Yeah strange coincidence about that. Futurama last week was also a Moby Dick homage/parody, and I guess an actual Moby Dick movie premiered somewhere last week according to TV Guide. So what it boils down to is that there were three sepearate Moby Dick shows in one week. That is not common.

Still, the creature being a plant was a new twist, and they didn't shy away from showing it's equivalent of blood. They also did away with quite a few crew members(off camera naturally). Still, it was an average episode at best, but it did have a little character building, and most shows do take a few episodes after the premier to get rolling.

Also this show has inspired me to at least get the original 33 episode release of Season 1, Part 1 of Thundercats. Been years since I watched the show, and so far it's aged decently.

From what ive seen so far im liking it. Animation is great, the art style is pretty good, Its a good balance of new and old, and the story seems like it should be good. I watched the old Thundercat episodes that cartoonnetwork & boomerang showed before the new one started and i have to say the new show feels more like a sequel than a reboot and thats a good thing. Wish they would keep showing the old ones cause i really want to watch them again but dont feel like hunting donw the DVDs or downloading them. Right now my only complaint is that snarf doesnt talk, now lion-o doesnt have a whiny nurse made to get him into trouble all the time. Hes more like a pet now instead of a guardian/member. And hes not snarf unless he says snarf after every sentence. Other than that i think it should turn out to be a great show for old fans and noobs alike.

On another note any word on when the toys are being released? I looked online and all i could find was august/september release not an actual date. Also asked at a few stores and TRU said either this friday or next, walmarts not getting them and target had no clue what i was talking about. I checked TRU and kmarts site and they're sold out and not available for in store pick up.

The new episode was really good. The design of the fish people was weird, but the insanity of the captain was very well portrayed, as was Lion-O's anger about his father's death. This show is shaping up to be fantastic. Thank god Panthro's coming back tomorrow.

Last night's episode was... interesting. The flower people brought an interesting concept to the table.

This episode seemed like an examination of why we live.

At least Panthro's back.

And the toys are in TRU now.... well the Thundertank and 2 Deluxe 4 inch figs, and the 3 minivehicles.

I do like the new show. Some interesting changes, and some interesting similarities. MIssed show two, but saw the third.

Flower people was a little silly, but not quite as campy as Berbils yet.

I thought the episode could have been catastrophically cheesie but it actually worked and was well done IMO.
As for Panthro.....i'm pretty stoked. He did a couple to many little spinorama nunchuck moves at the very end there though. I thought that was close to the cheesiest part of the whole episode to be honest.

The only figure that i reeeaaallly want at the moment is Mumm-Ra (aside from the classics). Before he turns into the beefed up version though. I always loved that form.
The original mail away from the 80's is a piss poor rendition of him. The new one looks damn near perfect.
My only gripe about it is that he should come with a staff instead of the sword of plun-darr holster. I guess that's where owning the original will come in handy because you can give him the staff that came with the original. Plus the new one doesn't stand very well when he has his cloak on. Nevertheless i want it.

Well the latest one was an enjoyable enough episode but.........

I think they showed us the meeting between Panthro and Grune waaaay to soon and could have done more to lead up to it to make it more impactful and epic. As it was it was a bit....limp.

However i loved the new Driller and i hope he wasn't just a mindless machine but has a character and will return later.

Panthro could become the best character on this show as well as the original series

I did enjoy the latest episode. Everytime I hear Grune I think, it's Lex Luthor in cat form. I found it interesting that Mumm-ra's tomb was super-technological, as opposed to the lack of tech that the cats have. The driller was awesome, but did seem to be a creation rather than a sentient being. Panthro based on what he was saying, seemed to commit fealty to Lion-o rather quickly. Oh well.

The figures are available in picture form, and to order on BBTS. Front page shows a link to the new Thundercats toys they just got in stock.

That was just a ruse so they could get at the king. And introduce Mummra.

I don't think Panthro has yet explained exactly how he came back, but I missed one episode, and only watched the newest one once, of course, distracted.

Last night's episode was good. Mummra's tank was weird, but the Jaga lantern piece was cool, and I have to say the Kung Fu Panda ending was NOT unexpected.

I grabbed the 4 inch deluxe Grune and Mummra figs. Good articulation, good likenesses. THe gimmicks are pretty sad, and there is no head articulation.

The prices of these figures surprises me the most. TRU being the only place I have seen them may have something to do with it. I just can't get myself to pay $19 for a 6 inch figure, even if the Pantro and Mummra look cool.

I was talking about the KFP ending.

I'm not saying this episode wasn't good, I'm just saying the Book of Omens was blank.
