if my memory serves me well (which it often does not).

Thanx, I'm pretty sure it was for Leader Prime to, but I can't find the thread were the pictures were posted. We really need that search function repaired.

Sorry, it appears as though Raymond101 was correct, G1 Allspark power Prime does indeed look like the Voyager version:

I must have daydreamed the Leader class version G1 Prime repaint. It was a beautiful Daydream though.

Meh, I dunno, I just want to remove the paint.

I made a topic about which sealer/clear coat will be good for it, which would be better to remove it, but no one responded. So I guess I have no choice...

Dang... yeah that's Voyager prime. well, who can say, maybe we both had a glimpse of the future, and there will be a leader G1 deco Prime. :P

One can dream can't one. :P

Anyway is the G1 deco gonna be a Target exclusive? or Wide release?

Back on topic, I think you'll have a hard time removing the flames. It'll probably end up looking bleached or something. I think the best you can do is paint over them.

Rubbing alcohol might work, if not just paint over them as any kind of thinners strong enough to take off that kind of paint is going to melt the plastic.

Hmmm...G1 leader class Prime huh? Now theres something to contemplate....i might just have to start working on one!

Damnit!!!

After seeing that stupid, only because it's one of a kind, Metallic Chrome Leader Prime, the fanboy in me is screaming for a repaint of the leader prime in G-1 colors with super metallic finish..

they could do a Leader Megs and G-1 Prime in Super Metal finish!!! come on!!

Now I love the Voyager Prime mold as much as the next guy, but damn!!! the leader class really shopuld be the one with the G-1 colors, and they should do a Trailer with updated weaponry to go with him...

Well, Tamiya clear coat gives a lovely gloss finish, its like looking in the mirror. But im not too sure about its sealing properties. That all comes down to how you apply the paint, because no matter what some paint will always chip off.

For areas that might rub, I use Krylon matte finish or Crystal Clear to help protect the parts. If it's real bad, maybe a little clear nail polish or superglue sparingly applied to trouble spots.

For just looks, any of the acrylic gloss coats from Model Master, dull, semi gloss, gloss. And for a nice glossy waxed look, I put Future acrylic floor wax on. It protects pretty well too.
