Cute in that ugly sort of way...I kind of thought it might show some life, but alas, no...maybe Davy Jones will come back in the 4th one and be riding it, looking for revenge on Will. DJ will also have Calypso at his side and all H E double hockey sticks will break loose...

Or it could just be about the fountain of youth...

My bro paid for me to go see it yesterday. I liked it. A lot. I thought it was the best of the three. It was a much more serious and dark movie which I loved. Humor was kept to a minimum. I'd put it as 3>1>2. The biggest thing that bugged me was the sound. The quality was fine but I had trouble understanding what a few of them were saying like Calypso. That and the redubbing in a few parts was off. The voice didn't synch well with the lips. Bugged the **** out of me.

Really? I didnt notice any bad dubbing, and had no trouble understanding them at all...

Maybe your cinema's sound system was on the blink?

I too noticed it was darker which was great...after giving it some more thought i like the movie alot more now and instead of thinking its the weaker of the three, i actually now consider it just as good as DMC. The latter only being in the same ballpark as AWE because of the level of amazing action DMC had.

From what I could tell, the sound was fine. I just have trouble hearing what they're saying when they mumble some of the words. And I know the dubbing was off in some parts because it would go from being perfect synch to having one word or two off and then back to perfect. Seemed like it was only Liz though.

Strange, i remember there was moments where i couldnt clearly tell what they was saying too, but after thinking about it i realized what they said anyway. My cinema didnt seem to have enough bass going around either, or it might just be me as i have the bass turned up to 11 on my home theatre system.

But other than those couple of bits i thought all the sound was fine. I usually pick up on mistakes like bad dubbing or camera shadows and that sorta stuff and i didnt notice any.

Its even more unusuall that you found these bits only with Liz....it could have still been a problem with the cinema you was at. I guess we'll find out in a few months when it comes out on dvd for sure. lol

:BOT: I never saw the first two in theaters but I thoroughly enjoyed them on DVD so I was looking forward to At World's End.

I absolutely was lost who was aligned with who... but I've got to say I was fully entertained with the last hour. And I love black screen with sounds of the ride and Keith Richards.

Well worth the price of admission for me. :CON:

That was awesome! It took me right back to Walt Disney in my childhood... "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me..."

I also like how the dog gag made a continuous appearance throughout... It's one of my favorite parts of the ride!

Just got back. I agree that the beginning scenes and some in the middle could have been omitted and wouldn't have changed the story and wouldn't be bringing the movie down. All in all, I, personally, would say that this movie is a close second to DMC. Both DMC and AWE are alot better than CotBP, but I liked DMC because of it being the intro and, hence, had so much attention on Davy Jones and his crew. I also agree that there were times when I had trouble understanding a few lines, especially when Calypso was a giant; speaking of which, I do agree that there should have been more power to her true form rather than just a maelstrom. I loved multiple Jacks as they were the funniest parts of the movie imo.

On a scale of 1 to 10:

CotBP = 6
DMC = 9.5
AWE = 9

I definitely have to agree with SC on that wedding vote. Imagine telling that story to your kids.

"Timmy, you're daddy was so romantic. We were in the middle of gutting fishmen and he married me on the spot"
Next up on Pimp My Jeager.

Why do you rate the original so low? Its considered the best in the series by many.

I thought the multiple jacks was a ncie little homage to the film "being john malkovich", as well as being truly funny.

I didnt understand what calypso said when she was a giant either, anyone fill me in on this?

It is much like with Star Wars (Episode 4). When it first came out, it was stupendous, but next to the new ones it isn't too exciting.

As far as what I mean with PotC, I'm much more excited by Davy Jones and his crew as the enemies rather than the British Navy or Ghost Pirates.

I saw this last night. It cost like £13 for 2 of us!
Anyway, yeah it's not as good as 1 and 2 and IMHO Depp looks bored with the role now.
That said, it is still a great movie, and what I really like is the way it's totally overflowing with sight / physical gags - the midget dude firing the big gun and gettin blown down a hole was amazing.
