I was thinking....maybe he is missing the paint aps because they will include a sticker set? That would be cool!

I wish the booster pack was more g1 toy looking or even g1 cartoon looking, but certainly is not a deal breaker for me.

I'm really excited for this guy, even more than MP Jack and Bee!!! I can't wait until the preorders go up!

Takara hsn't made a peep about further Generations releases since their release of Armada Starscream. Hasbro's the one who's kept on going with keeping the line alive, while Takara seems to have not only stopped for now but also skipped a bunch of figures that Hasbro put out.

Thus far, the Japanese Generations line has not release any of the following over in Japan:
  • FOC Impactor
  • FOC Twintwist
  • FOC Topspin
  • FOC Roadbuster
  • FOC Whirl
  • Swerve & Flanker
  • Cosmos & Payload
  • Skrapnel & Reflector
  • Tailgate & Groundbuster
  • Dreadwing
  • Skids
  • Goldfire
  • Scoop
  • Doubledealer (though, Transformers Cloud will be releasing this mold as Starscream)
  • Whirl
And there have been zero signs of any Japanese release for:
  • Gears & Eclipse
  • Acid Storm & Venin
  • Rattrap
  • Tankor
  • Crosscut
  • Nightbeat
  • Jhiaxus
  • Windblade
  • Arcee
  • Chromia
  • Sky-Byte
  • Roadbuster
  • Jetfire
  • Any others mentioned to be coming from Hasbro.
It appears as though TakaraTomy gave up on the line well before Hasbro did in order to better prepare for their Lost Age Series and Movie Advanced Series lines.

I never said anything about online retailers like BBTS.

But if you think Target, Walmart, Meijer, etc are getting these you are mistaken. You really think they are going to make shelf space for an obscure figure that no one but fanboys are going to buy? Let alone the fact this is the only figure in this size class? If so, you need a lesson in simple economics.

Scalpers know this. Do you not think they will buy them up from the online retailers that do get them? Unless they put a limit on them, this will be a hard to find figure. Assuming it is ever made, that is. I wouldn't take anything Hasbro says as gospel at this point.

Stores give a flying flip on who the character actually is and who'd want to buy him. All they see is "Hm, new product, gotta sell that" and worry about the consequences later (i.e. having to put him on sale). Look at what happened to Ultimate Predaking. Besides, I suspect that the individual stores have to have such and such product on the shelves by order of the main offices.

I have to say it, but as a whole you're giving the stores way too much credit when it comes to their knowledge.

The only Ultimate figures in the last two years that have hit mass retail was Ultimate BH Optimus and Predaking. And Predaking never saw release at Walmart or Meijer. Both were the main characters of a cartoon in production at the time. Just as a side note, how well did they sell? Must not have been very good, because I picked my Optimus for $18 on clearance. They were the shelfwarming bricks of 2013. Anyone with a Target near them knows this. Noone bought the things until Target was practically giving them away.

What is Jetfire? An obscure G1 character that saw limited time even in the G1 series. You think just because it is on a comic cover that it will get the "press" that the likes of Optimus or even Predaking got?

And this isn't even factoring the fact that TF4 junk is going to be THE Transformers merchandise for the next year or so. If you really think that mass retailers buy product just because it is new you are dead wrong. If so, why was Generations scrapped for TF4? It is not about what is "new". If that were true, then each new TF line wouldn't start with a token Optimus or BB.

LOL......so silly.

Generations is on hiatus because Hasbro planned it that way, period. They are soliciting Generations releases to stores, yes, but on the schedule they'll appear in stores in Fall, after the initial movie hype has subsided. At least that seems to be their plan.

And that soliciting to stores? Goes the same basic way as in-store advertising, only with Hasbro as seller, and the stores as their customers. Should the movie product sell well, the stores will think "Hmmm, gimme more!" and be more eager to sell Generations on the side. Has the same overall brand name, should sell just as well right? Basic economics, it's all about presentation, and worry about the future later.

On second thought, let me give you the tl;dr version:

Stores are stupid

Where did you get this Generations stuff being released in the fall? Who told you that? Did you read it here? Did Hasbro announce this? Or are you just speculating this will be the case, and if so, what is it based on? Generations is not on hiatus because they plaaned it that way, rather, it became that way once they decided on the street date of TF4 stuff. That is why the latter half of the deluxes were almost all repaints or remolds. That way they can scrap it if needed without an large investment being lost.

I would say it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that Generations is going to give way to classics or IDW figures by the fall. That is when the TF4 dvd will be released. How long did DOTM rule the shelves? And how long was it from the last generations figures until we got more? A year. And then it was FOC stuff. With the new video game coming out, do you think just maybe that Hasbro will release some game based figures in favor of some obscure IDW characters? I would say it is more likely that your "IDW" Arcee coming out will be that of the video game character instead. Crosscut, Nightbeat, and Jhaxius will be scrapped all together. Windblade will never see production in general. Never got an official pic, so that is no surprise. As far as the rest of generations go, it appears Hasbro is doing away with all smaller classes, so the Legends line is on life support. Assuming they even release the figures they speculate. Time will tell. But as everyone knows. in the world of TF's, mass retail favors a movie or cartoon backing ANY toys they sell. The movie line has the movie. And the new cartoon will debut in the first quarter of 2015. Toy line will be out a month or two before that. What room will there be on the shelves for an obscure line that represents characters that come out 30 years ago? Contrary to popular belief (on this site at least) most people do not give a squat about classics or g1 type figures today. They want new stuff backed by a cartoon or a movie. Generations IDW or classics has neither.
And you think this Jetfire has a chance at retail? I think not. But, believe what you will. I guess it doesn't matter if you get yours, but getting one in general will be the task. Good luck with that, assuming it is released at all.

Yes, and how many of these "preorders" for Generations figures have be cancelled so far this year alone? You cannot use a preorder from an online retailer as an official release date. If they were accurate we would have had Legends Cosmos last October, remember? They are rarely correct even when the figures are assumed to be released, let alone with the line as it is now.
If you take these as gospel you are setting yourself up for disappointment later on.

I am not trying to be the Debbie downer on this, but if you think about what I am saying you will know it to be true. There is no point in speculating these dates at this point. As much as I dislike it myself, the rest of 2014 is going to be all AOE.

Ok, if you know for sure that Generations is definitely canceled, then riddle us this:

How come we got to see Generations figures on display at Toy Fair 2014, including Windblade, Jhiaxus and Nightbeat, alongside AoE product?

As for Windblade's official toy pics missing:

Image from TFWiki.net.

And as a reminder, the figures originally planned for release in Q2 have been postponed, not canceled altogether. They will be released in future waves, possibly as so-called carry-overs, alongside other newer figures. That was Hasbro's official word on the matter.

You're partially correct, you can't count on them completely. However, sites like RK, Entertainment Earth, and BBTS have direct accounts to buy Hasbro product to sell to consumers, so their dates coincide with when the product should come out, assuming enough other retailers have ordered enough for them to go through with production of the wave. That's where delays/cancellations come in to play and why yes, you can't merely rely on e-commerce arrival estimates for waves, not to mention that fact that the simpler supply chain infrastructure of an e-tailer compared to a huge mass retailer allows them to get stuff out faster once they have the product in hand.

In short, seeing as how Hasbro doesn't ever really give exact release dates except for on Movie-line product, e-tailer preorder arrival dates from their direct accounts are as close as we can assume.

No, should be out late Summer/early Fall.

I don't think he's trolling, I think he's just upset and emotional over the latest delays in Generations product.

LOL..who said it was cancelled? Did I say that? No. I said that certain figures in the line will POSSSIBLY be cancelled. I am, however, DEFINITELY disagreeing with your speculation that the line will continue in the fall. Generations, for the most part, will continue as a AOE outlet this year, and next year it might be for the new cartoon line. Or video game.

Will the new TF4 Generation deluxes have a comic in it? If not, I would have doubts that gimmick will continue with any future Generations releases. And I know you are thinking, well, what about Rattrap and Tankor. How do you know for sure they will not be exclusives or Asian market releases? Or even Marsalls/TJ Maxx fodder, like RTS, the last line to butt up against a movie line?

My point is you don't know. To say you do is foolish. I am calling what I see due to what happened in the past to non movie lines when the movie came out. And many figures across many lines have been the causalities of movie lines. Do you really think obscure figures like those contained in the "delayed" waves stand a chance in the long run? If they do it will not this year. Thrilling 30 is now officially over. Now begins the reign of TF4 toys. Again, I ask you, what place do these classics or IDW figures have in it?

It never ceases to amaze me how people on the internet will get something out of what you say that you never said.

So, if I do not agree with your delusional speculation on the fate of this line, I am trolling? I see.......

I am not "Upset & Emotional" (lol), to the member who said I was. I don't get angry about toys. I leave that to the people who base everything off of speculation, get angry and jump the gun by paying extraordinary prices for figures from an Asian market just because someone speculated something that was not true (ahem...Cosmos and Swerve)......I am calling it as I see it. And I cannot see Jetfire here hitting mass retail at all. I cannot see generations in general going back to IDW or even classics this year at all, IDW if ever. As far as Hasbro's official word on the Generations line, yes, I believe it will continue. Do I think they know for sure what they are going to do a year from now. NO. They have "officially" stated many things before that were untrue in the test of time.

Unfortunately it is not all roses and lollypops as some of you expect. And because of that I am a troll........

Maybe it is because you fear I am right and in that YOU are the ones getting angry.

Jetfire isn't that obscure, he was in ROTF. Sure this one bares little resemblance to the bot in the film, but the name and concept of Jetfire being a big bot that turns into a plane is at least as well known as Soundwave who turns into a tapedeck or Acid Storm the jet (both of which cost more, and were at TRU recently). Aside from Optimus none of the other MPs were supported by any television or film appearances, yet they were stocked and sold at a higher price point than this leader class Jetfire.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

Not to mention the Unicron Trilogy character, the Aligned character, the Animated character, the Shattered Glass character (even though it was more of a cameo than anything), and the character as he appeared in the original Marvel comics, where he was much more prominent than the original cartoon.

So yeah. Jetfire isn't an obscure character. He may be obscure to you, but that doesn't mean the general fandom doesn't know about him. >:oP

This will be a long wait alright. Sure as sin the line will be at a back burner for AOE.

Though it is so hard to contain it...........the impatience is murder!

Btw, on this side of the Pacific, some Japanese Online stores are now sold out on their AOE solicitations. Besides MP UM, BB and WJ and Artstorm products............nary a sign of their Japanese versions.
