I've been trying to write this for a few hours, I'm sorry if my thoughts aren't really conveyed properly. As you can tell my mind is pretty jumbled up right now.

My whole life I have had the same dreams.
Rockstar, Pro Wrestler, Be a dad, and get married.

Two are realistic and two are highly unrealistic.

Lately I haven't been able to decide which two are the realistic ones, or if all four are just highly unrealistic.

Today, when I heard about Chris Benoit's untimely passing, something inside me snapped and I got a jolt of confidence I've never felt before.

I don't know why it's there, but it's there, like I can actually accomplish things in life.

I know it's going to sound stupid, but lately I've felt like Nemo from Finding Nemo.

Everyone tells me I can't do anything, but in my mind I believe I can, even if I really can't.

Maybe I should explain why I want each individual dream to clarify things.

Rockstar--> Music has been one of the few constants in my constantly changing and destructive life, whether it be self destructive or outside forces. Music has always been there for me to help cope with life. I want to be able to express my self and help people the way bands like Slipknot, Alice In Chains, and Korn have helped me.

Pro Wrestler--> Wrestling has been another constant in my life. I grew up watching Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Sting, The Giant(Big Show), Chris Jericho etc etc. The "characters" were extremely relatable to me. Especially Sting, who at one point the world turned on him because of a misunderstanding/lie. That has happened to me numerous times.

Father--> Family is important to me, even if I hate my family. I want to be what I never had growing up. A real parent.

Husband--> Same as above^^, plus I want to be able to know that one person loves me more then the rest of the world, no matter what happens in life they are there for me. I have yet to find a person like that.

I guess the advice I am seeking is, should I let go of my "silly" dreams, or continue to pursue them and face more hardship with the hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel that seems to be caving in?

Having actually trained a little bit for the whole wrestling bit, and seen how a pro-wrestler lives. Just remember, all the truly good wrestlers seem to die way before their time.

Chris Benoit, Owen Hart, Road Warrior Hawk, Mr. Perfect, Eddie Guerrero ect.

You end up having to rely on pain killers and surgery if you go the pro wrestler route.

Really the two realistic ones are dad and husband, if you try all four, you may wind up disappointed, or away so much you'll never see your family.

They're good dreams to have, even if you're a dad and such, you can still practice music, get good, do small shows ect.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to rely on pain killers and surgery to keep competing.

Music is something I definitely want to pursue, even if I have to do it small scale and as a hobby on the side.

Hey, maybe I can be the cool dad

and Steve, I wish I could do all four lol

As Senor Hugo said, the life of a wrestler can be rough. But consider the life of a touring musician and how much time both professions would spend away from your family.

You want to be a husband and a father, that's do-able. The others are do-able too but just remember the impact they can have on your family life.

Honestly, I don't know what I want more, a family life or a career in music.

Part of me feels like, if I'm successful in music/wrestling my life will be empty because I have no one to share it with.

But if I follow the family route, I know I will feel empty because I never attempted to follow through with wrestling/music.

It's a double edged-sword.

I don't feel the approval of others is important to me, but acknowledgment that I'm doing something with my life as opposed to being another bum like the rest of my family.

It's weird

It depends on how you define success.

Is a success in music selling millions of albums and selling out stadiums across the world?

Or is success having a small music school of your own where you teach others to enjoy, cherish and appreciate music the way you do?

Hey that may be a good compromise if you can set it up. I've been in situations where I just looked at the future and just saw big black void, all I can really say (as cheesey as it sounds) is to figure out which path you really want to take and just go for it.

Now the restling is not my taste so I don't know what to say to that.

Now as for Rock, now that's a dream that can come true, just praktice start a band with friends and start doing music for local stuff like an anaversary to bild up your portfoilo.

If you fell youre good inuff then go and try to get into the industry by using Myspace and contests.
And if you make it, save your money on the next part of your life... the family!

As for being a good dad and husband, that is a wish that shuld be given a prise ;)^ . Cos far too less think of that, all just want top stik it in and have there fun.

But always think of a backup plan, like working in a recored shop.
Remember, never lett other people tell you that you can't acive something. People treted me like this to, now they are 18 year old alcaholics that have no job and I'm at a languge school that wen I finished it gives me more posebilities in life. Use your talents to succed in life, I for instance have a talent for languges, mening that I now don't just speak German and English fluently, but am lerning Spanish aswell (and if I weren't so lazy at lerning my vocabes I'de be much better  ) but I'm realy crap at writing, that's my disability.
So find out what youre good at and concentrate on that, but always have a back up plan.
Don't know if that helped.
So good luck at everything, and no matter what happens remember to always..(as seen in sig)

Life bits

Postby GremlinGrimlock » Tue Jun 26, 2007 10:43 pm

Your not the only one who would like,to be expansive.
It's not a bad thing. Rockstar?..as long as a crowd could
be entertained, and have the right guys. Had two bands, two
formations. Drummer and myself called it quits, cause we
became dads.Forming a new group......... .

Retired from the martial world,90 99/00. Fun sport.Discipline,
time.,be prepared to prove the worth. A lot of guys..sometimes
aren't friendly or honourable.
Dad it's one of the greatest feelings. Made sure that kids
had a good life. One's in europe,youngun. Elder,japan with
her boyfriend. So hope this is something. Do your forte.
And never, ever, ever sell out guys that develope you or
support a chosen career path. Life could be hell. That's
my life. Hope that helped. Another year older,..............

Dude, I have been making music since I was at least 16 and I just got myself a record deal at the age of 35!
So, my advice is never give up on a dream no matter how many set backs you get. If you want it bad enough and have talent, eventually, your time will come.
But get a real job to pay bills while you slug it out

I would say keep all of your dreams alive as possibilities you can take with your life. Personally, I think a rockstar would mean spending alot of time away from your family if you are touring unless you take them with you, but that would disrupt your child's schooling. Same with the wrestling.

In the end, it just depends how determined you are for the things you want. And it sounds like you are. Prioritise some goals so you are not trying to do everything, and all the best luck for whatever you decide to do.

Of course you should let go of your dreams. You never achieve dreams.
You achieve goals. You're a determined guy, Veep, so if you know what you want to do, put yourself to it. If wrestling's something you want to get into, read Mick Foley's first autobiography, "Have A Nice Day". It's proof that you don't need to be a chiselled Adonis to get into the business. But get out there, find the amateur leagues, talk to the bookers, make yourself known to them.

Well, my brother is in a backyard wrestling league called Underground Championship Wrestling, and yesterday my friend and I made our debut as the Pale Riders Jay Sin and Justin Payne.

Overall I think it was a decent first match for the both of us.

We debuted against my brother in a handicap match.

I only had a few screw ups.

My first screw up came when I went for a figure four leg lock, the pants I was wearing made it impossible for me to get my leg up over the ankle of my brother.

My second screw up came when I went to do my finisher, the Death Valley Driver, I got my brother up on my shoulders in a fireman's carry and he was in an awkward position and my back gave out, we practiced this a few times so I must have been worn out from that or something because I did it flawlessly before. I tried to fix it by turning it into a rolling Samoan drop and my shoulder ran right into my brother's crotch.

Boy was he pissed

Another screw up came when my brother went to hit me with a chair, I didn't position my hands right so he nailed me in the forehead.

God that hurt like a bitch.

My brother is like the next Jeff Hardy I swear, he'll do anything.

We had this scaffolding set up, that it self was about 5 feet above the ground and then there was a 10 foot ladder set up on top of that, he got to the top rung and jumped off onto Justin Payne.

It was insane.

The finish saw my brother getting the offense on me after the chair shot, and he went up to climb the ladder on the scaffolding and Justin Payne got him in the back with the chair, then after my brother recovered Justin threw the chair and my bro caught it and Justin dropkicked it right into my brother's face.

I "woke up" and noticed my brother layed out, so I got the pin.

"Left Behind" by Slipknot begins to blare signaling that The Pale Riders have won and adopted a new member, The Freak(my brother)

I am so excited for this!
