Well, I scanned in the drawings for her before when I did my art thread; only one of the links is still working though...

WW Arcee (Vehicle Mode)

...And as you can see; there is a big difference.

However, I don't have the original drawings anymore; they burned up in the housefire.

I'll see if I can locate the other one, and post it here.

It was for the Dreamwave contest to redesign an original G1 character and give them a War Within form; I chose Arcee. I didn't care about that fact; the point was that I did her as my contest entry; they liked it; they published it in issue #4, and I hated drawing her face!

I was only saying that I hated drawing her face; and that's all. I was trying to find the face pic; but I couldn't; nor do I have the original anymore either.

Hell, someone did Cyclonus for that contest too; and he wasn't even around during War Within!!!

Sorry if I sound angry; but you're missing the point. I was trying to let everyone know that she was the best female face I've ever drawn; and that's all! I wasn't trying to get into a long discussion regarding whether or not she would exist like that or not...

Well, I wanted to give version 1 a bit of an arabic look, since if I remember correctly, those half human/half spider creatures were from a Mid-East army that wanted to invade Greece or Rome. At least, I think so.

But look closely; V1's legs are so weird because it's a large armor. The normal legs are inside them, but the thighs and such aren't covered (like I said, if you look closely you can see it). The weird grid is a webbing lacing like with V2's boots.

And yeah, I realize I messed up with the whole abdomen thing.

Oh yeah! For those who don't understand V1's transformation: The midsection becomes a vest if you will, while the abdomen shift over the legs, forming the "armor pants".

Man - how could I have missed jimsloth's Ironhide??
Dude, we need to see a finalized version of this!

I'm scanning some stuff now - should be up next post..

Ra88 - your Black Arachnia design is kicks ass. The armored legs do look like they're huge - maybe spread out the armor and show more of the bot legs. Nice detail as well.

To be honest, I got absolutely no idea how to do that.  Might shift them more over the legs, so that they look smaller. I am planning on doing a Blackarachnia shot without the armor, though (so basically no real beastmode parts). Why? Because I can. :P

Ra88 - Do you mind if I draw over your design.. Cus I just did.
I just had to do it - sorry.

This is what I had in mind.

If you're drawing her with out the armor plates - where did they go? Does it become a shield or something??

Once again - I'm sorry. I meant no offense by drawing on top. I'm just trying to help. :)

Hey, that looks good! :D Now it's more like a samourai-esque armor, instead of an arabian one. I'll have to try and see what else I could do with it, though. Shields could work, but she would be a partformer that way, and I HATE partformers.

Grimlock: Me likey! The "legs-stay-the-same-in-both-modes" works for me, too.

Finished Snarl pic: Holy.... damn, man.. I feel so VERY inadequate in my artistic skills now.

I Like the idea of an Arab theme on BA. But have her legs "armour" BM esq (aka clear) To pull that off/draw, all you have to do is draw her with sexy legs done with dark lines and color the pants over them (no lines just color) This make the sections big but not making them not so "clunky" RA I really like the direction you're going with with BA, I can totaly see belly dancer out of her hehe, the design really fits her. Stick with it

Great Jeebus, that Grimlock looks awesome so far, but WOWOWOWOWOWO I love the Snarl (my 2nd fave dinobot).

Looks like you and TFmaster managed to mix in some of the saurian elements from his G1 mode (stegosaur), combined with a nice medieval serpentine head and anklyosaur like armor.

Ra88-Blackarachnia's design looks very interesting, though I kinda have a hard time figuring out her transformation scheme. BBA's proposal of the legs looks good so far.

And the idea of basing the transfomations on existing TFs I think is a good idea to follow....since that makes them easier to Kitbash I think for the kitbashesr (rather than starting from scratch).

Oh yeah, anyone saw Disney's Atlantis? Remember the iron giant lobster that guarded the entrance? Anyone know it's name and whether or not it's a real myth? Toying with an idea to make Rampage out of it, but I want to be sure that it isn't something made up by Disney.

hm. Grimlock looks a little TOO bulky. he should be taller.
what about keeping those big feet of his as his lower legs, with the claws pointing down, then turn it 180 so the top of the foot is facing backwards, and bend the claws, with the robot foot coming out the other side.

out of the two Snarl heads, the one on top looks more like Sludge.

hey, do you have any reference pictures of this spider-woman hybrid? is it a D&D Dryder? (a Dryder is a Drow/Spider hybrid. a Drow is a Dark Elf.)

Yes! That was the thing that inspired BA, a Dryder! I once read that they were based on a real mythological creature, but I never managed to find it. :?

man I'm gone for a day and all this stuff happens :D

BBA- very nice stuff there, and the blackarachnia legs are better, I think.

Ra88- I think that that crab thing from Atlantis was a prehistoric animal, but since its bigger we can just say that it is mythological. :D

You are talking about the labyathen. It is a mythical creature that is based around the Atlantis lore. I think it has also been a squid but I'd have the look it up. The labyathen was the guardian to the underwater gate of atlantis.

Boy was my spelling wrong

This page is about the biblical creature; for other uses, see Leviathan (disambiguation).
Leviathan (לִוְיָתָן "Twisted; coiled", Standard Hebrew Livyatan, Tiberian Hebrew Liwyāṯān) was a Biblical sea monster referred to in passing in the Old Testament (Psalms 74:13-14; Job 41; Isaiah 27:1).

The word leviathan has become synonymous with any large monster or creature.

In modern Hebrew, the word "leviathan" simply means "whale".

Pics and more info here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leviathan#Christian

So apparently the laviathen can be any oversized water creature.

Hehe, on the way home by subway, I was playing around with some design for Rampage as well. What you suggested sounds pretty solid.

For Depth Charge, I just doodled him as a "Radiant Dragon," one of them dragons from the Dungeons and Dragons reference book I took a peek a boo at a local Barnes and Noble. Just thought up of it since the Maxi's seem to lack any kind of drakes/dragons.

EDIT: I'll post a rough sketch of the doodle I did of DC tomorrow....the "Radiant Dragon" idea was scrapped in favor, of a more aquatic dragon, to stay in line with this personality.

Hello all!

First off; nice work on the Snarl and Grimlock BBA! I love the way Snarl turned out; excellent!!!

Secondly, you have some nice ideas for Depthcharge and Rampage figures; those work really well. It would be nice to see Rampage come back; perhaps he wasn't so much destroyed as he was deactivated or in stasis-lock for a time after his final battle with Depthcharge; and then he got reactivated...thus Depthcharge returns (somehow... :?: ).

Lastly; I updated the list on Page 1 :) .

but where did you get the idea they were Arabian and were attacking Greece or Rome or something? I'm just trying to think of more ways to make the humanoid half look different when it transforms.
