Toywizard decided to use a picture of a custom (?), I can't see it at work, to illustrate what the figure will look something like.

The real thing will use the updated MP-11 mold rather than the MP-3 one. So no they are not ripping off a customizer's creation.

If I'm honest, I would like to have seen a Shockwave or Dinobot Encore reissue, however that said Sixshot's not to shabby.

In that case they need a new campaign manager because the election already took place... iGear already sold most what they would have either way and if this costs what MP-11 does or more, iGear's offering is still significantly cheaper. If Takara wants to actually hurt iGear they need to at least start announcing stuff before iGear has had it available for months and then charge comparable prices to ensure defeat...

I have an Encore Sixshot already. I want to bite on Sunstorm, but it depends on the timing and situation. They should have made a classics version of this one. I'm sure they still could, though, right?

And a little off topic, but where in the hell is the MP Thundercracker in G1 colors they should be making?

Actually the only named rainmaker was Acid Storm, Sunstorm was a seeker I actually would have liked Acid Storm as a MP-11 repaint

Considering he was the last mass release (not exclusive) Seeker released (back in late 2008) they're probably not in a hurry to do another one just yet. I imagine he or Skywarp will be next after Sunstorm if they don't go for a conehead or something else entirely different afterwards.

No the listing says there are no images by Takara yet. The store included that image, falsely labelled as Hasbro Sunstorm, as a reference to what the final product may look like.

I'm in the minority, but I love Robot Masters Thundercracker just because he actually looks like G1 cartoon Thundercracker.

Thanks for the update. Wasn't exactly the most focused yesterday.
While I can appreciate that they want to put up some kind of a reference photo I do have to say that they screwed the pooch when they put up FrenzyRumbles pic without permission. First off, no permisssion. Secondly, you don't post a representation of a toy that is VASTLY superior to what the actual final product will be.
How many folks do you think are going to pre-order this and then see the official photo from TakaraTomy and say "WTF??" and cancel their pre-orders? That answer would be...All of them!

Not me. I really like the custom but it's not my ideal Masterpiece Sunstorm.

Feh, I just caught that was a custom pictured on the YAHobby preorder (it only mentions that on their blog entry about MP-11S, not on the preorder page, so I totally thought it was an official Takara photo).

That photo is going to cause a LOT of confusion. I might be interested in a Takara MP Sunstorm if it featured cool 'burning' damage as the photo shows or otherwise significantly differs from iGear's PP03S Storm, which I had already planned to purchase and like the looks of.

I wish Takara and Hasbro would make up their minds on which way the Decepticon logos should be oriented on the wings, I hate that my MP Starscream and Skywarp don't match.

Waaaay too much for a reissue. Way too much.

Though, when the 3rd party one comes out from Mastermind Creations, I can't imagine it'll be much cheaper...so... I guess the question is, at that point, which one will you choose?

I'd probably go with MC's. It's rather posable. Plus I kinda like the updated look on it.

No contest. If I wanted a G1 Sixshot I wouldn't have sold mine eight years ago.

I'm all over Hexatron as long as the QC is good; I love its appearance!

Looks like Sunstorm is $140 and Sixshot is $178

That's got to be a mistake for Sixshot. No way that thing costs that much.

Makes me glad I bought complete and mint G1 version a few years back for $27.

Since you have Sixshot on hand, care to size him up with a current Masterpiece? Grimlock or similar size will do.

Compared to MP Grimlock, he's about even in both height and bulk. Maybe Gimlock is a little bulkier and heavier. But not by much. That's of course, not counting the wings. The wings make him really tall.
