Waiting for the retailer to ship out, hopefully I can come back here in a week with some thoughts.
I apologize, I thought I came in here prior to today and gave my impressions.
So, as with most MMC products Seraph Prominion is a wonderfully made figure. Plastic is on par with their other releases and there's ample articulation points on the base figure. Transforming the base Seraph had its own headaches as I just couldn't get the cab in place for a good hour. There are so many hinge-like pieces and complex movement that it becomes a bit of a puzzle and tedious to perform. But once you get it all down you are left with a pretty bland cab/vehicle. In robot mode, SP is able to to pose like a damn pro. It's like when ToyBiz had the Spider-man license and made the most poseable figure they ever could. SP comes with two somewhat translucent swords, and they look awesome! He's very ninja-esque.
But I really don't see anyone who would buy SP and not get the trailer add-on. That's where you get your Nova Prime stand-in, right? Alt mode with trailer looks good (not as boring without the trailer). Most of the add-on armor attaches to the trailer in some way, and you also get a pistol and an uber-sword. One of these weapons is very fitting for your figure and the other one (hint, it's the pistol) seems out of place. Once you put on all your add-on pieces including the glorious wing-span, you have a much more appealing, imposing figure. This is where the figure shines, although you leave the skeleton of the trailer somewhere off to the side. Think G1 cartoons where Prime's trailer just goes away, like a rejected lover.
Okay, so you've tossed the trailer and you have this cool looking figure. Let's talk about posing. Those add-on pieces hinder SP's ability to move. There's these missile packs that peg into the back of his thighs and kinda wrap around the front. Once you put on his thigh-high boots, the kneecaps on them will knock against the missiles when rotating the leg unless you bend the knee. Some other armor bits are prone to falling off when fiddling with your figure, so just be cautious. And remember those cool looking translucent swords? Well they slide into some holders on the back of the figure BUT you have to slide them in with the longest side of the blade tip facing outwards. Otherwise they don't slide in all the way.
I would like to take some time to praise the wings. The translucent orange paired with navy blue is very striking. The combination of swivels and hinges allow for a variety of poses. And while I wouldn't describe anything as tight, I will say that you should feel confident that however you choose to position the wings they WILL stay in place.
Overall, if you're buying SP then you're buying the entire set. He looks good in alt mode, but even better in armored robot mode. I think it would've been better if this was more like Generations Ultra Magnus where the cab is one with the trailer. Then the designers could've focused more on the dynamics of the full figure instead of building up a core figure. But I am happy with my purchase and I think he will stay posed on the shelf with wing span fully opened.
