Don't do it. It's a scrapped feature and in order to get to it you have to permanently damage the figure. Which is a waste for something that ugly.

Ditto. Been known for a long time. This goes to show that despite the near perfection of MP10, there are some things that can be implemented on a figure with a much larger scale.

D'OH! I had MP-10 on the brain when typing that. My bad, MP-4 has the mouth too.Dead Metal wrote:Sabrblade wrote:No mouth behind that one.thedistinctroom wrote:How about the MP-04 version? I have that one.
That almost a bit random really.

It's not really a feature, it's the remnants of a dead feature that was never really implemented. The faceplate was originally going to be removable, but they decided against it. such a feature is possible on a toy the size of MP10, hell, it can work on a figure as small as a scout.Sabrblade wrote:No mouth behind that one.thedistinctroom wrote:How about the MP-04 version? But on MP-10 scale, you'd need to use a loupe to appreciate it. And as you mentioned, it was supposed to be another feature that was supposedly dropped in the final release. MP-01 mold was truly a very ambitious attempt.

No you wouldn't. Do you need a loupe to appreciate Scout class head sculpts?
And what is there to appreciate in the first place? It's an awful looking thing and looks really half assed, which is likely the reason it was scrapped in the first place.

Good for you DM ( you still got 20/20 vision?) but in my case, I really need a loupe. Even in new molds like Breacher, it takes a loupe to appreciate the finer details.
As MP-01 mold has indeed seen better days. For me, every tiny detail or trivial info gets my appreciation. Goes to show how what could have been had it been implemented. I ain't that jaded yet.

I treat all my figures kind off like a dvds. Back then when "Easter Eggs" were like the rage?
Maybe yes, maybe no but you can do more on a particular mold with a bigger size. As in henkei Galvatron, they wanted to implement something along the way until it was dropped. Sure, some weird after effects were still retained. It still retained that useless walking tank feature.
Heck, if not for one of those TF mooks, I wouldn't have learned that MP-05 was supposed to have a "Heart of Cybertron" chest chamber. A little nice to know trivia.
So the mouth being a big deal? Not really but compare the MP-01 to MP-10 head size, that "speaker" grill would probably look less detailed.
Also, if not for this discussion, I wouldn't have learned from you guys that the mouth guard was supposed to be removable? Again, another nice to know Easter egg.
